New International Version
14 In his anger(A) against Israel the Lord gave them into the hands(B) of raiders who plundered(C) them. He sold them(D) into the hands of their enemies all around, whom they were no longer able to resist.(E) 15 Whenever Israel went out to fight, the hand of the Lord was against them(F) to defeat them, just as he had sworn to them. They were in great distress.(G)
16 Then the Lord raised up judges,[a](H) who saved(I) them out of the hands of these raiders.

14 O SENHOR se irritou com os israelitas e permitiu que os seus inimigos os atacassem e tirassem tudo o que tinham. Também permitiu que os inimigos de Israel os fizessem escravos. 15 Os israelitas perdiam todas as batalhas, porque o SENHOR estava contra eles para lhes fazer mal. O SENHOR tinha lhes avisado que perderiam todas as batalhas se servissem os deuses dos povos que viviam ao redor deles. Como os israelitas foram desobedientes ao SENHOR, eles sofreram muito.
16 Então o SENHOR levantou alguns líderes, chamados juízes. Esses líderes libertaram os israelitas dos inimigos que os assaltavam.
