7 «Я излечу Израиль!
Тогда люди узнают, что Ефрем грешил,
они узнают о лжи Самарии.
Люди узнают о ворах,
грабящих на улицах этого города.
2 Эти люди не верят,
что Я запомню их преступления.
Зло, причинённое ими, повсюду окружает их,
Я ясно вижу их грехи.
3 Их злые поступки
доставляют удовольствие их царю;
своими лжебогами
они ублажают правителей своих.
4 Люди так неверны[a],
они подобны печи, растопленной пекарем.
Он не поддерживает огонь в то время,
когда замешивает тесто и даёт ему подойти[b].
5 В царские праздники
вожди напиваются до умопомрачения вином,
а затем заключают соглашения с теми людьми,
которые смеются над Богом.
6 Люди вынашивают свои коварные планы,
сердца их пылают возбуждённо, словно печи.
Их гнев теплится всю ночь,
и утром он пылает как жаркий огонь.
7 Они раскалены как жаркие печи.
Они низвергли своих правителей,
все их цари пали с тронов,
и ни один из них не воззвал о помощи ко Мне».
Израиль не знает, что ему грозит разрушение
8 «Ефрем смешался с народами,
он словно недопечённый хлеб.
9 Чужестранцы уничтожают его могущество,
а он не замечает.
Седина покрыла его, а он этого не знает.
10 Гордость Ефрема свидетельствует против него.
Люди испытали множество несчастий,
но даже тогда они не вернулись к Господу,
Богу своему,
люди не обратились за помощью к Нему.
11 И стал Ефрем словно глупый голубь,
ничего не смыслящий.
Его народ обратился за помощью к Египту,
он в Ассирию за помощью пошёл.
12 Народ Ефрема в эти страны за помощью пошёл,
но Я его в ловушку заманю,
Я сеть Свою на него наброшу
как на птиц небесных.
Я накажу народ за соглашения[c] его.
13 Горе людям будет за то, что они покинули Меня.
Они отказались повиноваться Мне,
и за это будут низвергнуты и уничтожены они.
Я спас их, а в ответ они говорят обо Мне ложь.
14 Они никогда не взывали ко Мне сердцем своим.
Да, они стенают на ложах своих и бичуют себя,
когда молят о вине и хлебе,
но в сердцах своих они отвернулись от Меня.
15 Я вразумлял их и давал им силы,
но они замышляли зло против Меня.
16 Они словно бумеранг,
изменяющий направление полёта,
изменяют решения свои,
но так ко Мне и не вернулись[d].
Их предводители хвастались силой своей,
но будут они убиты мечами,
и тогда народ Египта посмеётся над ними».

7 “Desejo curar Israel, mas seus pecados[a] são grandes demais;
Samaria está cheia de mentirosos.
Há ladrões do lado de dentro
e bandidos do lado de fora.
2 Seu povo não percebe
que eu o observo.
Está cercado por seus atos pecaminosos,
e eu vejo todos eles.
3 “Com suas maldades, divertem o rei,
e os príncipes riem de suas mentiras.
4 São todos adúlteros,
sempre ardendo de paixão.
São como o forno mantido quente,
enquanto o padeiro bate a massa.
5 No dia da festa do rei, os príncipes se embebedam com vinho
e dão as mãos aos zombadores.
6 Seu coração é como um forno
que arde com intriga.
Sua trama queima[b] a noite toda
e, pela manhã, irrompe em chamas abrasadoras.
7 Como um forno ardente,
consomem seus líderes.
Matam seus reis, um após o outro,
e ninguém clama a mim por socorro.
8 “O povo de Israel se mistura com outros povos
e se torna imprestável como um bolo mal assado.
9 Estrangeiros consomem suas forças,
mas eles não sabem disso.
Seus cabelos ficam brancos,
mas eles não se dão conta.
10 Sua arrogância testemunha contra eles,
e, no entanto, não se voltam para o Senhor, seu Deus,
nem buscam encontrá-lo.
11 “O povo de Israel se tornou como pombas tolas e sem juízo,
que primeiro chamam o Egito
e depois voam até a Assíria para pedir socorro.
12 Enquanto voam de um lado para o outro,
lançarei sobre eles minha rede
e os derrubarei como uma ave do céu;
eu os castigarei por todo o mal que fizeram.[c]
13 “Que aflição espera os que me abandonaram!
Que morram, pois se rebelaram contra mim.
Eu desejava resgatá-los,
mas contaram mentiras a meu respeito.
14 Não clamam a mim de coração sincero;
em vez disso, gemem angustiados em suas camas.
Cortam-se[d] ritualmente e suplicam por trigo e vinho novo,
mas de mim se afastam.
15 Eu os instruí e os fortaleci,
mas agora tramam o mal contra mim.
16 Olham para toda parte, menos para o Altíssimo;

7 1 whenever I would heal Israel,
the sins of Ephraim are exposed
and the crimes of Samaria revealed.(A)
They practice deceit,(B)
thieves break into houses,(C)
bandits rob in the streets;(D)
2 but they do not realize
that I remember(E) all their evil deeds.(F)
Their sins engulf them;(G)
they are always before me.
3 “They delight the king with their wickedness,
the princes with their lies.(H)
4 They are all adulterers,(I)
burning like an oven
whose fire the baker need not stir
from the kneading of the dough till it rises.
5 On the day of the festival of our king
the princes become inflamed with wine,(J)
and he joins hands with the mockers.(K)
6 Their hearts are like an oven;(L)
they approach him with intrigue.
Their passion smolders all night;
in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.
7 All of them are hot as an oven;
they devour their rulers.
All their kings fall,(M)
and none of them calls(N) on me.
8 “Ephraim mixes(O) with the nations;
Ephraim is a flat loaf not turned over.
9 Foreigners sap his strength,(P)
but he does not realize it.
His hair is sprinkled with gray,
but he does not notice.
10 Israel’s arrogance testifies against him,(Q)
but despite all this
he does not return(R) to the Lord his God
or search(S) for him.
11 “Ephraim is like a dove,(T)
easily deceived and senseless—
now calling to Egypt,(U)
now turning to Assyria.(V)
12 When they go, I will throw my net(W) over them;
I will pull them down like the birds in the sky.
When I hear them flocking together,
I will catch them.
13 Woe(X) to them,
because they have strayed(Y) from me!
Destruction to them,
because they have rebelled against me!
I long to redeem them
but they speak about me(Z) falsely.(AA)
14 They do not cry out to me from their hearts(AB)
but wail on their beds.
They slash themselves,[a] appealing to their gods
for grain and new wine,(AC)
but they turn away from me.(AD)
15 I trained(AE) them and strengthened their arms,
but they plot evil(AF) against me.
16 They do not turn to the Most High;(AG)
they are like a faulty bow.(AH)
Their leaders will fall by the sword
because of their insolent(AI) words.
For this they will be ridiculed(AJ)
in the land of Egypt.(AK)
