Исус храни четири хиљаде људи
(Мт 15,32-39)
8 У то време се опет окупи силан народ. Пошто нису имали шта да једу, Исус позва к себи своје ученике, па им рече: 2 »Жао ми је народа, јер су већ три дана са мном, а немају шта да једу. 3 Ако их пошаљем кући гладне, малаксаће на путу. А неки од њих су дошли из далека.«
4 Његови ученици му одговорише: »Откуд би неко у овој пустоши могао да их нахрани хлебом?«
5 »Колико хлебова имате?« упита их Исус.
А они рекоше: »Седам.«
6 Тада он нареди да народ поседа по земљи, узе оних седам хлебова, захвали Богу, изломи их, па даде својим ученицима да их ставе пред народ, и они их ставише. 7 А имали су и неколико рибица. Он их благослови, па рече да и њих ставе пред народ. 8 И људи су јели и најели се. Преосталих комадића накупише седам кошара. 9 А тамо је било око четири хиљаде људи. Исус их отпусти 10 и одмах са ученицима уђе у чамац, па оде у далманутску област.
Фарисеји траже знак
(Мт 16,1-4)
11 Тада дођоше фарисеји, па почеше да расправљају с њим. Да би га искушали, затражише од њега знак са неба.
12 А он дубоко уздахну, па рече: »Зашто овај нараштај тражи знак? Истину вам кажем: никакав знак неће бити дат овом нараштају.«
13 Онда их остави, опет уђе у чамац и пређе на другу обалу.
Фарисејски и Иродов квасац
(Мт 16,5-12)
14 Ученици су заборавили да понесу хлеба, па су са собом у чамцу имали само једну векну.
15 »Пазите«, опомену их Исус. »Чувајте се фарисејског квасца и Иродовог квасца.«
16 А они су међу собом расправљали: »Немамо хлеба!«
17 Знајући то, Исус их упита: »Зашто расправљате о томе да немате хлеба? Зар још не схватате и не разумете? Зар вам је срце окорело? 18 Очи имате, а не видите. Уши имате, а не чујете. И не сећате се. 19 Када сам изломио пет хлебова за пет хиљада људи, колико сте корпи пуних комадића накупили?«
»Дванаест«, рекоше они.
20 »А када сам изломио седам хлебова за четири хиљаде људи, колико сте кошара пуних комадића накупили?«
»Седам«, одговорише.
21 А он их упита: »Зар још не разумете?«
Излечење слепога у Витсаиди
22 Када су стигли у Витсаиду, Исусу доведоше једног слепог човека, па га замолише да га дотакне. 23 Он узе слепога за руку и изведе га из села. Онда му пљуну у очи и на њега положи руке.
»Видиш ли нешто?« упита га.
24 А човек погледа, па рече: »Видим људе. Личе на дрвеће које хода.«
25 Исус му опет положи руке на очи, и он прогледа, вид му се поврати и све је јасно видео.
26 Тада га Исус посла његовој кући, рекавши: »Не улази у село.«
Исус је Христос
(Мт 16,13-20; Лк 9,18-21)
27 Потом Исус и његови ученици одоше у села око Кесарије Филипове.
Док су још били на путу, он упита своје ученике: »Шта кажу људи, ко сам ја?«
28 »Јован Крститељ«, одговорише му. »Други, да си Илија, а трећи, да си један од пророка.«
29 »А ви«, упита их, »шта ви кажете, ко сам ја?«
Тада Петар рече: »Ти си Христос!«
30 А он их строго опомену да ником о њему не говоре.
Исус предсказује своју смрт и васкрсење
(Мт 16,21-28; Лк 9,22-27)
31 Онда поче да их учи да Син човечији треба много да препати, да га одбаце старешине, првосвештеници и учитељи закона, да буде убијен и да после три дана васкрсне. 32 Отворено им је о томе говорио, па га Петар повуче на страну и поче да га прекорева.
33 А Исус се окрену, погледа ученике, па изгрди Петра и рече: »Бежи ми с очију, Сатано, јер не мислиш на Божије, него на људско.«
34 Потом позва к себи народ заједно са својим ученицима, па им рече: »Ко хоће да иде за мном, нека се одрекне самога себе, нека узме свој крст и пође за мном. 35 Јер, ко хоће да спасе свој живот, изгубиће га, а ко изгуби свој живот ради мене и еванђеља, спашће га. 36 Шта вреди човеку да добије цео свет, а свом животу науди? 37 Шта човек може дати у замену за свој живот?
