Теперь они грешат всё больше и больше:
    они делают для себя идолов из своего серебра,
мастерски отлитые истуканы;
    всё это – изделия ремесленников.
Они говорят людям:
    «Приносите жертвы
    и целуйте идолов-тельцов».
Поэтому они будут как утренний туман,
    как роса, что вскоре исчезает,
словно мякина от зерна, сдуваемая ветром,
    как дым, выходящий через дымоход.

– Но Я – Вечный, ваш Бог,
    Который вывел вас из Египта.
Вы не должны признавать другого Бога, кроме Меня,
    и никакого спасителя, кроме Меня.

Now they sin more and more;
    they make(A) idols for themselves from their silver,(B)
cleverly fashioned images,
    all of them the work of craftsmen.(C)
It is said of these people,
    “They offer human sacrifices!
    They kiss[a](D) calf-idols!(E)
Therefore they will be like the morning mist,
    like the early dew that disappears,(F)
    like chaff(G) swirling from a threshing floor,(H)
    like smoke(I) escaping through a window.

“But I have been the Lord your God
    ever since you came out of Egypt.(J)
You shall acknowledge(K) no God but me,(L)
    no Savior(M) except me.
