बीज और भूमि का दृष्टान्त
(मत्ति 13:1-9; लूकॉ 8:4-8)
4 एक बार फिर मसीह येशु ने झील तट पर शिक्षा देना प्रारम्भ किया. ऐसी बड़ी भीड़ उनके आस-पास इकठ्ठी हो गयी कि उन्हें झील तट पर लगी एक नाव में जा कर बैठना पड़ा और भीड़ झील तट पर खड़ी रही. 2 वह अनेक विषयों को दृष्टान्तों के माध्यम से स्पष्ट करने लगे. शिक्षा देते हुए उन्होंने कहा, 3 “ध्यानपूर्वक सुनो: एक बीज बोने वाले ने बीज बोना शुरू किया. 4 इस प्रक्रिया में कुछ बीज मार्ग के किनारे जा गिरे जिन्हें पक्षियों ने आ कर चुग लिया. 5 कुछ बीज पथरीली भूमि पर गिरे. वहाँ मिट्टी काफी न थी. वे जल्द ही अंकुरित हो गए क्योंकि मिट्टी गहरी न थी. 6 सूर्य निकलने पर उसकी गर्मी में वे झुलस गए तथा जड़ न पकड़ने के कारण मुरझा गए. 7 कुछ अन्य बीज कँटीली झाड़ियों में गिरे और कँटीली झाड़ियों ने उन्हें दबा दिया और उनसे कोई फल उत्पन्न न हुआ. 8 कुछ अन्य बीज अच्छी भूमि पर जा गिरे, अंकुरित हो बड़े हुए तथा उनमें तीस गुणा, साठ गुणा तथा सौ गुणा फसल हुई.”
9 मसीह येशु ने आगे कहा, “जिस किसी के सुनने के कान हों, वह सुन ले.”
10 जैसे ही शिष्यों और अन्य साथियों ने मसीह येशु को अकेला पाया, उन्होंने मसीह येशु से दृष्टान्तों के विषय में पूछा. 11 मसीह येशु ने उनसे कहा, “तुम्हें तो परमेश्वर के राज्य का भेद सौंपा गया है किन्तु अन्यों को सब कुछ दृष्टान्तों के माध्यम से समझाया जाता है 12 क्योंकि,
“वे देखते तो हैं किन्तु उन्हें कुछ दिखता नहीं,
वे सुनते तो हैं किन्तु कुछ समझ नहीं पाते ऐसा न हो वे मेरे पास लौट आते और क्षमा प्राप्त कर लेते!”
13 तब मसीह येशु ने उनसे प्रश्न किया, “क्या यह दृष्टान्त तुम्हारी समझ में नहीं आया? तब तुम अन्य सब दृष्टान्तों का अर्थ कैसे समझोगे? 14 बीज बोने वाला परमेश्वर के सुसमाचार को बोता है. 15 मार्ग के किनारे की भूमि वे लोग हैं, जिनमें सुसमाचार बोया तो जाता है किन्तु जैसे ही वे उसे सुनते हैं शैतान आ कर उस बोये हुए सुसमाचार को उठा ले जाता है. 16 इसी प्रकार पथरीली भूमि वे लोग हैं, जिनमें सुसमाचार बोया जाता है और वे इसे तुरन्त खुशी से अपना लेते हैं. 17 उनमें स्थायी जड़ें तो होती नहीं इसलिए जब सुसमाचार के कारण उन पर कष्ट और अत्याचारों का प्रहार होता है, वे शीघ्र ही पीछे हट जाते हैं. 18 अन्य लोग उस भूमि के समान हैं, जहाँ सुसमाचार काँटों के बीच बोया जाता है. वे सुसमाचार को सुनते हैं, 19 संसार की चिन्ताएँ, धन-सम्पत्ति का छलावा तथा अन्य वस्तुओं की लालसाओं का प्रवेश उस सुसमाचार को दबा देता है, जिससे उसका फलदाई होना असम्भव हो जाता है. 20 अन्य लोग उस बीज के समान हैं, जो उत्तम भूमि में बोया जाता है. वे सुसमाचार सुनते हैं, उसे ग्रहण करते हैं तथा उनमें फल आता है—तीस गुणा, साठ गुणा तथा सौ गुणा.”
