יג כשיצא ישוע מבית-המקדש באותו יום, אחד מתלמידיו העיר: "רבי, ראה אילו מבנים יפים ואיזו עבודת אבנים נפלאה!"
2 "הבט היטב," ענה לו ישוע, "כי הכול ייהרס ויתמוטט; אף אבן לא תישאר במקומה."
5 ישוע הסביר להם בהרחבה את העומד להתרחש: "אל תתנו לאיש לרמות אתכם! 6 אנשים רבים יבואו ויטענו: 'אני הוא המשיח!' ויוליכו שולל אנשים רבים. 7 במקומות שונים תפרוצנה מלחמות, אך אין זה עדיין הסוף.
8 מדינות וממלכות תילחמנה זו בזו, בארצות רבות יהיו רעידות אדמה ורעב. אותות אלה יציינו רק את תחילת הסבל והייסורים העומדים לבוא. 9 אולם כשיתחילו דברים אלה להתרחש, היזהרו! כי צפויה לכם סכנה גדולה. אויביכם יגררו אתכם בכוח לבתי המשפט, יכו אתכם בבתי-הכנסת, ויאשימו אתכם לפני השלטונות על היותכם תלמידי. אולם זו תהיה לכם הזדמנות לספר להם על הבשורה. 10 אך צריך שקודם הבשורה תוכרז לכל הגויים. 11 כאשר יאסרו אתכם ויעמידו אתכם למשפט, אל תדאגו לעדותכם או להגנתכם מה להגיד, כי מה שיינתן לכם באותה שעה, את זה תגידו; כי לא אתם תדברו, אלא רוח הקודש ידבר בפיכם.
12 אח יבגוד באחיו ויסגירו למוות, אבות יסגירו את ילדיהם, וילדים יסגירו את הוריהם למוות. 13 כולם ישנאו אתכם על היותכם שלי, אבל מי שיחזיק מעמד ולא יתכחש לי ייוושע.
14 כאשר תראו את חילול הקודש בבית-המקדש שעליו דיבר דניאל, (הקורא – שים לב!) ברחו להרי יהודה.
17 אוי לנשים ההרות ולמיניקות. 18 התפללו שכל זה לא יקרה בחורף, 19 כי תקופה זאת תהיה איומה ונוראה; דבר כזה לא קרה מאז בריאת העולם, וגם לא יקרה אחר כך. 20 אם אלוהים לא יקצר את הימים הנוראים האלה – איש לא יינצל. אבל אלוהים אכן יקצר את הסבל למען הבחירים.
21 אם יגיד לכם מישהו: 'ראיתי את המשיח בעיר פלונית!' אל תקשיבו לו, 22 כי משיחי-שקר ונביאי-שקר למיניהם יקומו ויטענו שנשלחו על-ידי ה'. הם אפילו יחוללו ניסים ונפלאות אשר יתעו את האנשים, ואם יוכלו הם יתעו אפילו את הבחירים. 23 ראו הוזהרתם!
24 לאחר שיסתיימו כל הצרות והסבל, השמש לא תזרח, הירח לא יאיר, 25 הכוכבים ייפלו מהשמים וצבא השמים יתמוטט.
26 "ואז כל בני האדם יראו את המשיח בא בעננים, בגבורה ובכבוד. 27 ואני אשלח את המלאכים לאסוף את הבחירים מכל קצוות הארץ. 28 "עץ התאנה ישמש לכם כדוגמה: כאשר הענפים מלבלבים והעלים ירוקים, אתם יודעים שהקיץ קרב. 29 כאשר כל מה שסיפרתי לכם יתחיל להתרחש, דעו לכם שזה קרוב.
30 כן, אלה הם המאורעות שיתרחשו ויציינו את הסוף. 31 השמים והארץ יעברו, אך דברי לא יעברו.
32 איש אינו יודע את היום והשעה של התרחשויות אלה; המלאכים בשמים אינם יודעים זאת, ואפילו אני עצמי איני יודע את המועד המדויק. רק אבי שבשמים יודע זאת! 33 עמדו על המשמר והיו מוכנים, מפני שאינכם יודעים מתי כל זה יתרחש.