38 »Ко се у овом прељубничком и грешном нараштају постиди мене и мојих речи, и њега ће се постидети Син човечији када дође у слави свога Оца са светим анђелима.

Seconda moltiplicazione dei pani
8 In quei giorni, essendoci di nuovo molta folla che non aveva da mangiare, chiamò a sé i discepoli e disse loro: 2 «Sento compassione di questa folla, perché gia da tre giorni mi stanno dietro e non hanno da mangiare. 3 Se li rimando digiuni alle proprie case, verranno meno per via; e alcuni di loro vengono di lontano». 4 Gli risposero i discepoli: «E come si potrebbe sfamarli di pane qui, in un deserto?». 5 E domandò loro: «Quanti pani avete?». Gli dissero: «Sette». 6 Gesù ordinò alla folla di sedersi per terra. Presi allora quei sette pani, rese grazie, li spezzò e li diede ai discepoli perché li distribuissero; ed essi li distribuirono alla folla. 7 Avevano anche pochi pesciolini; dopo aver pronunziata la benedizione su di essi, disse di distribuire anche quelli. 8 Così essi mangiarono e si saziarono; e portarono via sette sporte di pezzi avanzati. 9 Erano circa quattromila. E li congedò.
10 Salì poi sulla barca con i suoi discepoli e andò dalle parti di Dalmanùta.
I farisei domandano un segno dal cielo
11 Allora vennero i farisei e incominciarono a discutere con lui, chiedendogli un segno dal cielo, per metterlo alla prova. 12 Ma egli, traendo un profondo sospiro, disse: «Perché questa generazione chiede un segno? In verità vi dico: non sarà dato alcun segno a questa generazione». 13 E lasciatili, risalì sulla barca e si avviò all'altra sponda.
Il lievito dei farisei e di Erode
14 Ma i discepoli avevano dimenticato di prendere dei pani e non avevano con sé sulla barca che un pane solo. 15 Allora egli li ammoniva dicendo: «Fate attenzione, guardatevi dal lievito dei farisei e dal lievito di Erode!». 16 E quelli dicevano fra loro: «Non abbiamo pane». 17 Ma Gesù, accortosi di questo, disse loro: «Perché discutete che non avete pane? Non intendete e non capite ancora? Avete il cuore indurito? 18 Avete occhi e non vedete, avete orecchi e non udite? E non vi ricordate, 19 quando ho spezzato i cinque pani per i cinquemila, quante ceste colme di pezzi avete portato via?». Gli dissero: «Dodici». 20 «E quando ho spezzato i sette pani per i quattromila, quante sporte piene di pezzi avete portato via?». Gli dissero: «Sette». 21 E disse loro: «Non capite ancora?».
Guarigione di un cieco a Betsaida
22 Giunsero a Betsàida, dove gli condussero un cieco pregandolo di toccarlo. 23 Allora preso il cieco per mano, lo condusse fuori del villaggio e, dopo avergli messo della saliva sugli occhi, gli impose le mani e gli chiese: «Vedi qualcosa?». 24 Quegli, alzando gli occhi, disse: «Vedo gli uomini, poiché vedo come degli alberi che camminano». 25 Allora gli impose di nuovo le mani sugli occhi ed egli ci vide chiaramente e fu sanato e vedeva a distanza ogni cosa. 26 E lo rimandò a casa dicendo: «Non entrare nemmeno nel villaggio».
Professione di fede di Pietro
27 Poi Gesù partì con i suoi discepoli verso i villaggi intorno a Cesarèa di Filippo; e per via interrogava i suoi discepoli dicendo: «Chi dice la gente che io sia?». 28 Ed essi gli risposero: «Giovanni il Battista, altri poi Elia e altri uno dei profeti». 29 Ma egli replicò: «E voi chi dite che io sia?». Pietro gli rispose: «Tu sei il Cristo». 30 E impose loro severamente di non parlare di lui a nessuno.
Primo annunzio della passione
31 E cominciò a insegnar loro che il Figlio dell'uomo doveva molto soffrire, ed essere riprovato dagli anziani, dai sommi sacerdoti e dagli scribi, poi venire ucciso e, dopo tre giorni, risuscitare. 32 Gesù faceva questo discorso apertamente. Allora Pietro lo prese in disparte, e si mise a rimproverarlo. 33 Ma egli, voltatosi e guardando i discepoli, rimproverò Pietro e gli disse: «Lungi da me, satana! Perché tu non pensi secondo Dio, ma secondo gli uomini».
