दावीद आपला मुलगा अबशालोम याच्याकडून पळाला तेव्हाचे दावीदाचे स्तोत्र.
3 परमेश्वरा मला खूप शत्रू आहेत.
खूप लोक माझ्या विरुद्ध गेले आहेत.
2 बरेच लोक माझ्याबद्दल बोलत आहेत ते लोक म्हणतात, “देव त्याला वाचवणार नाही.”
3 परंतु परमेश्वरा, तूच माझी ढाल आहेस
तूच माझे वैभव आहेस
परमेश्वरा मला महत्व [a] देणारा तूच आहेस.
4 मी परमेश्वराची प्रार्थना करेन
आणि तो मला त्याच्या पवित्र डोंगरावरून उत्तर देईल!
5 मी पडून विश्रांती घेतो तरी मी जागा होईन हे मला माहीत आहे.
मला हे कसे कळते?
कारण परमेश्वर मला सांभाळतो माझे रक्षण करतो.
6 माझ्याभोवती हजारो सैनिक असतील.
परंतु मी या शत्रूंना घाबरणार नाही.
7 परमेश्वरा जागा हो!
देवा मला वाचव तू फार शक्तिशाली आहेस
तू जर माझ्या शत्रूंच्या थोबाडीत मारलीस
तर त्यांचे सगळे दात पडतील.
8 परमेश्वरा, जय तुझाच आहे.
परमेश्वरा तू कृपा करून तुझ्या लोकांवर दया कर.

Save Me, O My God
A Psalm of David, (A)when he fled from Absalom his son.
3 O Lord, (B)how many are my foes!
Many are (C)rising against me;
2 many are saying of my soul,
(D)“There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah[a]
3 But you, O Lord, are (E)a shield (F)about me,
my glory, and (G)the lifter of my head.
4 I (H)cried aloud to the Lord,
and he (I)answered me from his (J)holy hill. Selah
5 I (K)lay down and slept;
I woke again, for the Lord sustained me.
6 I (L)will not be afraid of many thousands of people
who have (M)set themselves against me all around.
7 (N)Arise, O Lord!
Save me, O my God!
For you (O)strike all my enemies on the cheek;
you (P)break the teeth of the wicked.
8 (Q)Salvation belongs to the Lord;
your blessing be on your people! Selah

2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
