بلعام کا تیسرا پیغام
24 بلعام کو معلوم ہوا کہ خداوند اسرا ئیل کو فضل و برکت دینا چا ہتا ہے۔ اسی لئے بلعام کسی طرح کے جا دو منتر کی طرف نہیں مُڑا جیسا کہ اس نے پہلے کیا تھا۔ بلکہ وہ اپنا رُخ ریگستان کی طرف کر لیا۔ 2 بلعام نے ریگستان کے پا ر تک دیکھا اور سبھی بنی اسرا ئیلیوں کو دیکھ لیا وہ الگ الگ اپنے خاندانی گروہ کے علا قے میں خیمہ ڈالے ہو ئے تھے۔ تب خدا کی روح بلعام پر آئی۔ 3 اور بلعام نے یہ الفاظ کہے:
“یہ پیغام بعور کے بیٹے بلعام کی طرف سے۔
میں جن چیزوں کے متعلق کہہ رہا ہوں انہیں صاف دیکھ رہا ہوں۔
4 یہ الفا ظ ویسے ہی کہے گئے تھے جیسے کہ میں نے خدا کے الفا ظ سنے تھے۔
میں ان چیزوں کو دیکھ سکتا ہوں جنکو کہ خدا قادرمطلق نے دیکھنے کی اجا زت دی ہے۔
میں ان چیزوں کو کہتا ہوں جسے میں دیکھ سکتا ہوں۔ جب میں کھلی ہو ئی آنکھوں سے انکے سامنے سجدہ کرتا ہوں۔
5 “یعقوب کے لوگو! تمہا رے خیمے بہت خوبصورت ہیں۔
اے بنی اسرا ئیلیو تمہا رے بسنے کی جگہ بہت خوبصورت ہے۔
6 تمہا رے خیمے وادی کی طرح
ملک کے ایک کونے سے دوسرے کو نے تک پھیلے ہو ئے ہیں۔
یہ ندی کے کنا رے اُگے
باغ کی طرح ہیں۔
یہ خداوند کی طرف سے بوئی گئی
فصل کی طرح ہیں۔
یہ ندیوں کے کنا رے اُگے
دیو دار کے خوبصورت درختوں کی طرح ہیں۔
7 تمہیں پینے کے لئے ہمیشہ پانی ملے گا۔
تمہیں فصلیں اُگا نے کے لئے موافق پانی ملے گا۔
تمہا رے بادشا ہ اجاج سے بڑھ کر ہو ں گے ۔
تیری سلطنت کو عروج حا صل ہو گا۔
8 خدا ان لوگوں کو مصر سے باہر لا یا۔
وہ اتنے طاقتور ہیں جیسے کو ئی جنگلی سانڈ۔
وہ اپنے تمام دشمنوں کو شکست دینگے۔
وہ اپنے دُشمنوں کی ہڈیاں چور کر دینگے۔ وہ اپنے تیروں سے دشمنوں کو مار ڈا لیں گے۔
9 “وہ اُس شیر ببر کی طرح ہیں
جو سو رہا ہے۔
کو ئی آدمی اتنی ہمت وا لا نہیں
جو اسے جگا دے۔
کو ئی آدمی جو تمہیں دعا دے گا
وہ دعا پا ئے گا۔
اور کو ئی آدمی جو تمہیں لعنت دیگا
لعنت پا ئیگا۔”
10 تب بلعام پر بلق بہت غصّہ ہو ا۔ بلق نے بلعام سے کہا ، “میں چا ہتا ہوں کہ تم آؤ اور ہم لوگوں کے دشمنوں پر لعنت کرو۔ لیکن تم نے اُن کو دعا دی ہے۔ تم نے انہیں تین بار دعا دی ہے۔ 11 اب رخصت ہو اور گھر جا ؤ۔ میں نے کہا تھا کہ میں تمہیں بہت زیادہ معاوضہ دونگا۔ لیکن خداوند نے تمہیں انعام حاصل کرنے سے محروم کیا ہے۔”
12 بلعام نے بلق سے کہا ، “تم نے آدمیوں کو میرے پاس بھیجا۔ اُن آدمیوں نے مجھ سے آنے کیلئے کہا لیکن میں نے اُن سے کہا۔ 13 ’بلق اپنا سونے چاندی سے بھرا گھر مجھ کو دے سکتا ہے لیکن میں تب بھی صرف وہی بات کہہ سکتا ہوں۔ جسے کہنے کے لئے خداوند حکم دیتا ہے۔ میں اچھا یا بُرا بالکل کچھ نہیں کرسکتا۔ مجھے وہی کرنا چا ہئے جو خداوند کا حکم ہو۔‘ کیا تمہیں یاد نہیں کہ میں نے یہ باتیں تمہا رے لوگوں سے کہیں ؟ 14 اب میں اپنے لوگوں کے بیچ جا رہا ہوں لیکن تم کو ایک بات کی ہدایت کر نا چا ہتا ہوں۔ میں تم سے کہنا چا ہتا ہوں کہ مستقبل میں بنی اسرا ئیل تمہا رے لوگوں کے ساتھ کیا کریں گے ؟”