Condizioni per seguire Gesù
34 Convocata la folla insieme ai suoi discepoli, disse loro: «Se qualcuno vuol venire dietro di me rinneghi se stesso, prenda la sua croce e mi segua. 35 Perché chi vorrà salvare la propria vita, la perderà; ma chi perderà la propria vita per causa mia e del vangelo, la salverà. 36 Che giova infatti all'uomo guadagnare il mondo intero, se poi perde la propria anima? 37 E che cosa potrebbe mai dare un uomo in cambio della propria anima? 38 Chi si vergognerà di me e delle mie parole davanti a questa generazione adultera e peccatrice, anche il Figlio dell'uomo si vergognerà di lui, quando verrà nella gloria del Padre suo con gli angeli santi».

8 It was during that time that another large crowd gathered, and they had nothing to eat. Yeshua called his talmidim to him and said to them, 2 “I feel sorry for these people, because they have been with me three days, and now they have nothing to eat. 3 If I send them off to their homes hungry, they will collapse on the way; some of them have come a long distance.” 4 His talmidim said to him, “How can anyone find enough bread to satisfy these people in a remote place like this?” 5 “How many loaves do you have?” he asked them. They answered, “Seven.” 6 He then told the crowd to sit down on the ground, took the seven loaves, made a b’rakhah, broke the loaves and gave them to his talmidim to serve to the people. 7 They also had a few fish; making a b’rakhah over them he also ordered these to be served. 8 The people ate their fill; and the talmidim took up the leftover pieces, seven large basketsful. 9 About four thousand were there. 10 After sending them away, Yeshua got into the boat with his talmidim and went off to the district of Dalmanuta.
11 The P’rushim came and began arguing with him; they wanted him to give them a sign from Heaven, because they were out to trap him. 12 With a sigh that came straight from his heart, he said, “Why does this generation want a sign? Yes! I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation!” 13 With that, he left them, got into the boat again and went off to the other side of the lake.
14 Now the talmidim had forgotten to bring bread and had with them in the boat only one loaf. 15 So when Yeshua said to them, “Watch out! Guard yourselves from the hametz of the P’rushim and the hametz of Herod,” 16 they thought he had said it because they had no bread. 17 But, aware of this, he said, “Why are you talking with each other about having no bread? Don’t you see or understand yet? Have your hearts been made like stone? 18 You have eyes — don’t you see? You have ears — don’t you hear? And don’t you remember? 19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you collect?” “Twelve,” they answered him. 20 “And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you collect?” “Seven,” they answered. 21 He said to them, “And you still don’t understand?”
22 They came to Beit-Tzaidah. Some people brought him a blind man and begged Yeshua to touch him. 23 Taking the blind man’s hand, he led him outside the town. He spit in his eyes, put his hands on him and asked him, “Do you see anything?” 24 He looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like walking trees.” 25 Then he put his hands on the blind man’s eyes again. He peered intently, and his eyesight was restored, so that he could see everything distinctly. 26 Yeshua sent him home with the words, “Don’t go into town.”
27 Yeshua and his talmidim went on to the towns of Caesarea Philippi. On the way, he asked his talmidim, “Who are people saying I am?” 28 “Some say you are Yochanan the Immerser,” they told him, “others say Eliyahu, and still others, one of the prophets.” 29 “But you,” he asked, “who do you say I am?” Kefa answered, “You are the Mashiach.” 30 Then Yeshua warned them not to tell anyone about him. 31 He began teaching them that the Son of Man had to endure much suffering and be rejected by the elders, the head cohanim and the Torah-teachers; and that he had to be put to death; but that after three days, he had to rise again. 32 He spoke very plainly about it. Kefa took him aside and began rebuking him. 33 But, turning around and looking at his talmidim, he rebuked Kefa. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said, “For your thinking is from a human perspective, not from God’s perspective!”
34 Then Yeshua called the crowd and his talmidim to him and told them, “If anyone wants to come after me, let him say ‘No’ to himself, take up his execution-stake, and keep following me. 35 For whoever wants to save his own life will destroy it, but whoever destroys his life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News will save it. 36 Indeed, what will it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? 37 What could a person give in exchange for his life? 38 For if someone is ashamed of me and of what I say in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.
