2 Так было завершено сотворение неба и земли и всего, что наполняет их.
2 К седьмому дню Аллах закончил труд, который Он совершал, и на седьмой день Он отдыхал от всех Своих дел. 3 Аллах благословил седьмой день и освятил его, потому что в этот день Он отдыхал от Своего труда, который Он делал и завершил.

4 Вот повествование о сотворении неба и земли. Когда Вечный[a] Бог сотворил землю и небо, 5 на земле тогда ещё не было ни кустарника полевого, ни полевой травы, потому что Вечный Бог не посылал на землю дождя, и не было человека, чтобы обрабатывать почву, 6 только пар поднимался от земли и орошал всю её поверхность. 7 Тогда Вечный Бог сотворил человека из земного праха[b] и вдохнул ему в ноздри дыхание жизни[c], и человек стал живым существом.
8 Затем Вечный Бог посадил сад на востоке, в Эдеме, и поселил там человека, которого Он сотворил. 9 Вечный Бог вырастил из земли все виды деревьев – приятных на вид и пригодных для пищи. Посреди же сада росли дерево жизни и дерево познания добра и зла[d].
10 Из Эдема вытекала река, орошавшая сад, а далее она разделялась на четыре потока. 11 Первый называется Фисон: он течёт вокруг всей земли Хавила, где есть золото. 12 (Золото в той земле хорошее, и ещё там есть ароматная смола и камень оникс.) 13 Вторая река называется Гихон: она течёт вокруг всей земли Куш. 14 Третья река называется Тигр: она течёт к востоку от Ашшура. А четвёртая река – это Евфрат.
15 Вечный Бог поселил человека в саду Эдем, чтобы он возделывал сад и заботился о нём. 16 Вечный Бог повелел человеку: «Можешь есть плоды с любого дерева в саду, 17 но не ешь с дерева познания добра и зла, потому что в день, когда ты съешь плод с этого дерева, ты непременно умрёшь[e]».
18 Вечный Бог сказал: «Нехорошо человеку быть одному. Я создам ему помощника под стать». 19 Вечный Бог сотворил из земли всех зверей полевых и всех птиц небесных. Затем Он привёл их к человеку, чтобы увидеть, как тот их назовёт; и как назвал человек каждое живое творение, так оно и стало называться. 20 Так человек дал имена всему скоту, всем птицам небесным и всем полевым зверям. Но для Адама[f] не нашлось подходящего помощника.
21 Тогда Вечный Бог погрузил человека в глубокий сон, и пока тот спал, взял одно из его рёбер и закрыл это место плотью. 22 Из ребра, которое Он вынул из человека, Вечный Бог сотворил женщину и привёл её к нему.
23 Человек сказал:
– Вот теперь это кость от костей моих и плоть от плоти моей: она будет называться «женщина»[g], потому что была взята от мужчины.
24 Поэтому оставит человек отца и мать и соединится со своей женой, и они станут одной плотью.
25 И Адам, и его жена были наги, но не испытывали стыда.

2 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.(A)
2 By the seventh day(B) God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.(C) 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy,(D) because on it he rested(E) from all the work of creating(F) that he had done.

4 This is the account(G) of the heavens and the earth when they were created,(H) when the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
5 Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth[a] and no plant had yet sprung up,(I) for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth(J) and there was no one to work the ground, 6 but streams[b] came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. 7 Then the Lord God formed(K) a man[c](L) from the dust(M) of the ground(N) and breathed into his nostrils the breath(O) of life,(P) and the man became a living being.(Q)
8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden;(R) and there he put the man he had formed. 9 The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees(S) that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life(T) and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.(U)
10 A river(V) watering the garden flowed from Eden;(W) from there it was separated into four headwaters. 11 The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah,(X) where there is gold. 12 (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin[d](Y) and onyx are also there.) 13 The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush.[e] 14 The name of the third river is the Tigris;(Z) it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.(AA)
15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden(AB) to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;(AC) 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,(AD) for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”(AE)
18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”(AF)
19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals(AG) and all the birds in the sky.(AH) He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called(AI) each living creature,(AJ) that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.
But for Adam[f] no suitable helper(AK) was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep;(AL) and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[g] and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib[h](AM) he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23 The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;(AN)
she shall be called(AO) ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.(AP)”
24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united(AQ) to his wife, and they become one flesh.(AR)
25 Adam and his wife were both naked,(AS) and they felt no shame.

4 Esta es la historia[b] de la creación de los cielos y la tierra. Dios el Señor[c] hizo la tierra y los cielos.
5 No había ningún arbusto del campo sobre la tierra ni había brotado la hierba, porque Dios el Señor todavía no había hecho llover sobre la tierra ni existía el hombre para que la cultivara. 6 No obstante, de la tierra salía un manantial que regaba toda la superficie del suelo. 7 Y Dios el Señor formó al ser humano[d] del polvo del suelo; entonces sopló en su nariz aliento de vida y el hombre se convirtió en un ser viviente.
8 Dios el Señor plantó un jardín al oriente del Edén y allí puso al hombre que había formado. 9 Dios el Señor hizo que creciera toda clase de árboles atractivos a la vista y buenos para comer. En medio del jardín hizo crecer el árbol de la vida y también el árbol del conocimiento del bien y del mal.
10 Del Edén nacía un río que regaba el jardín y desde allí se dividía en cuatro ríos menores. 11 El primero se llamaba Pisón y recorría toda la región de Javilá, donde había oro. 12 El oro de esa región era fino; también había allí resina muy buena y piedra de ónice. 13 El segundo se llamaba Guijón, que recorría toda la región de Cus.[e] 14 El tercero se llamaba Tigris, que corría al este de Asiria. El cuarto era el Éufrates.
15 Dios el Señor tomó al hombre y lo puso en el jardín del Edén para que lo cultivara y lo cuidara. 16 Dios el Señor le ordenó al hombre: «Puedes comer de todos los árboles del jardín, 17 pero del árbol del conocimiento del bien y del mal no deberás comer. El día que de él comas, sin duda morirás».
18 Luego Dios el Señor dijo: «No es bueno que el hombre esté solo. Voy a hacerle una ayuda adecuada».
19 Entonces Dios el Señor formó de la tierra toda ave del cielo y todo animal del campo. Se los llevó al hombre para ver qué nombre les pondría. El hombre puso nombre a todos los seres vivos y con ese nombre se les conoce. 20 Así el hombre fue poniéndoles nombre a todos los animales domésticos, a todas las aves del cielo y a todos los animales del campo.
Sin embargo, no se encontró entre ellos la ayuda adecuada para el hombre. 21 Entonces Dios el Señor hizo que el hombre cayera en un sueño profundo y, mientras este dormía, le sacó una costilla y cerró la herida. 22 De la costilla que le había quitado al hombre, Dios el Señor hizo una mujer y se la presentó al hombre, 23 el cual exclamó:
«Esta sí es hueso de mis huesos
y carne de mi carne.
Se llamará “mujer”[f]
porque del hombre fue sacada».
24 Por eso dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, se unirá a su mujer, y los dos llegarán a ser uno solo.[g]
25 En ese tiempo el hombre y la mujer estaban desnudos, pero no se avergonzaban.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