दीपक का दृष्टान्त
21 मसीह येशु ने आगे कहा, “दीपक को इसलिए नहीं जलाया जाता कि उसे टोकरी या चारपाई के नीचे रख दिया जाए. क्या उसे दीवट पर नहीं रखा जाता? 22 ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं, जो छुपा है और खोला न जाएगा और न कुछ गुप्त है, जो प्रकाश में न लाया जाएगा. 23 जिस किसी के सुनने के कान हों, वह सुन ले.”
24 इसके बाद मसीह येशु ने कहा, “इसका विशेष ध्यान रखो कि तुम क्या सुनते हो. तुम्हारा नापना उसी नाप से किया जाएगा जिसका इस्तेमाल स्वयं तुम करते हो—तुम्हें ज़रूर इससे भी अधिक दिया जाएगा. 25 जिसके पास है उसे और भी अधिक दिया जाएगा; जिसके पास नहीं है, उससे वह भी ले लिया जाएगा, जो उसके पास है.”
विकसित होते बीज का दृष्टान्त
26 मसीह येशु ने आगे कहा, “परमेश्वर का राज्य उस व्यक्ति के समान है, जिसने भूमि पर बीज डाल दिया 27 और रात में जा कर सो गया. प्रातः उठ कर उसने देखा कि बीज अंकुरित हो कर बड़ा हो रहा है. कैसी होती है यह प्रक्रिया, यह वह स्वयं नहीं जानता. 28 भूमि स्वयं उपज उत्पन्न करती है. सबसे पहले आती हैं पत्तियाँ, फिर बालें उसके बाद बालों में दाना. 29 दाना पड़ने पर वह उसे बिना देरी किए काट लेता है क्योंकि उपज तैयार है.”
राई के बीज का दृष्टान्त
(मत्ति 13:31, 32)
30 तब मसीह येशु ने आगे कहा, “परमेश्वर के राज्य की तुलना किससे की जा सकती है? किस दृष्टान्त के द्वारा इसे स्पष्ट किया जा सकता है? 31 यह राई के बीज के समान है. जब यह भूमि में बोया जाता है, यह बोये गए अन्य सभी बीजों की तुलना में छोटा होता है 32 फिर भी बोये जाने पर यह बड़ा होना शुरू कर देता है तथा खेत के सभी पौधों से अधिक बड़ा हो जाता है—इतना कि आकाश के पक्षी उसकी छाया में बसेरा कर सकते हैं.”
33 सुनने वालों की समझ के अनुसार मसीह येशु इसी प्रकार के दृष्टान्तों के द्वारा अपना सुसमाचार प्रस्तुत करते थे; 34 बिना दृष्टान्त के वह उनसे कुछ भी नहीं कहते थे, और वह अपने शिष्यों के लिए इनका अर्थ तभी बताया करते थे, जब शिष्य उनके साथ अकेले होते थे.
बवण्डर को शान्त करना
(मत्ति 8:23-27; लूकॉ 8:22-25)
35 उसी दिन शाम के समय में मसीह येशु ने शिष्यों से कहा, “चलो, उस पार चलें.” 36 भीड़ को वहीं छोड़, उन्होंने मसीह येशु को, वह जैसे थे वैसे ही, अपने साथ नाव में ले तुरन्त चल दिए. कुछ अन्य नावें भी उनके साथ हो लीं. 37 उसी समय हवा बहुत तेज़ी से चलने लगी. तेज़ लहरों के थपेड़ों के कारण नाव में पानी भरने लगा. 38 मसीह येशु नाव के पिछले भाग में तकिया लगाए हुए सो रहे थे. उन्हें जगाते हुए शिष्य बोले, “गुरुवर! आपको हमारी चिन्ता ही नहीं कि हम नाश हुए जा रहे हैं!”
39 मसीह येशु जाग गए. उन्होंने बवण्डर को डाँटा तथा लहरों को आज्ञा दी, “शान्त हो जाओ! स्थिर हो जाओ!” बवण्डर शान्त हो गया तथा पूरी शान्ति छा गई.
