गिरासेनॉस का प्रेतात्मा से पीड़ित व्यक्ति
5 तब वे झील के दूसरे तट पर गिरासेनॉस क्षेत्र में आए. 2 मसीह येशु के नाव से नीचे उतरते ही एक मनुष्य जिसमें अशुद्ध आत्मा थी क़ब्र से निकल कर उनके पास आया. 3 वह क़ब्रों के मध्य ही रहा करता था. अब कोई भी उसे साँकलों तथा बेड़ियों से भी बान्ध पाने में समर्थ न था. 4 बहुधा उसे बेड़ियों तथा साँकलों में बांधे जाने के प्रयास किए गए किन्तु वह साँकलों को तोड़ देता तथा बेड़ियों के टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर डालता था. अब किसी में इतनी क्षमता न थी कि उसे वश में कर सके. 5 रात-दिन क़ब्रों के मध्य तथा पहाड़ियों में वह चिल्लाता रहता था तथा स्वयं को पत्थर मार-मार कर घायल कर लेता था.
6 दूर से ही जब उसने मसीह येशु को देखा, वह दौड़ कर उनके पास आया, अपना सिर झुकाया 7 और उसमें से उँची आवाज़ में ये शब्द सुनाई दिए, “परमप्रधान परमेश्वर के पुत्र येशु! मेरा आपका कोई लेन-देन नहीं. आपको परमेश्वर की शपथ, मुझे कोई कष्ट न दें,” 8 क्योंकि मसीह येशु उसे आज्ञा दे चुके थे, “ओ दुष्टात्मा, इस मनुष्य में से निकल आ!”
9 तब मसीह येशु ने उससे प्रश्न किया, “क्या नाम है तेरा?”
प्रेत ने उत्तर दिया, “सेना—क्योंकि हम बहुत हैं.” 10 प्रेत मसीह येशु से विनती करने लगा कि वह उसे उस प्रदेश से बाहर न भेजें.
11 वहीं पहाड़ी पर सूअरों का एक विशाल झुण्ड चर रहा था. 12 प्रेत-समूह ने मसीह येशु से विनती की, “हमें इन सूअरों में भेज दीजिए कि हम उनमें जा बसें.” 13 मसीह येशु ने उन्हें यह आज्ञा दे दी. वे प्रेत बाहर निकल कर उन सूअरों में प्रवेश कर गए. लगभग दो हज़ार सूअरों का वह झुण्ड पहाड़ की तीव्र ढलान पर तेज़ गति से दौड़ता हुआ झील में जा डूबा.
14 भयभीत रखवाले भाग गए तथा नगर और पास के क्षेत्रों में जा कर इस घटना के विषय में बताने लगे. नगरवासी, जो कुछ हुआ था, उसे देखने वहाँ आने लगे. 15 जब वे मसीह येशु के पास पहुँचे, उन्होंने देखा कि वह प्रेतात्मा से पीड़ित व्यक्ति वस्त्र धारण किए हुए सचेत स्थिति में वहाँ बैठा था. यह वही व्यक्ति था जिसमें प्रेतों की सेना पैठी थी. यह देख वे डर गए. 16 सारे घटनाक्रम को देखने वाले लोगों ने उनके सामने इसका बयान किया कि प्रेतात्मा से पीड़ित व्यक्ति तथा सूअरों के साथ क्या-क्या हुआ है. 17 इस पर वे मसीह येशु से विनती करने लगे कि वह उनके क्षेत्र से बाहर चले जाएँ.
18 जब मसीह येशु नाव पर सवार हो रहे थे, प्रेतों से विमुक्त हुआ व्यक्ति मसीह येशु से विनती करने लगा कि उसे उनके साथ ले लिया जाए. 19 मसीह येशु ने उसे इसकी अनुमति नहीं दी परन्तु उसे आदेश दिया, “अपने परिजनों के पास लौट जाओ और उन्हें बताओ कि तुम्हारे लिए प्रभु ने कैसे-कैसे आश्चर्यकाम किए हैं तथा तुम पर उनकी कैसी कृपादृष्टि हुई है.” 20 वह देकापोलीस नगर में गया और उन कामों का वर्णन करने लगा, जो मसीह येशु ने उसके लिए किए थे. यह सुन सभी चकित रह गए.
