1 Пророческа присъда. Слово от Господа към Израил, записано чрез ръката на Малахия.
2 (A)(B)(C)Господ е казал: „Аз възлюбих вас, израилтяните.“ А вие възразявате: „В какво си проявил Ти любов към нас?“ На това Господ отговаря: „Исав не беше ли брат на Яков? Но Аз възлюбих Яков, 3 а Исав намразих и предадох планините му на опустошение и владенията му – на степните чакали. 4 Макар потомците от племето на Едом да говорят: ‘Ние сме разорени, но отново ще изградим разрушеното’, но Аз, Господ Вседържител, казвам: ‘Те ще построят, но Аз ще разруша.’ И ще ги нарекат нечестива страна – народ, срещу който Господ завинаги се е разгневил. 5 Очите ви ще видят всичко това и вие ще кажете: ‘Господ се възвеличи и извън границите на Израил’!“
Греховете на свещениците
6 (D)„Син почита баща си и роб – господаря си. Ако Аз съм баща, къде е тогава почитта към Мене? И ако Аз съм Господ, къде е благоговението пред Мене?“ – това казва Господ Вседържител на вас, свещеници, които презирате името Му. Но вие възразявате на Господа: „С какво показахме презрение към Твоето име?“ 7 На това Той отговаря: „Вие принасяте на жертвеника Ми осквернени дарове, а казвате: ‘С какво показахме презрение?’ – С това, че казвате: ‘Трапезата на Господа не е тъй важна.’ 8 (E)А когато принасяте в жертва слепи животни, това не е ли лошо? Или когато принасяте куци и болни, това не е ли лошо? Поднеси това на твоя управител, ще окаже ли той благоволение към тебе и ще те приеме ли благосклонно?“ – казва Господ Вседържител.
9 А сега се постарайте да умилостивите Бога, за да прояви милост към нас. Може ли Господ Вседържител милостиво да приеме такива приноси от ръцете ви, милостиво да ви приеме? 10 (F)Господ Вседържител казва още: „По-добре някой от вас да затвори вратата на храма, за да не поддържат напразно огън на жертвеника Ми. Благоволението Ми не е към вас и приносът от ръцете ви не Ми е благоугоден. 11 Моето име ще се възвеличи между народите от Изток до Запад и на всяко място ще принасят на името Ми тамян и чиста жертва! Наистина Моето име ще се възвеличи между народите“ – казва Господ Вседържител. 12 „А вие го осквернявате с това, че казвате: ‘Трапезата на Господа не е тъй важна; това, което е върху нея, не е значително.’ 13 При това казвате: ‘Каква тегоба е тя!’, и я пренебрегвате“ – казва Господ Вседържител. „Вие принасяте и предлагате като жертва крадени, куци и болни животни. Мога ли Аз, Господ, да приемам с благоволение такива приноси от ръцете ви? 14 Проклет да бъде измамникът, който има в стадото мъжко без недостатък и го е обрекъл, а принася в жертва пред Господа нещо с недостатък. Защото Аз съм велик Цар и народите ще благоговеят пред името Ми.“ Това казва Господ Вседържител.

2 Аз ви възлюбих, казва Господ; А вие думате: В какво <се вижда че> си ни възлюбил? Не беше ли Исав брат на Якова? казва Господ; Но Аз възлюбих Якова,
3 А Исава намразих, И направих горите му да запустеят, И наследството му да бъде за чакалите на пустинята.
4 И ако рече Едом: Ние станахме бедни, Но ще съградим изново запустелите места, То така казва Господ на Силите: Те ще съградят, но Аз ще съборя; И ще се нарекат нечестива страна, И люде против които Господ негодува винаги.
5 Очите ви ще видят това, и ще речете: Господ е велик <и> оттатък Израилевия предел.
6 Син почита баща си, И слуга господаря си; Ако, прочее, съм Аз баща, где е почитта към Мене? И ако съм Господар, где е страхът от Мене? Казва Господ на Силите на вас, Свещеници, които презирате името Ми Но вие казвате: В какво показахме презрение към името Ти?
7 Принасяте осквернен хляб на олтара Ми. Но вие казвате: С какво Те осквернихме? С това, че казвате: Трапезата Господна е за презиране.