40 मसीह येशु शिष्यों को देखकर बोले, “क्यों इतने भयभीत हो तुम? क्या कारण है कि तुममें अब तक विश्वास नहीं?”
41 शिष्य अत्यन्त भयभीत थे. वे आपस में कहने लगे, “कौन है यह कि बवण्डर और झील[a] तक इनका आज्ञापालन करते हैं!”

Parabola del seminatore
4 Di nuovo si mise a insegnare lungo il mare. E si riunì attorno a lui una folla enorme, tanto che egli salì su una barca e là restò seduto, stando in mare, mentre la folla era a terra lungo la riva. 2 Insegnava loro molte cose in parabole e diceva loro nel suo insegnamento: 3 «Ascoltate. Ecco, uscì il seminatore a seminare. 4 Mentre seminava, una parte cadde lungo la strada e vennero gli uccelli e la divorarono. 5 Un'altra cadde fra i sassi, dove non c'era molta terra, e subito spuntò perché non c'era un terreno profondo; 6 ma quando si levò il sole, restò bruciata e, non avendo radice, si seccò. 7 Un'altra cadde tra le spine; le spine crebbero, la soffocarono e non diede frutto. 8 E un'altra cadde sulla terra buona, diede frutto che venne su e crebbe, e rese ora il trenta, ora il sessanta e ora il cento per uno». 9 E diceva: «Chi ha orecchi per intendere intenda!».
Perché Gesù parla in parabole
10 Quando poi fu solo, i suoi insieme ai Dodici lo interrogavano sulle parabole. Ed egli disse loro: 11 «A voi è stato confidato il mistero del regno di Dio; a quelli di fuori invece tutto viene esposto in parabole, 12 perché:
guardino, ma non vedano, ascoltino, ma non intendano,
perché non si convertano e venga loro perdonato».
Spiegazione della parabola del seminatore
13 Continuò dicendo loro: «Se non comprendete questa parabola, come potrete capire tutte le altre parabole? 14 Il seminatore semina la parola. 15 Quelli lungo la strada sono coloro nei quali viene seminata la parola; ma quando l'ascoltano, subito viene satana, e porta via la parola seminata in loro. 16 Similmente quelli che ricevono il seme sulle pietre sono coloro che, quando ascoltano la parola, subito l'accolgono con gioia, 17 ma non hanno radice in se stessi, sono incostanti e quindi, al sopraggiungere di qualche tribolazione o persecuzione a causa della parola, subito si abbattono. 18 Altri sono quelli che ricevono il seme tra le spine: sono coloro che hanno ascoltato la parola, 19 ma sopraggiungono le preoccupazioni del mondo e l'inganno della ricchezza e tutte le altre bramosie, soffocano la parola e questa rimane senza frutto. 20 Quelli poi che ricevono il seme su un terreno buono, sono coloro che ascoltano la parola, l'accolgono e portano frutto nella misura chi del trenta, chi del sessanta, chi del cento per uno».
Come ricevere e trasmettere l'insegnamento di Gesù
21 Diceva loro: «Si porta forse la lampada per metterla sotto il moggio o sotto il letto? O piuttosto per metterla sul lucerniere? 22 Non c'è nulla infatti di nascosto che non debba essere manifestato e nulla di segreto che non debba essere messo in luce. 23 Se uno ha orecchi per intendere, intenda!».
24 Diceva loro: «Fate attenzione a quello che udite: Con la stessa misura con la quale misurate, sarete misurati anche voi; anzi vi sarà dato di più. 25 Poiché a chi ha, sarà dato e a chi non ha, sarà tolto anche quello che ha».
Parabola del seme che spunta da solo
26 Diceva: «Il regno di Dio è come un uomo che getta il seme nella terra; 27 dorma o vegli, di notte o di giorno, il seme germoglia e cresce; come, egli stesso non lo sa. 28 Poiché la terra produce spontaneamente, prima lo stelo, poi la spiga, poi il chicco pieno nella spiga. 29 Quando il frutto è pronto, subito si mette mano alla falce, perché è venuta la mietitura».
