29 Тот, кто коснеет в упрямстве после многих упреков,
будет внезапно погублен – без исцеления.
2 Когда умножаются праведники, люди радуются,
а когда нечестивые правят, люди стонут.
3 Человек, любящий мудрость, приносит отцу радость,
а приятель блудниц расточает богатство.
4 Правосудием царь укрепляет страну,
а жадный до взяток ее разоряет.
5 Льстящий ближнему своему
раскидывает сеть у него под ногами.
6 Злодея ловит его же грех,
а праведник может петь и радоваться.
7 Помнит[a] праведник о правах бедняков,
а нечестивый в них и не вникает.
8 Глумливые возмущают город,
а мудрецы отвращают гнев.
9 Где мудрый судится с глупцом,
там лишь злость и издевки, и нет покоя.
10 Кровожадные люди ненавидят беспорочных
и праведников хотят лишить жизни[b].
11 Глупец дает гневу свободный выход,
а мудрый владеет собой.
12 Если правитель внимает лжи,
все его сановники[c] становятся злодеями.
13 У бедняка с притеснителем вот что общее:
Господь дал зрение глазам обоих.
14 Если царь судит бедных по справедливости,
его престол утвердится вовеки.
15 Розга и обличение дают мудрость,
а ребенок, оставленный в небрежении, срамит свою мать.
16 Когда умножаются нечестивые, умножается грех,
но праведники увидят их гибель.
17 Наказывай сына, и он принесет тебе покой;
он доставит душе твоей радость.
18 Где нет откровения[d] свыше, народ распоясывается;
но блажен тот, кто хранит Закон.
19 Слугу не исправить одними словами:
он понимает, но не внимает.
20 Видел ли ты человека, чье слово поспешно?
На глупца больше надежды, чем на него.
21 Слуга, избалованный с детства,
придет к плохому концу[e].
22 Гневливый разжигает ссоры,
и несдержанный совершает много грехов.
23 Гордость человека его принизит,
а смиренный духом будет прославлен.
24 Сообщник воров – враг самому себе;
он слышит проклятия жертвы, но не осмеливается сознаться[f].
25 Страх перед человеком – ловушка,
а верящий Господу находится в безопасности.
26 Многие ищут приема у правителя,
но справедливость – от Господа.
27 Нечестивые – мерзость для праведников,
а честные – мерзость для неправедных.

29 El que es reacio a las reprensiones
será destruido de repente y sin remedio.
2 Cuando los justos prosperan, el pueblo se alegra;
cuando los impíos gobiernan, el pueblo gime.
3 El que ama la sabiduría alegra a su padre;
el que frecuenta rameras pierde su fortuna.
4 Con justicia el rey da estabilidad al país;
cuando lo abruma con tributos, lo destruye.
5 El que adula a su prójimo
le tiende una trampa ante sus pies.
6 Al malvado lo atrapa su propia maldad,
pero el justo puede cantar de alegría.
7 El justo se ocupa de la causa del desvalido;
el malvado ni sabe de qué se trata.
8 Los insolentes agitan la ciudad,
pero los sabios aplacan la ira.
9 Cuando el sabio entabla pleito contra un necio,
aunque se enoje o se ría, no logrará la paz.
10 Los asesinos aborrecen a los íntegros
y tratan de matar a los justos.
11 El necio da rienda suelta a su ira,
pero el sabio sabe dominarla.
12 Cuando un gobernante se deja llevar por mentiras,
todos sus oficiales se corrompen.
13 Algo en común tienen el pobre y el opresor:
a los dos el Señor les ha dado la vista.
14 El rey que juzga al pobre según la verdad
afirma su trono para siempre.
15 La vara de la disciplina imparte sabiduría,
pero el joven malcriado avergüenza a su madre.
16 Cuando aumentan los impíos, también aumenta el pecado,
pero los justos presenciarán su caída.
17 Disciplina a tu hijo, y te traerá tranquilidad;
te dará muchas satisfacciones.
18 Donde no hay visión, el pueblo se extravía;
¡dichosos los que son obedientes a la ley!
19 No solo con palabras se corrige al siervo;
aunque entienda, no obedecerá.
20 ¿Te has fijado en los que hablan sin pensar?
¡Más se puede esperar de un necio que de gente así!
21 El criado consentido desde niño
se convertirá en una persona insolente.
22 El hombre iracundo provoca peleas;
el hombre violento multiplica sus crímenes.
23 El altivo será humillado,
pero el de espíritu humilde será enaltecido.
24 El cómplice del ladrón atenta contra sí mismo;
aunque esté bajo juramento,[a] no testificará.
25 Temer a los hombres resulta una trampa,
pero el que confía en el Señor sale bien librado.
26 Muchos buscan el favor del gobernante,
pero solo el Señor hace justicia.
27 Los justos aborrecen a los malvados
y los malvados aborrecen a los justos.

29 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
26 Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the Lord.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