34 משל דומה לזה הוא של אדם היוצא למסע בחו"ל. הוא משאיר עבודה לשכיריו לתקופת העדרו, ומצווה על השוער לעמוד על המשמר לקראת שובו בכל רגע.

يَسُوعُ يُنبِّهُ إلَى مصَاعِبَ آتِية
(مَتَّى 24:1-25؛ لُوقَا 21:5-24)
13 وَبَيْنَمَا كَانَ يَسُوعُ يُغَادِرُ سَاحَةَ الهَيْكَلِ، قَالَ لَهُ أحَدُ التَّلَامِيذِ: «يَا مُعَلِّمُ، انْظُرْ إلَى هَذِهِ الحِجَارَةِ الضَّخمَةِ، وَالبِنَاءِ الرَّائِعِ!»
2 فَقَالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «أتَرَى هَذِهِ المَبَانِي العَظِيمَةَ؟ لَا يَبْقَى فِيهَا حَجَرٌ عَلَى حَجَرٍ، بَلْ سَتُهدَمُ كُلُّهَا!»
3 وَكَانَ يَسُوعُ جَالِسًا عَلَى جَبَلِ الزَّيْتُونِ مُقَابِلًا لِلهَيكَلِ، فَسَألَهُ بُطرُسُ وَيَعْقُوبُ وَيُوحَنَّا وَأندَرَاوُسُ عَلَى انفِرَادٍ: 4 «أخبِرْنَا، مَتَى سَتَحْدُثُ هَذِهِ الأُمُورُ؟ وَمَا هِيَ العَلَامَةُ الَّتِي تَدُلُّ عَلَى اقتِرَابِ حُدُوثِهَا؟»
5 فَابْتَدَأ يَسُوعُ يَقُولُ لَهُمْ: «انتَبِهُوا لِئَلَّا تَنْخَدِعُوا. 6 سَيَأْتِي كَثِيرُونَ وَيَنْتَحِلُونَ اسْمِي، فَيَقُولُونَ: ‹أنَا هُوَ.›[a] وَسَيَخْدَعُونَ كَثِيرِينَ. 7 وَعِنْدَمَا تَسْمَعُونَ بِأخْبَارِ الحُرُوبِ وَالثَّورَاتِ، لَا تَخَافُوا. فَلَا بُدَّ أنْ تَحْدُثَ هَذِهِ الأشْيَاءُ، لَكِنَّهَا لَنْ تَكُونَ نِهَايَةَ العَالَمِ بَعْدُ. 8 وَذَلِكَ لِأنَّهُ سَتَقُومُ أُمَّةٌ عَلَى أُمَّةٍ، وَمَملَكَةٌ عَلَى مَملَكَةٍ. سَتَحْدُثُ زَلَازِلُ وَمَجَاعَاتٌ، وَلَكِنَّ هَذِهِ كُلَّهَا سَتَكُونُ أوَّلَ آلَامِ المَخَاضِ.
9 «انتَبِهُوا لِأنفُسِكُمْ، فَسَتُسَلَّمُونَ إلَى المَحَاكِمِ، وَسَتُضرَبُونَ فِي المَجَامِعِ، وَسَتَقِفُونَ أمَامَ الحُكَّامِ وَالمُلُوكِ مِنْ أجْلِي لِتَشْهَدُوا لَدَيهِمْ. 10 فَيَنْبَغِي أنْ تُعلَنَ البِشَارَةُ لِلعَالَمِ كُلِّهِ. 11 وَعِنْدَمَا يَقْبِضُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَيُسَلِّمُونَكُمْ إلَى المَحَاكِمِ، لَا تَقْلَقُوا بِشَأنِ مَا سَتَقُولُونَهُ، بَلْ قُولُوا مَا يُعْطَىْ لَكُمْ فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ، لِأنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ أنْتُمُ المُتَكَلِّمِينَ، بَلِ الرُّوحُ القُدُسُ.