तथा मरी हुई लड़की का जी उठना

21 मसीह येशु दोबारा झील के दूसरे तट पर चले गए. एक बड़ी भीड़ उनके पास इकट्ठी हो गयी. मसीह येशु झील तट पर ही रहे. 22 स्थानीय यहूदी सभागृह का एक अधिकारी, जिसका नाम याइरॉस था, वहाँ आया. यह देख कि वह कौन हैं, वह उनके चरणों पर गिर पड़ा. 23 बड़ी ही विनती के साथ उसने मसीह येशु से कहा, “मेरी बेटी मरने पर है. कृपया चलिए और उस पर हाथ रख दीजिए कि वह स्वस्थ हो जाए और जीवित रहे.” 24 मसीह येशु उसके साथ चले गए.
बड़ी भीड़ भी उनके पीछे-पीछे चल रही थी और लोग उन पर गिरे पड़ रहे थे.
25 एक स्त्री बारह वर्ष से रक्तस्राव से पीड़ित थी. 26 अनेक चिकित्सकों के हाथों उसने अनेक पीड़ाएं सही थीं. इसमें वह अपना सब कुछ व्यय कर चुकी थी फिर भी इससे उसे लाभ के बदले हानि ही उठानी पड़ी थी. 27 मसीह येशु के विषय में सुन कर उसने भीड़ में उनके पीछे आ कर उनका वस्त्र छुआ. 28 उसका यह विश्वास था: “यदि मैं उनके वस्त्र को छू भर लूँ तो मैं स्वस्थ हो जाऊँगी.” 29 उसी क्षण उसका रक्तस्राव थम गया. स्वयं उसे अपने शरीर में यह मालूम हो गया कि वह अपनी पीड़ा से ठीक हो चुकी है.
30 उसी क्षण मसीह येशु को भी यह आभास हुआ कि उनमें से सामर्थ्य निकली है. भीड़ में ही उन्होंने मुड़ कर प्रश्न किया, “कौन है वह, जिसने मेरे वस्त्र को छुआ है?”
31 शिष्यों ने उनसे कहा, “आप तो देख ही रहे हैं कि किस प्रकार भीड़ आप पर गिरी पड़ रही है और आप प्रश्न कर रहे हैं, ‘कौन है वह, जिसने मेरे वस्त्र को छुआ है’!”
32 प्रभु की दृष्टि उसे खोजने लगी, जिसने यह किया था. 33 वह स्त्री यह जानते हुए कि उसके साथ क्या हुआ है, भय से काँपती हुई उनके चरणों पर आ गिरी और उन पर सारी सच्चाई प्रकट कर दी. 34 मसीह येशु ने उस स्त्री से कहा, “पुत्री, तुम्हारे विश्वास ने तुम्हें स्वस्थ किया है. शान्ति में विदा हो जाओ और स्वस्थ रहो.”
35 जब मसीह येशु यह कह ही रहे थे, याइरॉस के घर से आए कुछ लोगों ने यह सूचना दी, “आपकी पुत्री की मृत्यु हो चुकी है. अब गुरुवर को कष्ट देने का क्या लाभ?”
36 मसीह येशु ने यह सुन उस यहूदी सभागृह अधिकारी से कहा, “भयभीत न हो—केवल विश्वास करो.”
37 उन्होंने पेतरॉस, याक़ोब तथा याक़ोब के भाई योहन के अतिरिक्त अन्य किसी को भी अपने साथ आने की अनुमति न दी 38 और ये सब यहूदी सभागृह अधिकारी के घर पर पहुँचे. मसीह येशु ने देखा कि वहाँ शोर मचा हुआ है तथा लोग ऊँची आवाज़ में रो-पीट रहे हैं. 39 घर में प्रवेश कर मसीह येशु ने उन्हें सम्बोधित करते हुए कहा, “यह शोर और रोना-पीटना क्यों! बच्ची की मृत्यु नहीं हुई है—वह केवल सो रही है.” 40 यह सुन वे मसीह येशु का ठठ्ठा करने लगे, किन्तु मसीह येशु ने उन सभी को वहाँ से बाहर निकाल बच्ची के पिता तथा अपने साथियों को साथ ले उस कक्ष में प्रवेश किया, जहाँ वह बालिका थी.
41 वहाँ उन्होंने बालिका का हाथ पकड़ कर उससे कहा, “तालीथा कोऊम” अर्थात् बालिके, उठो! 42 उसी क्षण वह उठ खड़ी हुई और चलने-फिरने लगी. इस पर वे सभी चकित रह गए. बालिका की आयु बारह वर्ष थी. 43 मसीह येशु ने उन्हें स्पष्ट आदेश दिए कि इस घटना के विषय में कोई भी जानने न पाए और फिर उनसे कहा कि उस बालिका को खाने के लिए कुछ दिया जाए.

