29 Тот, кто коснеет в упрямстве после многих упрёков,
будет внезапно погублен – без исцеления.
2 Когда умножаются праведники, люди радуются,
а когда правят нечестивые, люди стонут.
3 Человек, любящий мудрость, приносит отцу радость,
а приятель блудниц расточает богатство.
4 Правосудием царь укрепляет страну,
а жадный до взяток её разоряет.
5 Льстящий ближнему своему
раскидывает сеть у него под ногами.
6 Злодея ловит его же грех,
а праведник может петь и радоваться.
7 Праведный заботится о правах бедняков,
а нечестивый в них и не вникает.
8 Глумливые возмущают город,
а мудрецы отвращают гнев.
9 Где мудрый судится с глупцом,
там лишь злость и издёвки, и нет покоя.
10 Кровожадные люди ненавидят беспорочных
и праведников хотят лишить жизни[a].
11 Глупец даёт гневу свободный выход,
а мудрый владеет собой.
12 Если правитель внимает лжи,
все его сановники становятся злодеями.
13 У бедняка с притеснителем вот что общее:
Вечный дал зрение глазам обоих.
14 Если царь судит бедных по справедливости,
его престол утвердится навеки.
15 Розга и обличение дают мудрость,
а ребёнок, оставленный в небрежении, срамит свою мать.
16 Когда умножаются нечестивые, умножается грех,
но праведники увидят их гибель.
17 Наказывай сына, и он принесёт тебе покой;
он доставит душе твоей радость.
18 Где нет откровений свыше, народ распоясывается;
но благословенны те, кто соблюдает Закон.
19 Раба не исправить одними словами:
он понимает, но не внимает.
20 Видел ли ты человека, что говорит не подумав?
На глупца больше надежды, чем на него.
21 Если раб избалован с детства,
то в конце концов он принесёт тебе печаль[b].
22 Гневливый разжигает ссоры,
и несдержанный совершает много грехов.
23 Гордость человека его принизит,
а смиренный духом будет прославлен.
24 Сообщник воров – враг самому себе;
он слышит, как заклинают выйти свидетелей, но не осмеливается.[c]
25 Страх перед человеком – ловушка,
а надеющийся на Вечного находится в безопасности.
26 Многие ищут приёма у правителя,
но справедливость – от Вечного.
27 Нечестивые – мерзость для праведников,
а честные – мерзость для неправедных.

29 El hombre que reprendido endurece la cerviz,
De repente será quebrantado, y no habrá para él medicina.
2 Cuando los justos dominan, el pueblo se alegra;
Mas cuando domina el impío, el pueblo gime.
3 El hombre que ama la sabiduría alegra a su padre;
Mas el que frecuenta rameras perderá los bienes.
4 El rey con el juicio afirma la tierra;
Mas el que exige presentes la destruye.
5 El hombre que lisonjea a su prójimo,
Red tiende delante de sus pasos.
6 En la transgresión del hombre malo hay lazo;
Mas el justo cantará y se alegrará.
7 Conoce el justo la causa de los pobres;
Mas el impío no entiende sabiduría.
8 Los hombres escarnecedores ponen la ciudad en llamas;
Mas los sabios apartan la ira.
9 Si el hombre sabio contendiere con el necio,
Que se enoje o que se ría, no tendrá reposo.
10 Los hombres sanguinarios aborrecen al perfecto,
Mas los rectos buscan su contentamiento.
11 El necio da rienda suelta a toda su ira,
Mas el sabio al fin la sosiega.
12 Si un gobernante atiende la palabra mentirosa,
Todos sus servidores serán impíos.
13 El pobre y el usurero se encuentran;
Jehová alumbra los ojos de ambos.
14 Del rey que juzga con verdad a los pobres,
El trono será firme para siempre.
15 La vara y la corrección dan sabiduría;
Mas el muchacho consentido avergonzará a su madre.
16 Cuando los impíos son muchos, mucha es la transgresión;
Mas los justos verán la ruina de ellos.
17 Corrige a tu hijo, y te dará descanso,
Y dará alegría a tu alma.
18 Sin profecía el pueblo se desenfrena;
Mas el que guarda la ley es bienaventurado.
19 El siervo no se corrige con palabras;
Porque entiende, mas no hace caso.
20 ¿Has visto hombre ligero en sus palabras?
Más esperanza hay del necio que de él.
21 El siervo mimado desde la niñez por su amo,
A la postre será su heredero.
22 El hombre iracundo levanta contiendas,
Y el furioso muchas veces peca.
23 La soberbia del hombre le abate;
Pero al humilde de espíritu sustenta la honra.
24 El cómplice del ladrón aborrece su propia alma;
Pues oye la imprecación y no dice nada.
25 El temor del hombre pondrá lazo;
Mas el que confía en Jehová será exaltado.
26 Muchos buscan el favor del príncipe;
Mas de Jehová viene el juicio de cada uno.
27 Abominación es a los justos el hombre inicuo;
Y abominación es al impío el de caminos rectos.

29 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
26 Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the Lord.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

29 Whoever remains stiff-necked(A) after many rebukes
will suddenly be destroyed(B)—without remedy.(C)
3 A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,(G)
but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.(H)
4 By justice a king gives a country stability,(I)
but those who are greedy for[a] bribes tear it down.
5 Those who flatter their neighbors
are spreading nets for their feet.(J)
6 Evildoers are snared by their own sin,(K)
but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.
7 The righteous care about justice for the poor,(L)
but the wicked have no such concern.
8 Mockers stir up a city,
but the wise turn away anger.(M)
9 If a wise person goes to court with a fool,
the fool rages and scoffs, and there is no peace.
10 The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity
and seek to kill the upright.(N)
13 The poor and the oppressor have this in common:
The Lord gives sight to the eyes of both.(S)
14 If a king judges the poor with fairness,
his throne will be established forever.(T)
15 A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom,
but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother.(U)
16 When the wicked thrive, so does sin,
but the righteous will see their downfall.(V)
17 Discipline your children, and they will give you peace;
they will bring you the delights you desire.(W)
18 Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint;
but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.(X)
19 Servants cannot be corrected by mere words;
though they understand, they will not respond.
20 Do you see someone who speaks in haste?
There is more hope for a fool than for them.(Y)
21 A servant pampered from youth
will turn out to be insolent.
22 An angry person stirs up conflict,
and a hot-tempered person commits many sins.(Z)
24 The accomplices of thieves are their own enemies;
they are put under oath and dare not testify.(AC)
27 The righteous detest the dishonest;
the wicked detest the upright.(AI)
