Разделение Ибрама и Лута
13 Ибрам с женой и всем имуществом отправился из Египта в Негев, и Лут пошёл с ним. 2 У Ибрама теперь было много скота, серебра и золота. 3 Из Негева он продолжил путь, пока не пришёл в Вефиль, к тому месту, где некогда стоял его шатёр, между Вефилем и Гаем, 4 к тому месту, где он прежде построил жертвенник. Там Ибрам призвал имя Вечного.
5 У Лута, который кочевал с Ибрамом, тоже были стада мелкого и крупного скота и шатры, 6 и земля не могла прокормить их обоих: у них было так много всего, что они не могли селиться вместе. 7 Между пастухами Ибрама и пастухами Лута случился раздор. (В той земле тогда жили хананеи и перизеи.)
8 Тогда Ибрам сказал Луту:
– Пусть не будет раздора ни между тобой и мной, ни между твоими пастухами и моими, потому что мы родственники. 9 Не вся ли земля перед тобою? Давай разделимся: если ты пойдёшь налево, то я поверну направо, а если ты пойдёшь направо, то я поверну налево.
10 Лут посмотрел и увидел, что вся иорданская долина до самого Цоара хорошо орошается, как сад Вечного[a], как земля египетская. (Это было ещё до того, как Вечный разрушил Содом и Гоморру.) 11 Лут выбрал себе всю долину Иордана и отправился на восток. Они разделились: 12 Ибрам жил в земле ханаанской, а Лут жил среди городов долины, поставив шатры невдалеке от Содома. 13 Жители Содома были нечестивы и тяжко грешили против Вечного.
14 Вечный сказал Ибраму после того, как Лут отделился от него:
– Оглядись вокруг с того места, где ты сейчас; посмотри на север и на юг, на восток и на запад. 15 Всю землю, которую ты видишь, Я дам тебе и твоему потомству[b] навеки. 16 Я сделаю твоё потомство многочисленным, как земную пыль, так что если кто сможет пересчитать пылинки, то и твоё потомство будет пересчитано. 17 Иди, пройди по этой земле вдоль и поперёк, потому что Я дам её тебе.
18 Ибрам свернул шатры и направился жить невдалеке от великих деревьев Мамре в Хевроне. Он построил там жертвенник Вечному.

Abram Inherits Canaan
13 Then Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and (A)Lot with him, (B)to the [a]South. 2 (C)Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. 3 And he went on his journey (D)from the South as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, 4 to the (E)place of the altar which he had made there at first. And there Abram (F)called on the name of the Lord.
5 Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks and herds and tents. 6 Now (G)the land was not able to [b]support them, that they might dwell together, for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together. 7 And there was (H)strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. (I)The Canaanites and the Perizzites then dwelt in the land.
8 So Abram said to Lot, (J)“Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. 9 (K)Is not the whole land before you? Please (L)separate from me. (M)If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.”
10 And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all (N)the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord (O)destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) (P)like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward (Q)Zoar. 11 Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. 12 Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot (R)dwelt in the cities of the plain and (S)pitched his tent even as far as Sodom. 13 But the men of Sodom (T)were exceedingly wicked and (U)sinful against the Lord.
14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot (V)had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—(W)northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all the land which you see (X)I give to you and (Y)your [c]descendants forever. 16 And (Z)I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. 17 Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”
18 (AA)Then Abram moved his tent, and went and (AB)dwelt by [d]the terebinth trees of Mamre, (AC)which are in Hebron, and built an (AD)altar there to the Lord.

Abram y Lot se separan
13 Cuando Abram salió de Egipto, con su esposa y con todo lo que tenía, regresó a la región del Négueb. Su sobrino Lot se fue con ellos. 2 Abram era muy rico, pues tenía oro, plata y muchos animales. 3 Del Négueb regresó poco a poco, hasta llegar al pueblo de Betel, y de ahí se fue al lugar donde había acampado primero, entre Betel y Ai. 4 Ése era el lugar donde antes había construido un altar, y allí invocó el nombre del Señor.
5 Lot también era muy rico, pues, al igual que su tío Abram, tenía muchas ovejas y vacas, y gente que acampaba con él; 6 pero el lugar donde estaban no bastaba para alimentar a tantos animales. Ya no podían vivir juntos, 7 pues los que cuidaban el ganado de Abram se peleaban con los que cuidaban el ganado de Lot. Además, en aquel tiempo, los cananeos y ferezeos todavía vivían allí. 8 Así que un día Abram le dijo a Lot: «Tú y yo somos parientes, así que no está bien que haya pleitos entre nosotros, ni entre tus pastores y los míos. 9 Ahí está toda la tierra, para que escojas. Por favor, sepárate de mí. Si tú te vas al norte, yo me voy al sur, y si tú te vas al sur, yo me voy al norte.»
10 Lot miró por todo el valle del río Jordán y vio que, hasta el pueblecito de Sóar, el valle tenía bastante agua y era como un gran jardín. Se parecía a Egipto. (Esto era así antes de que el Señor destruyera las ciudades de Sodoma y Gomorra.) 11 Entonces Lot escogió todo el valle del Jordán, y se fue al oriente del lugar donde estaban. De esta manera, Abram y Lot se separaron. 12 Abram se quedó en Canaán, y Lot se fue a vivir a las ciudades del valle, cerca de la ciudad de Sodoma, 13 donde toda la gente era muy mala y cometía horribles pecados contra el Señor.
14 Después que Lot se fue, el Señor le dijo a Abram: «Desde el lugar donde estás, mira bien al norte y al sur, al este y al oeste; 15 yo te daré toda la tierra que ves, y para siempre será tuya y de tus descendientes. 16 Yo haré que ellos sean tantos como el polvo de la tierra. Así como no es posible contar los granitos de polvo, tampoco será posible contar tus descendientes. 17 ¡Levántate, recorre esta tierra a lo largo y a lo ancho, porque yo te la voy a dar!»
18 Así pues, Abram levantó su campamento y se fue a vivir al bosque de encinas de un hombre llamado Mamré, cerca de la ciudad de Hebrón. Allí construyó un altar en honor del Señor.