L'indemoniato garaseno
5 Intanto giunsero all'altra riva del mare, nella regione dei Gerasèni. 2 Come scese dalla barca, gli venne incontro dai sepolcri un uomo posseduto da uno spirito immondo. 3 Egli aveva la sua dimora nei sepolcri e nessuno più riusciva a tenerlo legato neanche con catene, 4 perché più volte era stato legato con ceppi e catene, ma aveva sempre spezzato le catene e infranto i ceppi, e nessuno più riusciva a domarlo. 5 Continuamente, notte e giorno, tra i sepolcri e sui monti, gridava e si percuoteva con pietre. 6 Visto Gesù da lontano, accorse, gli si gettò ai piedi, 7 e urlando a gran voce disse: «Che hai tu in comune con me, Gesù, Figlio del Dio altissimo? Ti scongiuro, in nome di Dio, non tormentarmi!». 8 Gli diceva infatti: «Esci, spirito immondo, da quest'uomo!». 9 E gli domandò: «Come ti chiami?». «Mi chiamo Legione, gli rispose, perché siamo in molti». 10 E prese a scongiurarlo con insistenza perché non lo cacciasse fuori da quella regione.
11 Ora c'era là, sul monte, un numeroso branco di porci al pascolo. 12 E gli spiriti lo scongiurarono: «Mandaci da quei porci, perché entriamo in essi». 13 Glielo permise. E gli spiriti immondi uscirono ed entrarono nei porci e il branco si precipitò dal burrone nel mare; erano circa duemila e affogarono uno dopo l'altro nel mare. 14 I mandriani allora fuggirono, portarono la notizia in città e nella campagna e la gente si mosse a vedere che cosa fosse accaduto.
15 Giunti che furono da Gesù, videro l'indemoniato seduto, vestito e sano di mente, lui che era stato posseduto dalla Legione, ed ebbero paura. 16 Quelli che avevano visto tutto, spiegarono loro che cosa era accaduto all'indemoniato e il fatto dei porci. 17 Ed essi si misero a pregarlo di andarsene dal loro territorio. 18 Mentre risaliva nella barca, colui che era stato indemoniato lo pregava di permettergli di stare con lui. 19 Non glielo permise, ma gli disse: «Và nella tua casa, dai tuoi, annunzia loro ciò che il Signore ti ha fatto e la misericordia che ti ha usato». 20 Egli se ne andò e si mise a proclamare per la Decàpoli ciò che Gesù gli aveva fatto, e tutti ne erano meravigliati.
Guarigione dell'emorragica e risurrezione della figlia di Giairo
21 Essendo passato di nuovo Gesù all'altra riva, gli si radunò attorno molta folla, ed egli stava lungo il mare. 22 Si recò da lui uno dei capi della sinagoga, di nome Giàiro, il quale, vedutolo, gli si gettò ai piedi 23 e lo pregava con insistenza: «La mia figlioletta è agli estremi; vieni a imporle le mani perché sia guarita e viva». 24 Gesù andò con lui. Molta folla lo seguiva e gli si stringeva intorno.
25 Or una donna, che da dodici anni era affetta da emorragia 26 e aveva molto sofferto per opera di molti medici, spendendo tutti i suoi averi senza nessun vantaggio, anzi peggiorando, 27 udito parlare di Gesù, venne tra la folla, alle sue spalle, e gli toccò il mantello. Diceva infatti: 28 «Se riuscirò anche solo a toccare il suo mantello, sarò guarita». 29 E subito le si fermò il flusso di sangue, e sentì nel suo corpo che era stata guarita da quel male.
30 Ma subito Gesù, avvertita la potenza che era uscita da lui, si voltò alla folla dicendo: «Chi mi ha toccato il mantello?». 31 I discepoli gli dissero: «Tu vedi la folla che ti si stringe attorno e dici: Chi mi ha toccato?». 32 Egli intanto guardava intorno, per vedere colei che aveva fatto questo. 33 E la donna impaurita e tremante, sapendo ciò che le era accaduto, venne, gli si gettò davanti e gli disse tutta la verità. 34 Gesù rispose: «Figlia, la tua fede ti ha salvata. Và in pace e sii guarita dal tuo male».