12 «سَيُسَلِّمُ الأخُ أخَاهُ لِلقَتلِ، وَسَيُسَلِّمُ الأبُ وَلَدَهُ. وَسَيَنْقَلِبُ الأوْلَادُ عَلَى وَالِدِيهِمْ وَيَقْتُلُونَهُمْ. 13 وَسَيُبغِضُكُمُ الجَمِيعُ مِنْ أجْلِ اسْمِي، وَلَكِنِ الَّذِي يَبْقَى أمِينًا إلَى النِّهَايَةِ، فَهَذَا سَيَخْلُصُ.
14 «لَكِنْ عِنْدَمَا تَرَوْنَ ‹النَّجِسَ المُخَرِّبَ›[b] الَّذِي أشَارَ إليهِ دَانيَالُ النَّبِيُّ قَائِمًا حَيْثُ لَا يَنْبَغِي أنْ يَكُونَ – لِيَفْهَمِ القَارِئُ هَذَا الكَلَامَ – فَليَهْرُبْ حينَئِذٍ جَمِيعُ الَّذِينَ فِي إقْلِيمِ اليَهُودِيَّةِ إلَى الجِبَالِ. 15 وَمَنْ كَانَ عَلَى سَطْحِ مَنزِلِهِ فَلَا يَنْزِلْ لِيَأْخُذَ أيَّ شَيءٍ. 16 وَلَا يَعُدِ العَامِلُ فِي الحَقْلِ إلَى بيتِهِ لِيَأْخُذَ رِدَاءَهُ.
17 «وَمَا أعسَرَ أحوَالَ الحَوَامِلِ وَالمُرضِعَاتِ فِي تِلْكَ الأيَّامِ! 18 لَكِنْ صَلُّوا أنْ لَا يَحْدُثَ ذَلِكَ فِي الشِّتَاءِ، 19 لِأنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ فِي تِلْكَ الأيَّامِ ضِيقٌ عَظِيمٌ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِثْلَهُ مُنْذُ أنْ خَلَقَ اللهُ العَالَمَ إلَى الآنَ، وَلَنْ يَكُونَ مِثْلَهُ. 20 وَلَولَا أنَّ الرَّبَّ قَدْ قَصَّرَ تِلْكَ الأيَّامَ، لَمَا بَقِيَ أحَدٌ حَيًّا. وَلَكِنَّهُ قَصَّرَهَا مِنْ أجْلِ شَعْبِهِ الخَاصِّ الَّذِي اخْتَارَهُ.
21 «فَإنْ قَالَ لَكُمْ أحَدٌ: ‹هَا إنَّ المَسِيحَ هُنَا،› أوْ ‹هَا هُوَ هُنَاكَ!› فَلَا تُصَدِّقُوا كَلَامَهُ. 22 فَسَيَظْهَرُ أكْثَرُ مِنْ مَسِيحٍ مُزَيَّفٍ، وَأكثَرُ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ كَاذِبٍ. وَسَيَصْنَعُونَ مُعجِزَاتٍ وَعَجَائِبَ غَيْرَ عَادِيَّةٍ، لِيَخْدَعُوا حَتَّى الَّذِينَ اخْتَارَهُمُ اللهُ لَوِ استَطَاعُوا. 23 فَاحذَرُوا، لِأنِّي قَدْ أخبَرْتُكُمْ بِكُلِّ شَيءٍ قَبْلَ حُدُوثِهِ.
عِنْدَمَا سَيَظْهَرُ ابْنُ الإنْسَان

24 «وَلَكِنْ فِي تِلْكَ الأيَّامِ، وَبَعْدَ هَذِهِ الضِّيقَاتِ،
‹سَتُظلِمُ الشَّمْسُ،
وَالقَمَرُ لَنْ يُعطِيَ نُورَهُ.
25 سَتَسْقُطُ النُّجُومُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ،
وَتُزَعزَعُ الأجرَامُ السَّمَاوِيَّةُ.›[c]
26 «حينَئِذٍ سَيَرَوْنَ ابْنَ الإنْسَانِ قَادِمًا فِي السَّحَابِ بِقُوَّةٍ وَمَجدٍ عَظِيمَينِ. 27 وَسَيُرسِلُ ابْنُ الإنْسَانِ مَلَائِكَتَهُ لِتَجْمَعَ النَّاسَ الَّذِينَ اخْتَارَهُمْ مِنَ الجِهَاتِ الأرْبَعِ، مِنْ أقْصَى الأرْضِ إلَى أقْصَى السَّمَاءِ.»
