Авторство и поздрави
1 Од Павле, кој е в затвор затоа што проповеда за Исус Христос,
и од братот по вера Тимотеј,
до нашиот соработник, до нашиот сакан Филемон,
2 до сестра Апија, до нашиот соборец Архипус и до црквата што се собира во твојот дом.
3 Ви посакувам Бог, нашиот Татко, и Господ Исус Христос да ви бидат благонаклонети и да ви дадат мир.
Љубовта и верата на Филемон
4 Филемоне, секогаш кога ќе те спомнам во моите молитви, Му благодарам на Бог за тебе. 5 Слушам за твојата вера во Господ Исус и љубов спрема сите верни. 6 Се молам да имаш успех во споделувањето на верата со другите, па и тие да сфатат какви се благослови Христос ни даде. 7 Љубовта што ја имаш многу ме израдува и ме охрабри. Ги зарадува и срцата на сите Божји луѓе.
Молба за Онисим
8 Христос ми дава смелост да ти заповедам што треба да сториш, 9 но јас, попрво би те замолил да го сториш тоа од љубов. Затоа јас, старецот[a] Павле, затвореник затоа што проповедам за Исус Христос, 10 те молам да му помогнеш на Онисим[b]. Тој ми е како син, бидејќи тука во затворот го доведов кај Христос. 11 Порано тој беше бескорисен за тебе, но сега е многу корисен и за тебе и за мене.
12 Сега го испраќам кај тебе. За срце ми прирасна 13 и би сакал да го задржам кај себе, та во твое име да ми помага сега, кога сум во окови, затоа што ја проповедам Радосната вест, 14 но не сакав ништо да сторам без твоја согласност. Сакав да го сториш тоа од љубов, а не затоа што јас сум те принудил.
15 Можеби токму заради тоа тој за кратко беше одвоен од тебе, за потоа засекогаш да ти се врати, 16 но не веќе како роб, туку како нешто многу повеќе, како драг брат. Мене ми е драг пријател, а тебе сигурно ќе ти биде уште подраг и како личност и како човек што верува во Господ.
17 Ако ме сметаш за пријател, прифати го како што би ме прифатил мене. 18 Ако ти направил некаква штета, или ако нешто ти должи, стави го тоа на моја сметка. 19 Јас, Павле, со своја рака ти пишувам: „Јас ќе ти се оддолжам.“ Нема сега да спомнувам дека и самиот ти си мој должник. 20 Брате мој, направи ми ја таа услуга заради Господ, зарадувај ме заради Христос.
21 Сигурен сум дека ќе сториш се што побарав од тебе, дури и повеќе. 22 Приготви за мене соба, зашто се надевам дека твоите молитви ќе бидат услишани и набргу ќе можам повторно да те посетам.
Завршни поздрави
23 Те поздравува Епафрас. И тој е со мене в затвор, затоа што проповеда за Исус Христос. 24 Те поздравуваат моите соработници Марко, Аристарх, Димас и Лука.
25 Господ Исус Христос нека ти биде благонаклонет и духовно нека биде со тебе.

1 Paul, a prisoner(A) of Christ Jesus, and Timothy(B) our brother,(C)
To Philemon our dear friend and fellow worker(D)— 2 also to Apphia our sister and Archippus(E) our fellow soldier(F)—and to the church that meets in your home:(G)
3 Grace and peace to you[a] from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.(H)
Thanksgiving and Prayer
4 I always thank my God(I) as I remember you in my prayers,(J) 5 because I hear about your love for all his holy people(K) and your faith in the Lord Jesus.(L) 6 I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement,(M) because you, brother, have refreshed(N) the hearts of the Lord’s people.
Paul’s Plea for Onesimus
8 Therefore, although in Christ I could be bold and order you to do what you ought to do, 9 yet I prefer to appeal to you(O) on the basis of love. It is as none other than Paul—an old man and now also a prisoner(P) of Christ Jesus— 10 that I appeal to you for my son(Q) Onesimus,[b](R) who became my son while I was in chains.(S) 11 Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
12 I am sending him—who is my very heart—back to you. 13 I would have liked to keep him with me so that he could take your place in helping me while I am in chains(T) for the gospel. 14 But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that any favor you do would not seem forced(U) but would be voluntary. 15 Perhaps the reason he was separated from you for a little while was that you might have him back forever— 16 no longer as a slave,(V) but better than a slave, as a dear brother.(W) He is very dear to me but even dearer to you, both as a fellow man and as a brother in the Lord.
17 So if you consider me a partner,(X) welcome him as you would welcome me. 18 If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me.(Y) 19 I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand.(Z) I will pay it back—not to mention that you owe me your very self. 20 I do wish, brother, that I may have some benefit from you in the Lord; refresh(AA) my heart in Christ. 21 Confident(AB) of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask.
22 And one thing more: Prepare a guest room for me, because I hope to be(AC) restored to you in answer to your prayers.(AD)
23 Epaphras,(AE) my fellow prisoner(AF) in Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. 24 And so do Mark,(AG) Aristarchus,(AH) Demas(AI) and Luke, my fellow workers.(AJ)
25 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.(AK)

1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,
2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:
3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;
6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,
9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:
12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:
13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:
14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;
16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;
19 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.
20 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.
21 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
23 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;
24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.
25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