35 Mentre ancora parlava, dalla casa del capo della sinagoga vennero a dirgli: «Tua figlia è morta. Perché disturbi ancora il Maestro?». 36 Ma Gesù, udito quanto dicevano, disse al capo della sinagoga: «Non temere, continua solo ad aver fede!». 37 E non permise a nessuno di seguirlo fuorchè a Pietro, Giacomo e Giovanni, fratello di Giacomo. 38 Giunsero alla casa del capo della sinagoga ed egli vide trambusto e gente che piangeva e urlava. 39 Entrato, disse loro: «Perché fate tanto strepito e piangete? La bambina non è morta, ma dorme». 40 Ed essi lo deridevano. Ma egli, cacciati tutti fuori, prese con sé il padre e la madre della fanciulla e quelli che erano con lui, ed entrò dove era la bambina. 41 Presa la mano della bambina, le disse: «Talità kum», che significa: «Fanciulla, io ti dico, alzati!». 42 Subito la fanciulla si alzò e si mise a camminare; aveva dodici anni. Essi furono presi da grande stupore. 43 Gesù raccomandò loro con insistenza che nessuno venisse a saperlo e ordinò di darle da mangiare.

Vindecarea unui îndrăcit
5 Au(A) ajuns pe celălalt ţărm al mării, în ţinutul gadarenilor. 2 Când a ieşit Isus din corabie, L-a întâmpinat îndată un om care ieşea din morminte, stăpânit de un duh necurat. 3 Omul acesta îşi avea locuinţa în morminte şi nimeni nu mai putea să-l ţină legat, nici chiar cu un lanţ. 4 Căci de multe ori fusese legat cu picioarele în obezi şi cu cătuşe la mâini, dar rupsese cătuşele şi sfărâmase obezile, şi nimeni nu-l putea domoli. 5 Totdeauna, zi şi noapte, stătea în morminte şi pe munţi, ţipând şi tăindu-se cu pietre. 6 Când a văzut pe Isus de departe, a alergat, I s-a închinat 7 şi a strigat cu glas tare: „Ce am eu a face cu Tine, Isuse, Fiul Dumnezeului Celui Preaînalt? Te jur în Numele lui Dumnezeu să nu mă chinuieşti!” 8 Căci Isus îi zicea: „Duh necurat, ieşi din omul acesta!” 9 „Care-ţi este numele?” l-a întrebat Isus. „Numele meu este Legiune, a răspuns el, pentru că suntem mulţi.” 10 Şi Îl ruga stăruitor să nu-i trimită afară din ţinutul acela. 11 Acolo, lângă munte, era o turmă mare de porci, care păşteau. 12 Şi dracii L-au rugat şi au zis: „Trimite-ne în porcii aceia, ca să intrăm în ei”. 13 Isus le-a dat voie. Şi duhurile necurate au ieşit şi au intrat în porci; şi turma s-a repezit de pe râpă în mare. Erau aproape două mii şi s-au înecat în mare. 14 Porcarii au fugit şi au dat de ştire în cetate şi prin satele vecine. Oamenii au ieşit să vadă ce s-a întâmplat. 15 Au venit la Isus, şi iată pe cel ce fusese îndrăcit şi avusese legiunea de draci şezând jos îmbrăcat şi întreg la minte; şi s-au înspăimântat. 16 Cei ce văzuseră cele întâmplate, le-au povestit tot ce se petrecuse cu cel îndrăcit şi cu porcii. 17 Atunci au(B) început să roage pe Isus să plece din ţinutul lor. 18 Pe când Se suia El în corabie, omul(C) care fusese îndrăcit Îl ruga să-l lase să rămână cu El. 19 Isus nu i-a dat voie, ci i-a zis: „Du-te acasă la ai tăi şi povesteşte-le tot ce ţi-a făcut Domnul şi cum a avut milă de tine”. 20 El a plecat şi a început să vestească prin Decapole tot ce-i făcuse Isus. Şi toţi se minunau.
