Рождение Исхака
21 Вечный, как Он и сказал, был милостив к Сарре и выполнил Своё обещание: 2 Сарра забеременела и родила Ибрахиму сына, когда тот уже состарился, в то самое время, как обещал ему Аллах. 3 Ибрахим дал своему новорождённому сыну, которого родила ему Сарра, имя Исхак. 4 Когда его сыну Исхаку исполнилось восемь дней, Ибрахим обрезал его, как велел ему Аллах. 5 Ибрахиму было сто лет, когда у него родился сын Исхак.
6 Сарра сказала:
– Аллах заставил меня смеяться; каждый, кто услышит об этом, рассмеётся вместе со мной,[a] – 7 и добавила: – Кто бы сказал Ибрахиму, что Сарра будет кормить грудью? Но я родила ему сына в его старости.
8 Ребёнок вырос и был отнят от груди. В тот день, когда Исхак был отнят от груди, Ибрахим устроил большой пир.
Изгнание Ажар и Исмаила, сына Ибрахима
9 Сарра увидела, что сын, которого египтянка Ажар родила Ибрахиму, насмехается над Исхаком, 10 и сказала Ибрахиму:
– Прогони эту рабыню и её сына, потому что сын этой рабыни не разделит наследства с моим сыном Исхаком.
11 Ибрахим был сильно огорчён, потому что это был его сын. 12 Но Аллах сказал ему:
– Не огорчайся из-за мальчика и рабыни. Послушайся Сарры и сделай всё, как она говорит, потому что через Исхака ты будешь иметь обещанное потомство[b]. 13 Но Я произведу народ и от сына рабыни, потому что и он – твой потомок.
14 На другой день рано утром Ибрахим взял еды и бурдюк с водой и дал Ажар: положил их ей на плечи и отослал её прочь вместе с ребёнком. Она отправилась в путь и блуждала в пустыне Беэр-Шева. 15 Когда вода в бурдюке кончилась, она оставила мальчика под кустом 16 и, отойдя, села неподалёку, на расстоянии выстрела из лука, потому что думала: «Не стану смотреть, как мальчик умирает». И сидя там поблизости, она разрыдалась.
17 Аллах услышал плач мальчика, и Ангел Аллаха обратился к Ажар с небес и сказал ей:
– Что с тобой, Ажар? Не бойся: Аллах услышал, как плачет мальчик там, где он лежит. 18 Вставай, подними мальчика и возьми его за руку, потому что Я произведу от него великий народ.
19 Тут Аллах открыл ей глаза, и она увидела колодец с водой. Она пошла, наполнила бурдюк водой и напоила мальчика.
20 Аллах был с мальчиком. Исмаил вырос, поселился в пустыне и стал стрелком из лука. 21 Он жил в пустыне Паран, и мать взяла для него жену из Египта.
Договор между Ибрахимом и Ави-Маликом
22 В то время Ави-Малик, пришедший в сопровождении Фихола, начальника его войска, сказал Ибрахиму:
– Аллах с тобой во всём, что ты делаешь. 23 Поклянись же мне здесь перед Аллахом, что ты не поступишь вероломно ни со мной, ни с моими детьми, ни с моим потомством. Окажи мне и стране, в которой ты живёшь как пришелец, ту же милость, какую я оказал тебе.
24 Ибрахим сказал:
– Клянусь.
25 Потом Ибрахим упрекнул Ави-Малика за колодец с водой, который захватили слуги Ави-Малика. 26 Но Ави-Малик сказал:
– Я не знаю, кто это сделал. Ты не говорил мне, и до сего дня я не слышал об этом.
27 Ибрахим привёл мелкий и крупный скот и дал Ави-Малику, и они заключили союз. 28 Ибрахим отделил из стада семь молодых овец, 29 и Ави-Малик спросил Ибрахима:
– Что означают эти семь молодых овец, которых ты отделил особо?
30 Он ответил:
– Прими от меня семь этих молодых овец как свидетельство того, что я выкопал этот колодец, и он мой.
