Proverbs 29:4-6

New International Version

⁴By justice a king gives a country stability,^(A)
but those who are greedy for^[a] bribes tear it down.

⁵Those who flatter their neighbors
are spreading nets for their feet.^(B)

⁶Evildoers are snared by their own sin,^(C)
but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.

⁴The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

⁵A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

⁶In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