28 «تَعَلَّمُوا مِنْ شَجَرَةِ التِّينِ. فَحَالَمَا تُصبِحُ أغْصَانُهَا طَرِيَّةً، وَتَظْهَرُ أورَاقُهَا، تَعْرِفُونَ أنَّ الصَّيفَ قَرِيبٌ. 29 هَكَذَا أيْضًا عِنْدَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذِهِ الأشْيَاءَ، سَتَعْرِفُونَ أنَّ الوَقْتَ[d] قَرِيبٌ عَلَى الأبوَابِ. 30 أقُولُ لَكُمُ الحَقَّ: لَنْ يَنْقَضِيَ هَذَا الجِيلُ قَبْلَ أنْ تَحْدُثَ كُلُّ هَذِهِ الأشْيَاءِ. 31 تَزُولُ السَّمَاءُ وَالأرْضُ، أمَّا كَلَامِي فَلَنْ يَزُولَ أبَدًا.»
32 «لَكِنْ لَا يَعْرِفُ أحَدٌ مَتَى يَكُونَ ذَلِكَ اليَوْمُ أوْ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةُ، وَلَا مَلَائِكَةُ السَّمَاءِ يَعْرِفُونَ، وَلَا الابْنُ، لَكِنَّ الآبَ وَحْدَهُ يَعْلَمُ.»
33 «احذَرُوا وَتَيَقَّظُوا، لِأنَّكُمْ لَا تَعْرِفُونَ مَتَى يَأتِي الوَقْتُ. 34 فَالأمْرُ يُشْبِهُ رَجُلًا تَرَكَ بَيْتَهُ وَسَافَرَ وَحَدَّدَ لِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ عَبيدِهِ مَسؤولِيَّتَهُ، وَأمَرَ حَارِسَ البَابِ بِأنْ يَتَيَقَّظَ. 35 فَتَيَقَّظُوا إذًا، لِأنَّكُمْ لَا تَعْرِفُونَ مَتَى يَأتِي سَيِّدُ البَيْتِ: أفِي المَسَاءِ، أمْ فِي مُنْتَصَفِ اللَّيلِ، أمْ عِنْدَ صِيَاحِ الدِّيكِ، أمْ فِي الصَّبَاحِ. 36 لِئَلَّا يَأتِيَ فَجْأةً فَيَجِدَكُمْ نَائِمِينَ! 37 وَمَا أقُولُهُ لَكُمْ، أقُولُهُ لِلجَمِيعِ: ‹تَيَقَّظُوا.›»

Jesus Predicts the Destruction of the Temple(A)
13 Then (B)as He went out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Teacher, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!”
2 And Jesus answered and said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? (C)Not one stone shall be left upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age(D)
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, (E)Peter, (F)James, (G)John, and (H)Andrew asked Him privately, 4 (I)“Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?”
5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: (J)“Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and (K)kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines [a]and troubles. (L)These are the beginnings of [b]sorrows.
9 “But (M)watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will [c]be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And (N)the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 (O)But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, [d]or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, (P)but the Holy Spirit. 12 Now (Q)brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 13 (R)And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But (S)he who [e]endures to the end shall be saved.
The Great Tribulation(T)
14 (U)“So when you see the (V)‘abomination of desolation,’ [f]spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then (W)let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house. 16 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 17 (X)But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 18 And pray that your flight may not be in winter. 19 (Y)For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. 20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.
21 (Z)“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it. 22 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and (AA)wonders to deceive, if possible, even the [g]elect. 23 But (AB)take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.
The Coming of the Son of Man(AC)
24 (AD)“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be (AE)shaken. 26 (AF)Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His [h]elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.
The Parable of the Fig Tree(AG)
28 (AH)“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that [i]it is near—at the doors! 30 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but (AI)My words will by no means pass away.
No One Knows the Day or Hour(AJ)
32 “But of that day and hour (AK)no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the (AL)Father. 33 (AM)Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 (AN)It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave (AO)authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 (AP)Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”