31 Вот почему то место было названо Беэр-Шева («колодец семи, колодец клятвы»): ведь они оба дали там клятву.
32 Заключив договор в Беэр-Шеве, Ави-Малик и Фихол, начальник его войска, вернулись на землю филистимлян. 33 Ибрахим посадил в Беэр-Шеве тамариск и призвал там имя Вечного, Кто есть Бог навеки. 34 Ибрахим жил на земле филистимлян долгое время.

21 Господь исполнил обещанное Сарре и сделал, что обещал ей: 2 она забеременела и родила Аврааму сына в старости его; и всё произошло так, как обещал Бог. 3 Сарра родила сына, Авраам назвал его Исааком[a], 4 и, когда ему исполнилось 8 дней, Авраам сделал ему обрезание, как велел Бог. 5 Аврааму было 100 лет, когда у него родился сын Исаак. 6 Сарра сказала: «Бог осчастливил меня, и каждый, кто услышит об этом, будет радоваться вместе со мной. 7 Никто не думал, что я, Сарра, смогу иметь ребёнка от Авраама, но, несмотря на его преклонный возраст, я родила ему сына».
Не всё спокойно в доме Авраама
8 Исаак рос. Когда настало время отнять его от груди, Авраам устроил большой пир. 9 Сарра увидела Измаила, сына Агари, рабыни-египтянки, родившей Аврааму первенца, игравшего с её сыном Исааком[b]. 10 «Избавься от этой рабыни и её сына, отошли их прочь!—попросила она Авраама.—Тогда после нашей смерти наш сын Исаак получит всё, чем мы владеем. Я не хочу, чтобы сын этой рабыни разделил наследство с моим сыном Исааком!»
11 Авраам очень расстроился, беспокоясь о своём сыне Измаиле, 12 но Бог сказал ему: «Не беспокойся о мальчике и о рабыне! Сделай, как хочет Сарра. Исаак будет твоим единственным наследником, 13 но Я благословлю также и сына рабыни. Он твой сын, поэтому Я и от него произведу великий народ».
14 На следующее утро Авраам дал Агари хлеба и немного воды, и та отправилась вместе со своим сыном через пустыню Вирсавию. 15 Вскоре, когда вода кончилась, Агарь посадила сына под куст 16 и, отойдя немного дальше, присела на землю. Она думала, что её сын умрёт без воды, и не хотела видеть, как он умирает, поэтому она сидела и плакала.
17 Бог услышал плач мальчика, и Ангел Божий с небес воззвал к Агари: «Что случилось, Агарь? Не бойся! Господь услышал плач Измаила. 18 Пойди, помоги ему, возьми за руку и веди за собой. Я сделаю его отцом многочисленного народа».
19 Тогда же Бог показал Агари колодец с водой. Она подошла к колодцу, наполнила мех водой и дала мальчику напиться.
20 Пока Измаил рос, Бог неизменно пребывал с ним. Измаил жил в пустыне и научился очень хорошо стрелять из лука, и стал охотником. 21 Агарь нашла ему в Египте жену, и они продолжали жить в пустыне Фаран.
Союз между Авраамом и Авимелехом
22 Авимелех и командующий его армией Фихол, сказали Аврааму: «Бог помогает тебе во всём, что ты делаешь. 23 Так поклянись мне перед Богом, обещай, что будешь справедлив ко мне и к моим детям. Обещай, что будешь милостив ко мне и к этой стране, в которой живёшь; и как я был милостив к тебе, так и ты будешь милостив ко мне».
24 Авраам ответил: «Обещаю обращаться с тобой так же, как ты обращался со мной». 25 Авраам пожаловался Авимелеху, что его слуги отняли колодец с водой.
26 Авимелех сказал: «Я не знаю, кто это сделал. До сегодняшнего дня ты мне об этом ничего не говорил!»
27 Тогда Авраам с Авимелехом заключили соглашение; Авраам дал Авимелеху овец и скот в доказательство соглашения 28 и отдельно поставил перед Авимелехом ещё семь[c] овечек.
