13 समुझदार पूत आपन बाप क सिच्छा पइ कान देत ह। मुला बिद्रोह पूत झिड़की पइ भी धियान नाहीं देत ह। 2 सज्जन आपन वाणी क सुफल क आनंद लेत हीं मुला दुर्जन तउ सदा हिंसा चाहत ह।
3 जउन आपन वाणी क बरे चौकस रहत ह, उ आपन जिन्नगी क रच्छा करत ह। पर जउन गाल बजावत रहत ह, आपन बिनास क पावत ह।
4 आलसी मनइ चिजियन क लालसा करत ह पर कछू नाहीं पावत, मुला एक ठू परिस्रमी क जेतनी भी इच्छी अहइ, पूर्ण होइ जात ह।
5 धर्मी मनई ओहसे घिना करत ह, जउन झूठ अहइ जबकि दुट्ठ लज्जा अउ अपमान लिआवत हीं।
6 सच्चरित्र मनई क रच्छा करइवाली नेकी अहइ; जबकि दुट्ठता पापी मनइयन क नास करत ह।
7 एक ठु मनई जउन धन क देखावा करत ह, किंतु ओकरे लगे कछु भी नाहीं होत ह। किन्तु एक दूसर जउन गरीबी क जिन्नगी गुजारत ह ओकरे लगे बहोत धन होत ह। 8 धनवान क आपन जिन्नगी बचावइ ओकर धन फिरौती मँ लगावइ पड़ी मुला दीन जन कउनो धमकी क भय स अजाद अहइ।
9 धर्मी मनई क जिन्नगी प्रकास क नाईं चमचमात ह। किंतु दुट्ठ मनई क दिया बुझाइ दीन्ह जात ह।
10 अहंकार सिरिफ झगड़न क पनपावत ह। मुला विवेक उ अहइ जउन दूसर क राय क मानत ह।
11 बेइमानी क धन यूँ ही धूरि होइ जाता ह मुला जउन परिस्रम कइके धन संचित करत ह, ओकर धन बाढ़त ह।
12 जदि कउनो आसा नाही होइ तउ मन उदास होइ जात ह, मुला कामना क पूर्ति खुसी देत ह।
13 जउन जन सिच्छा क निरादर करत ह, ओका एकर कीमत चुकावइ क पड़ी। मुला जउन सिच्छा क आदर करत ह, उ तउ एकर प्रतिफल पावत ह।
14 विवेक क सिच्छा जिन्नगी क उद्गम सोता बाटइ, उ लोगन क मउत क फंदे स बचावत ह।
15 उ जउन अच्छा समुझ बूझ रखत ह खियाती अर्जित करत ह, पर विस्सासघात सिरफ विस्साघात ही लावत ह।
16 हर एक विवेकी गियान क साथ काम करत ह, मुला एक मूरख आपन बेवकूफी परगट करत ह।
17 दुट्ठ सन्देसवाहक बिपत्ति मँ पड़त ह, मुला बिस्सास क जोग्ग दूत सांति देत ह।
18 अइसा मनई जउन सिच्छा क उपेच्छा करत ह, ओह पइ लज्जा अउ गरीबी आइ पड़त ह। मुला जउन डाँट फटकार पइ कान देत ह, उ महत्व वाला मनइ होइ जाइ।
19 कउनो इच्छा क पूर होइ जाब मने क मधुर लागत ह। किन्तु मूरखन क बुरा क तजब नाहीं भावत ह।
20 बुद्धिमान क संगति, मनई क बुद्धिमान बनावत ह। किंतु मूरखन क साथी नस्ट होइ जात ह।
21 दुर्भाग्य पापियन क पाछा करत रहत ह; किंतु धर्मियन प्रतिफले मँ खुसहाली पावत हीं।
22 सज्जन आपन नाती-पोतन क धन सम्पत्ति छोड़तह जबकि पापी क धन धर्मियन क खातिर संचित होत रहत ह।
23 दीन जन क खेत भरपूर फसल देत ह, मुला अनिआव ओका बुहार लइ जात ह।
24 जउन आपन पूते क कबहुँ नाहीं दण्डित करत, उ आपन पूत क दुसमन अहइ। मुला जउन आपन पूत स पिरेम करत ह तउ उ ओका अनुसासन मँ राखत ह।
25 धमीर् जन, मने स खात अउर पूरी तरह तृप्त होत हीं किन्तु दुट्ठ क पास प्रयाप्त भोजन नाही होत ह।

13 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction,
but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.(A)
2 From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things,(B)
but the unfaithful have an appetite for violence.
3 Those who guard their lips(C) preserve their lives,(D)
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.(E)
4 A sluggard’s appetite is never filled,(F)
but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
5 The righteous hate what is false,(G)
but the wicked make themselves a stench
and bring shame on themselves.
6 Righteousness guards the person of integrity,
but wickedness overthrows the sinner.(H)
7 One person pretends to be rich, yet has nothing;(I)
another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.(J)
8 A person’s riches may ransom their life,
but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.(K)
9 The light of the righteous shines brightly,
but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.(L)
10 Where there is strife, there is pride,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice.(M)
11 Dishonest money dwindles away,(N)
but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.(O)
15 Good judgment wins favor,
but the way of the unfaithful leads to their destruction.[a]
18 Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame,(Y)
but whoever heeds correction is honored.(Z)
19 A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul,(AA)
but fools detest turning from evil.
20 Walk with the wise and become wise,
for a companion of fools suffers harm.(AB)
22 A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children,
but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.(AF)
23 An unplowed field produces food for the poor,
but injustice sweeps it away.
24 Whoever spares the rod(AG) hates their children,
but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline(AH) them.(AI)
25 The righteous eat to their hearts’ content,
but the stomach of the wicked goes hungry.(AJ)
