57 (По слав. 56). За първия певец, по не разорявай. Песен на Давида, когато побягна от Сауловото лице в пещерата {1 Цар. 21:1. 24:3. Псал. 142 надписа.}. Смили се за мене, о Боже, смили се за мене, Защото при Тебе прибягва душата ми; Да! под сянката на Твоите крила ще прибягна, Докато преминат <тия> бедствия.
2 Ще викам към Всевишния Бог, Към Бога, Който действува за мене.
3 Ще прати от небесата и ще ме избави, <Когато ме> укорява оня, който иска да ме погълне. (Села). Бог ще изпрати милостта Си и истината Си.
4 Душата ми е всред лъвове; Лежа между пламнали човеци, <Между> човешки чада, чиито зъби са копия и стрели, И чиито език е остър меч.
5 Възнеси се, Боже, над небесата; Славата Ти <нека бъде> по цялата земя.
6 Мрежи приготвиха за стъпките ми; Душата ми се е навела; Изкопаха пред мене яма; Те сами паднаха всред нея. (Села).
7 Непоколебимо е сърцето ми, Боже, непоколебимо е сърцето ми; Ще пея, а още ще славословя.
8 Събуди се, душе моя {Еврейски: Славо моя.}; Събуди се, псалтирю и арфо; сам аз ще се събудя на ранина.
9 Ще Те хваля, Господи, между племената; Ще Те славословя между народите.
10 Защото Твоята милост е велика <дори> до небесата. И Твоята вярност до облаците.
11 Възнеси се, Боже, над небесата; Славата Ти <нека бъде> по цялата земя.

2 [b] Боже, смили се над мене, помилвай ме,
защото към Тебе прибягва душата ми.
Ще се скрия в сянката на Твоите криле,
докато преминат бедите.
3 Ще призовавам Бога, Всевишния Бог,
Който прави всичко за мене.
4 Той ще изпрати помощ от небесата и ще ме спаси;
ще посрами онзи, който иска да ме погълне.
Бог ще изпрати Своята милост и Своята вярност.
5 (B)Душата ми живее сред лъвове;
лежа при пламнали от алчност хора.
Зъбите им са стрели и копия,
езикът им е остър меч.
6 (C)Боже, прояви величието Си над небесата, Твоята слава да се разпростре над цялата земя!
7 (D)Сложиха пред мене примка за краката ми.
Моята душа е пречупена.

Psalm 57
To the Chief Musician; [set to the tune of] “Do Not Destroy.” A record of memorable thoughts of David when he fled from Saul in the cave.
1 Be merciful and gracious to me, O God, be merciful and gracious to me, for my soul takes refuge and finds shelter and confidence in You; yes, in the shadow of Your wings will I take refuge and be confident until calamities and destructive storms are passed.
2 I will cry to God Most High, Who performs on my behalf and rewards me [Who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them]!
3 He will send from heaven and save me from the slanders and reproaches of him who would trample me down or swallow me up, and He will put him to shame. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! God will send forth His mercy and loving-kindness and His truth and faithfulness.
4 My life is among lions; I must lie among those who are aflame—the sons of men whose teeth are spears and arrows, their tongues sharp swords.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let Your glory be over all the earth!
6 They set a net for my steps; my very life was bowed down. They dug a pit in my way; into the midst of it they themselves have fallen. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is steadfast and confident! I will sing and make melody.
8 Awake, my glory (my inner self); awake, harp and lyre! I will awake right early [I will awaken the dawn]!
9 I will praise and give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations.
10 For Your mercy and loving-kindness are great, reaching to the heavens, and Your truth and faithfulness to the clouds.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth.

57 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.
3 He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.
4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.
6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.
7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

1 Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
for in you I take refuge.(C)
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings(D)
until the disaster has passed.(E)
2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God, who vindicates me.(F)
3 He sends from heaven and saves me,(G)
rebuking those who hotly pursue me—[c](H)
God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.(I)
4 I am in the midst of lions;(J)
I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—
men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
whose tongues are sharp swords.(K)
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
let your glory be over all the earth.(L)
6 They spread a net for my feet(M)—
I was bowed down(N) in distress.
They dug a pit(O) in my path—