بلعام کا آخری پیغام
15 تب بلعام نے یہ باتیں کہیں۔
“بعور کے بیٹے بلعام کے یہ الفاظ ہیں :
یہ اس آدمی کے الفاظ ہیں جو چیزوں کو صاف صاف دیکھ سکتا ہے۔
16 یہ اس آدمی کے الفا ظ ہیں جو خدا کی باتیں سنتا ہے۔
سچے خدانے مجھے علم دیا ہے۔
میں نے وہ دیکھا ہے جسے خدائے تعالیٰ قادرِ مطلق نے مجھے دکھا نا چا ہا ہے۔
میں جو کچھ دیکھتا ہوں وہی سچا ئی کے ساتھ کہتا ہوں۔
17 “میں خداوند کو دیکھتا ہوں لیکن اب نہیں۔
میں اسکو آتا ہوا دیکھتا ہوں لیکن جلد نہیں۔
یعقوب کے خاندان سے ایک ستارہ آئے گا۔
بنی اسرا ئیلیوں میں سے ایک نیا حاکم آئے گا۔
وہ حاکم موآبی لوگوں پر ظلم کریگا اور اسے مار ڈالے گا۔
وہ حاکم شعیر کے سبھی بیٹوں پر ظلم کرے گا اور اسے مار ڈالے گا۔
18 ملک ادوم کی شکست ہو گی۔
نئے بادشاہ کا دُشمن شعیر شکست کھا جا ئے گا۔
بنی اسرا ئیل طاقتور ہو جا ئیں گے۔
19 “یعقوب کے خاندا ن سے ایک نیا حاکم آئے گا۔
شہر میں زندہ بچے تمام لوگوں کو وہ حاکم تباہ کر یگا۔”
20 تب بلعام نے اپنے عمالیقی لوگوں کو دیکھا اور ان سے یہ باتیں کہیں:
“سبھی قومو ں میں عمالیق سب سے پہلی قوم تھی۔
لیکن عما لیق بھی تباہ کیا جا ئے گا۔”
21 تب بلعام نے قینیوں کو دیکھا اور ان سے یہ باتیں کہیں :
“تمہیں بھروسہ ہے کہ تمہا را ملک اسی طرح محفوظ ہے
جیسے کسی اونچے کھڑے پہا ڑ پر بنا گھونسلہ۔”
22 لیکن قینیو! تم تباہ کئے جا ؤ گے۔
اسور تمہیں قیدی بنا ئے گا۔
23 تب بلعام نے یہ الفاظ کہے :
کو ئی آدمی نہیں رہ سکتا جب خدا یہ کرتا ہے۔
24 پر کتّیم کے ساحل سے جہاز آئیں گے۔
وہ جہا ز اسور اور عبر کو شکست دیں گے۔
لیکن وہ لو گ بھی تباہ کر دئے جا ئیں گے۔
25 تب بلعام اٹھا اپنے گھر کو واپس ہو گیا اور بلق نے بھی اپنا رستہ اختیار کیا۔”

24 Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel,(A) he did not resort to divination(B) as at other times, but turned his face toward the wilderness.(C) 2 When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came on him(D) 3 and he spoke his message:
“The prophecy of Balaam son of Beor,
the prophecy of one whose eye sees clearly,(E)
4 the prophecy of one who hears the words of God,(F)
who sees a vision from the Almighty,[a](G)
who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened:
5 “How beautiful are your tents,(H) Jacob,
your dwelling places, Israel!