Învierea fiicei lui Iair şi vindecarea unei femei bolnave de doisprezece ani
21 După(D) ce a trecut Isus iarăşi de cealaltă parte cu corabia, s-a adunat mult norod în jurul Lui. El stătea lângă mare. 22 Atunci(E) a venit unul din fruntaşii sinagogii, numit Iair. Cum L-a văzut, fruntaşul s-a aruncat la picioarele Lui 23 şi I-a făcut următoarea rugăminte stăruitoare: „Fetiţa mea trage să moară; rogu-Te, vino de-Ţi pune mâinile peste ea, ca să se facă sănătoasă şi să trăiască”. 24 Isus a plecat împreună cu el. Şi după El mergea mult norod şi-L îmbulzea. 25 Şi era o femeie care de doisprezece ani avea(F) o scurgere de sânge. 26 Ea suferise mult de la mulţi doctori, cheltuise tot ce avea şi nu simţise nicio uşurare, ba încă îi era mai rău. 27 A auzit vorbindu-se despre Isus, a venit pe dinapoi prin mulţime şi s-a atins de haina Lui. 28 Căci îşi zicea ea: „Dacă aş putea doar să mă ating de haina Lui, mă voi tămădui”. 29 Şi îndată, a secat izvorul sângelui ei. Şi a simţit în tot trupul ei că s-a tămăduit de boală. 30 Isus a cunoscut îndată că o putere(G) ieşise din El şi, întorcându-Se spre mulţime, a zis: „Cine s-a atins de hainele Mele?” 31 Ucenicii I-au zis: „Vezi că mulţimea Te îmbulzeşte şi mai zici: ‘Cine s-a atins de Mine’?” 32 El se uita de jur împrejur să vadă pe cea care făcuse lucrul acesta. 33 Femeia, înfricoşată şi tremurând, căci ştia ce se petrecuse în ea, a venit de s-a aruncat la picioarele Lui şi I-a spus tot adevărul. 34 Dar Isus i-a zis: „Fiică, credinţa(H) ta te-a mântuit; du-te în pace şi fii tămăduită de boala ta”. 35 Pe când vorbea El încă(I), iată că vin nişte oameni de la fruntaşul sinagogii, care-i spun: „Fiica ta a murit, pentru ce mai superi pe Învăţătorul?” 36 Dar Isus, fără să ţină seamă de cuvintele acestea, a zis fruntaşului sinagogii: „Nu te teme, crede numai!” 37 Şi n-a îngăduit nimănui să-L însoţească, afară de Petru, Iacov şi Ioan, fratele lui Iacov. 38 Au ajuns la casa fruntaşului sinagogii. Acolo, Isus a văzut o zarvă şi pe unii care plângeau şi se tânguiau mult. 39 A intrat înăuntru şi le-a zis: „Pentru ce faceţi atâta zarvă şi pentru ce plângeţi? Copila n-a murit, ci doarme(J).” 40 Ei îşi băteau joc de El. Atunci(K), după ce i-a scos afară pe toţi, a luat cu El pe tatăl copilei, pe mama ei şi pe cei ce-L însoţiseră şi a intrat acolo unde zăcea copila. 41 A apucat-o de mână şi i-a zis: „Talita cumi”, care, tălmăcit, înseamnă: „Fetiţo, scoală-te, îţi zic!” 42 Îndată, fetiţa s-a sculat şi a început să umble, căci era de doisprezece ani. Ei au rămas încremeniţi. 43 Isus le-a(L) poruncit cu tărie să nu ştie nimeni lucrul acesta şi a zis să dea de mâncare fetiţei.

Jesus Restores a Demon-Possessed Man(A)(B)
5 They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.[a] 2 When Jesus got out of the boat,(C) a man with an impure spirit(D) came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me,(E) Jesus, Son of the Most High God?(F) In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”
9 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“My name is Legion,”(G) he replied, “for we are many.” 10 And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.
11 A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. 12 The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.” 13 He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.
14 Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. 15 When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion(H) of demons,(I) sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 16 Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man—and told about the pigs as well. 17 Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.
18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. 19 Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them(J) how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis[b](K) how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.
Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman(L)
21 When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake,(M) a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake.(N) 22 Then one of the synagogue leaders,(O) named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet. 23 He pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on(P) her so that she will be healed and live.” 24 So Jesus went with him.
A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding(Q) for twelve years. 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes,(R) I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.(S)
30 At once Jesus realized that power(T) had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”
32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you.(U) Go in peace(V) and be freed from your suffering.”
35 While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader.(W) “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”
36 Overhearing[c] what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
37 He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James.(X) 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader,(Y) Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.”(Z) 40 But they laughed at him.
After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41 He took her by the hand(AA) and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).(AB) 42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. 43 He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this,(AC) and told them to give her something to eat.