Parabola del grano di senapa
30 Diceva: «A che cosa possiamo paragonare il regno di Dio o con quale parabola possiamo descriverlo? 31 Esso è come un granellino di senapa che, quando viene seminato per terra, è il più piccolo di tutti semi che sono sulla terra; 32 ma appena seminato cresce e diviene più grande di tutti gli ortaggi e fa rami tanto grandi che gli uccelli del cielo possono ripararsi alla sua ombra».
Conclusione sulle parabole
33 Con molte parabole di questo genere annunziava loro la parola secondo quello che potevano intendere. 34 Senza parabole non parlava loro; ma in privato, ai suoi discepoli, spiegava ogni cosa.
La tempesta sedata
35 In quel medesimo giorno, verso sera, disse loro: «Passiamo all'altra riva». 36 E lasciata la folla, lo presero con sé, così com'era, nella barca. C'erano anche altre barche con lui. 37 Nel frattempo si sollevò una gran tempesta di vento e gettava le onde nella barca, tanto che ormai era piena. 38 Egli se ne stava a poppa, sul cuscino, e dormiva. Allora lo svegliarono e gli dissero: «Maestro, non t'importa che moriamo?». 39 Destatosi, sgridò il vento e disse al mare: «Taci, calmati!». Il vento cessò e vi fu grande bonaccia. 40 Poi disse loro: «Perché siete così paurosi? Non avete ancora fede?». 41 E furono presi da grande timore e si dicevano l'un l'altro: «Chi è dunque costui, al quale anche il vento e il mare obbediscono?».

Pilda semănătorului
4 Isus a început iarăşi(A) să înveţe pe norod lângă mare. Fiindcă se adunase foarte mult norod la El, S-a suit şi a şezut într-o corabie, pe mare; iar tot norodul stătea pe ţărm lângă mare. 2 Apoi a început să-i înveţe multe lucruri în pilde; şi(B), în învăţătura pe care le-o dădea, le spunea: 3 „Ascultaţi! Iată, semănătorul a ieşit să semene. 4 Pe când semăna, o parte din sămânţă a căzut lângă drum: au venit păsările şi au mâncat-o. 5 O altă parte a căzut pe un loc stâncos, unde n-avea mult pământ: a răsărit îndată, pentru că n-a dat de un pământ adânc, 6 dar, când a răsărit soarele, s-a pălit şi, pentru că n-avea rădăcină, s-a uscat. 7 O altă parte a căzut între spini: spinii au crescut, au înecat-o şi n-a dat rod. 8 O altă parte a căzut în pământ bun: a dat(C) rod, care se înălţa şi creştea şi a adus una treizeci, alta şaizeci şi alta o sută.” 9 Apoi a zis: „Cine are urechi de auzit să audă”. 10 Când(D) a fost singur, cei ce erau în jurul Lui, împreună cu cei doisprezece, L-au întrebat despre pilde. 11 „Vouă”, le-a zis El, „v-a fost dat să cunoaşteţi taina Împărăţiei lui Dumnezeu, dar pentru cei ce(E) sunt afară din numărul vostru, toate lucrurile sunt înfăţişate în pilde, 12 pentru ca(F) , măcar că privesc, să privească şi să nu vadă şi, măcar că aud, să audă şi să nu înţeleagă, ca nu cumva să se întoarcă la Dumnezeu şi să li se ierte păcatele.” 13 El le-a mai zis: „Nu înţelegeţi pilda aceasta? Cum veţi înţelege atunci toate celelalte pilde? 14 Semănătorul(G) seamănă Cuvântul. 15 Cei înfăţişaţi prin sămânţa căzută lângă drum sunt aceia în care este semănat Cuvântul, dar, după ce l-au auzit, vine Satana îndată şi ia Cuvântul semănat în ei. 16 Tot aşa, cei înfăţişaţi prin sămânţa căzută în locurile stâncoase sunt aceia care, când aud Cuvântul, îl primesc îndată cu bucurie, 17 dar n-au rădăcină în ei, ci ţin până la o vreme şi, cum vine un necaz sau o prigonire din pricina Cuvântului, se leapădă îndată de el. 18 Alţii sunt cei înfăţişaţi prin sămânţa căzută între spini; aceştia sunt cei ce aud Cuvântul, 19 dar năvălesc în ei grijile lumii, înşelăciunea(H) bogăţiilor şi poftele altor lucruri, care îneacă Cuvântul şi-l fac astfel neroditor. 20 Alţii, apoi, sunt înfăţişaţi prin sămânţa căzută în pământ bun. Aceştia sunt cei ce aud Cuvântul, îl primesc şi fac rod: unul treizeci, altul şaizeci şi altul o sută.”