6 “Like valleys they spread out,
like gardens beside a river,(I)
like aloes(J) planted by the Lord,
like cedars beside the waters.(K)
7 Water will flow from their buckets;
their seed will have abundant water.
8 “God brought them out of Egypt;
they have the strength of a wild ox.
They devour hostile nations
and break their bones in pieces;(N)
with their arrows they pierce them.(O)
9 Like a lion they crouch and lie down,
like a lioness(P)—who dares to rouse them?
10 Then Balak’s anger burned(S) against Balaam. He struck his hands together(T) and said to him, “I summoned you to curse my enemies,(U) but you have blessed them(V) these three times.(W) 11 Now leave at once and go home!(X) I said I would reward you handsomely,(Y) but the Lord has kept you from being rewarded.”
12 Balaam answered Balak, “Did I not tell the messengers you sent me,(Z) 13 ‘Even if Balak gave me all the silver and gold in his palace, I could not do anything of my own accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the Lord(AA)—and I must say only what the Lord says’?(AB) 14 Now I am going back to my people, but come, let me warn you of what this people will do to your people in days to come.”(AC)
Balaam’s Fourth Message
15 Then he spoke his message:
“The prophecy of Balaam son of Beor,
the prophecy of one whose eye sees clearly,
16 the prophecy of one who hears the words(AD) of God,
who has knowledge from the Most High,(AE)
who sees a vision from the Almighty,
who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened:
17 “I see him, but not now;
I behold him, but not near.(AF)
A star will come out of Jacob;(AG)
a scepter will rise out of Israel.(AH)
He will crush the foreheads of Moab,(AI)
the skulls[b](AJ) of[c] all the people of Sheth.[d]
18 Edom(AK) will be conquered;
Seir,(AL) his enemy, will be conquered,(AM)
but Israel(AN) will grow strong.
19 A ruler will come out of Jacob(AO)
and destroy the survivors of the city.”
Balaam’s Fifth Message
20 Then Balaam saw Amalek(AP) and spoke his message:
“Amalek was first among the nations,
but their end will be utter destruction.”(AQ)
Balaam’s Sixth Message
21 Then he saw the Kenites(AR) and spoke his message:
“Your dwelling place is secure,(AS)
your nest is set in a rock;
22 yet you Kenites will be destroyed
when Ashur(AT) takes you captive.”
Balaam’s Seventh Message
23 Then he spoke his message:
“Alas! Who can live when God does this?[e]
24 Ships will come from the shores of Cyprus;(AU)
they will subdue Ashur(AV) and Eber,(AW)
but they too will come to ruin.(AX)”
25 Then Balaam(AY) got up and returned home, and Balak went his own way.

24 And when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
2 And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.
3 And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
4 He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
5 How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!
6 As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as the trees of lign aloes which the Lord hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.
7 He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.
8 God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.
9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
10 And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.
11 Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the Lord hath kept thee back from honour.
12 And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying,
13 If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the Lord, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the Lord saith, that will I speak?
14 And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.
15 And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
16 He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.
18 And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
19 Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.
20 And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.
21 And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.
22 Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
23 And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!
24 And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.
25 And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.