29 «Зачем ты поставил передо мной отдельно семь овечек?»—спросил Авимелех.
30 «Если ты примешь от меня этих овечек, это будет свидетельством того, что я вырыл этот колодец»,—ответил Авраам.
31 Поэтому тот колодец стали называть Вирсавия[d], он был назван так потому, что там они поклялись друг другу.
32 Авраам и Авимелех заключили союз около Вирсавии, и после этого Авимелех и его военачальник Фихол возвратились в Филистимскую землю.
33 Авраам посадил у Вирсавии дерево, у которого молился Господу, Вечному Богу. 34 Авраам оставался в Филистимской стране ещё долгое время.

King James Version
21 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
20 And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
22 And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:
23 Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
24 And Abraham said, I will swear.
25 And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
26 And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing; neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
27 And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.
28 And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
29 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?
30 And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.
31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.
32 Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
33 And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the Lord, the everlasting God.
34 And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.

Isaac Is Born(A)
21 And the Lord (B)visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah (C)as He had spoken. 2 For Sarah (D)conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, (E)at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 3 And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him—whom Sarah bore to him—(F)Isaac.[a] 4 Then Abraham (G)circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, (H)as God had commanded him. 5 Now (I)Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. 6 And Sarah said, (J)“God has [b]made me laugh, and all who hear (K)will laugh with me.” 7 She also said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? (L)For I have borne him a son in his old age.”
Hagar and Ishmael Depart(M)
8 So the child grew and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the same day that Isaac was weaned.
9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar (N)the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, (O)scoffing.[c] 10 Therefore she said to Abraham, (P)“Cast out this bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, namely with Isaac.” 11 And the matter was very [d]displeasing in Abraham’s sight (Q)because of his son.
12 But God said to Abraham, “Do not let it be displeasing in your sight because of the lad or because of your bondwoman. Whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for (R)in Isaac your seed shall be called. 13 Yet I will also make (S)a nation of the son of the bondwoman, because he is your [e]seed.”
14 So Abraham rose early in the morning, and took bread and [f]a skin of water; and putting it on her shoulder, he gave it and the boy to Hagar, and (T)sent her away. Then she departed and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba. 15 And the water in the skin was used up, and she placed the boy under one of the shrubs. 16 Then she went and sat down across from him at a distance of about a bowshot; for she said to herself, “Let me not see the death of the boy.” So she sat opposite him, and lifted her voice and wept.
17 And (U)God heard the voice of the lad. Then the (V)angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. 18 Arise, lift up the lad and hold him with your hand, for (W)I will make him a great nation.”
19 Then (X)God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink. 20 So God (Y)was with the lad; and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness, (Z)and became an archer. 21 He dwelt in the Wilderness of Paran; and his mother (AA)took a wife for him from the land of Egypt.
A Covenant with Abimelech
22 And it came to pass at that time that (AB)Abimelech and Phichol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham, saying, (AC)“God is with you in all that you do. 23 Now therefore, (AD)swear[g] to me by God that you will not deal falsely with me, with my offspring, or with my posterity; but that according to the kindness that I have done to you, you will do to me and to the land in which you have dwelt.”
24 And Abraham said, “I will swear.”
25 Then Abraham rebuked Abimelech because of a well of water which Abimelech’s servants (AE)had seized. 26 And Abimelech said, “I do not know who has done this thing; you did not tell me, nor had I heard of it until today.” 27 So Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech, and the two of them (AF)made a [h]covenant. 28 And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
29 Then Abimelech asked Abraham, (AG)“What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves?”
30 And he said, “You will take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, that (AH)they may be my witness that I have dug this well.” 31 Therefore he (AI)called that place [i]Beersheba, because the two of them swore an oath there.
32 Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba. So Abimelech rose with Phichol, the commander of his army, and they returned to the land of the Philistines. 33 Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and (AJ)there called on the name of the Lord, (AK)the Everlasting God. 34 And Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines many days.