Lumina
21 El(I) le-a mai zis: „Oare lumina este adusă ca să fie pusă sub baniţă sau sub pat? Nu este adusă ca să fie pusă în sfeşnic? 22 Căci(J) nu este nimic ascuns care nu va fi descoperit şi nimic tăinuit care nu va ieşi la lumină. 23 Dacă(K) are cineva urechi de auzit, să audă.” 24 El le-a mai zis: „Luaţi seama la ce auziţi. Cu(L) ce măsură veţi măsura, vi se va măsura şi vi se va da şi mai mult. 25 Căci(M), celui ce are, i se va da; dar, de la cel ce n-are, se va lua şi ce are.”
Pilda cu sămânţa
26 El a mai zis: „Cu(N) Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu este ca atunci când aruncă un om sămânţa în pământ; 27 fie că doarme noaptea, fie că stă treaz ziua, sămânţa încolţeşte şi creşte fără să ştie el cum. 28 Pământul rodeşte singur: întâi un fir verde, apoi spic, după aceea grâu deplin în spic 29 şi, când este coaptă roada, pune(O) îndată secera în ea, pentru că a venit secerişul.”
Pilda grăuntelui de muştar
30 El a mai zis: „Cu(P) ce vom asemăna Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, sau prin ce pildă o vom înfăţişa? 31 Se aseamănă cu un grăunte de muştar, care, când este semănat în pământ, este cea mai mică dintre toate seminţele de pe pământ, 32 dar, după ce a fost semănat, creşte şi se face mai mare decât toate zarzavaturile şi face ramuri mari, aşa că păsările cerului îşi pot face cuiburi la umbra lui.” 33 Isus(Q) le vestea Cuvântul prin multe pilde de felul acesta, după cum erau ei în stare să-L priceapă. 34 Nu le vorbea deloc fără pildă, dar, când era singur la o parte, lămurea ucenicilor Săi toate lucrurile.
Potolirea furtunii
35 În(R) aceeaşi zi, seara, Isus le-a zis: „Să trecem în partea cealaltă”. 36 După ce au dat drumul norodului, ucenicii L-au luat în corabia în care se afla şi aşa cum era. Împreună cu El mai erau şi alte corăbii. 37 S-a stârnit o mare furtună de vânt, care arunca valurile în corabie, aşa că mai că se umplea corabia. 38 Şi El dormea la cârmă pe căpătâi. Ucenicii L-au deşteptat şi I-au zis: „Învăţătorule, nu-Ţi pasă că pierim?” 39 El S-a sculat, a certat vântul şi a zis mării: „Taci! Fără gură!” Vântul a stat şi s-a făcut o linişte mare. 40 Apoi le-a zis: „Pentru ce sunteţi aşa de fricoşi? Tot n-aveţi credinţă?” 41 I-a apucat o mare frică şi ziceau unii către alţii: „Cine este acesta de Îl ascultă chiar şi vântul, şi marea?”

The Parable of the Sower(A)(B)
4 Again Jesus began to teach by the lake.(C) The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge. 2 He taught them many things by parables,(D) and in his teaching said: 3 “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.(E) 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”(F)
9 Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”(G)
10 When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. 11 He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God(H) has been given to you. But to those on the outside(I) everything is said in parables 12 so that,
“‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’[a]”(J)
13 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable? 14 The farmer sows the word.(K) 15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan(L) comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. 16 Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 18 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth(M) and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. 20 Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”
A Lamp on a Stand
21 He said to them, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand?(N) 22 For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.(O) 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.”(P)
24 “Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.(Q) 25 Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.”(R)
The Parable of the Growing Seed
26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like.(S) A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”(T)
The Parable of the Mustard Seed(U)
30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like,(V) or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”
33 With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand.(W) 34 He did not say anything to them without using a parable.(X) But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.
Jesus Calms the Storm(Y)
35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat.(Z) There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”(AA)
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
