87 (По слав. 86). Псалом, песен за Кореевите потомци. Основания Си на светите хълмове <град>,

Да! портите на Сиона, Господ обича Повече от всичките Яковови заселища.

Славни неща се говорят за тебе, Граде Божий. (Села).

Ще спомена Египет и Вавилон. Като от ония, които ме познават. Ето филистимската земя и Тир, с Етиопия: Тоя <народ, ще кажа>, се е родил там;

Staden där folken föds på nytt

87 (A) En psalm, en sång av Koras söner.

Han har grundat sin stad
    på de heliga bergen.
(B) Herren älskar Sions portar
    mest av alla Jakobs boningar.
(C) Härliga ting har sagts om dig,
    Guds stad. Sela

(D) "Jag ska räkna Rahab[a] och Babel
        bland mina bekännare,
    Filisteen och Tyrus
        tillsammans med Kush[b].
            De är födda där."
(E) Om Sion ska det sägas:
"Den och den är född där."
    Och han, den Högste,
        håller det vid makt.
(F) När Herren upptecknar folken
        ska han räkna så:
    "De är födda där." Sela

(G) Under sång och dans ska man säga:
"Alla mina källor har jag i dig."

Psalm 87

Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. A song.

He has founded his city on the holy mountain.(A)
The Lord loves the gates of Zion(B)
more than all the other dwellings of Jacob.

Glorious things are said of you,
    city of God:[a](C)
“I will record Rahab[b](D) and Babylon
    among those who acknowledge me—
Philistia(E) too, and Tyre(F), along with Cush[c]
and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’”[d](G)
Indeed, of Zion it will be said,
“This one and that one were born in her,
and the Most High himself will establish her.”
The Lord will write in the register(H) of the peoples:
“This one was born in Zion.”

As they make music(I) they will sing,
“All my fountains(J) are in you.”

Footnotes

  2. Psalm 87:4 A poetic name for Egypt
  3. Psalm 87:4 That is, the upper Nile region
  4. Psalm 87:4 Or “I will record concerning those who acknowledge me: / ‘This one was born in Zion.’ / Hear this, Rahab and Babylon, / and you too, Philistia, Tyre and Cush.”

87 His foundation is in the holy mountains.

The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.

I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.

And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.

The Lord shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah.

As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.