8 И когато принесете сляпо <животно> за жертва, не било лошо! И когато принесете куцо или болно, не било лошо! Принеси го сега на началника си; Ще бъде ли благоразположен към тебе, Или ще те приеме ли? Казва Господ на Силите.
9 И сега помолете се Богу за да се смили над нас; Понеже това <зло> е ставало чрез вас, Ще ви приеме ли? Казва Господ на Силите.
10 Дано някой от вас би затворил вратата <на храма, >За да не палите огън на олтара Ми напразно! Аз не благоволя към вас Казва Господ на Силите, Нито ще приема принос от ръката ви.
11 Защото от изгрева на слънцето до захождането му Името Ми ще бъде велико между народите, И на всяко място ще се принася на името Ми темян И чист принос. Защото Моето име ще бъде велико между народите, Казва Господ на Силите;
12 Но вие го осквернявате, като думате: Трапезата Господна е скверна, И това, което тя <ни> доставя, ястието от нея, е за презиране.
13 Думате още: Ето, каква досада е тя! И я презирате, казва Господ на Силите, Като докарвате грабнатото, куцото и болното. Такъв принос като докарвате, Да го приема ли от ръцете ви? казва Господ.
14 Затова проклет да бъде измамникът, Който, като има в стадото си мъжко, И прави обрек, жертвува Господу нещо с недостатък; Защото Аз съм велик Цар, Казва Господ на Силите. И името Ми е страшно между народите.

1 Este es el mensaje profético que el SEÑOR envió a Israel por medio de Malaquías.
Dios ama a Israel
2 «Yo los he amado», dice el SEÑOR, y ustedes preguntan: «¿Cómo sabemos que nos has amado?» El SEÑOR dice: «Ustedes saben que Esaú y Jacob eran hermanos y que, sin embargo, amé[a] a Jacob 3 y odié[b] a Esaú. Destruí las montañas de Esaú[c] y entregué sus tierras a los chacales del desierto».
4 Aunque el pueblo de Edom diga: «Nos han destruido, pero reconstruiremos de entre las ruinas», el SEÑOR Todopoderoso dice: «Ellos podrán reconstruir, pero yo volveré a destruir». Entonces la gente dirá que Edom es territorio perverso, al que el SEÑOR ha maldecido para siempre.
5 Ustedes lo verán todo y dirán: «El poder del SEÑOR va más allá de las fronteras de Israel».
La gente no respeta a Dios
6 El SEÑOR Todopoderoso dice: «El hijo honra al padre y el siervo a su amo, entonces, ¿dónde está el honor que ustedes me deben por ser su padre? ¿Dónde está el respeto que ustedes me deben por ser su amo? Ustedes los sacerdotes me faltan al respeto y luego se atreven a preguntar: “¿En qué te hemos faltado al respeto?” 7 Pues en que no han honrado mi nombre al ofrecer alimentos impuros en mi altar. Ustedes preguntan: “¿En qué no te hemos honrado?” Pues en que ustedes consideran que la mesa del SEÑOR es algo despreciable.
8 »¿Acaso creen que está bien ofrecer como sacrificio un animal ciego? ¿No está mal que sacrifiquen animales cojos o enfermos? Lleven a uno de esos animales a su gobernante a ver si a él le gusta que se lo den como regalo. ¿Creen que él les daría las gracias por eso?» Dice el SEÑOR Todopoderoso.
9 Ahora pídanle a Dios que tenga compasión de ustedes, pero no los escuchará por culpa de ustedes, ya que ninguno hace lo que a él le agrada. 10 El SEÑOR Todopoderoso dice: «Quisiera que alguno de ustedes cerrara las puertas del templo y así no siguieran ofreciendo sacrificios inútiles. Todos ustedes me caen mal, no aceptaré nada que venga de ustedes. 11 Pues desde donde sale el sol hasta donde se oculta, se honra mi nombre entre las naciones. En todo lugar se quema incienso para honrar mi nombre y se hace ofrenda pura, porque mi fama es grande entre las naciones» dice el SEÑOR Todopoderoso. 12 «Ustedes dañan mi reputación cuando piensan que la mesa del Señor no merece respeto y cuando desprecian la cosecha y la comida que ahí se ofrecen. 13 También cuando dicen: “¡Qué asco!”, miran con desprecio esos alimentos y luego me traen como ofrenda animales robados, cojos y enfermos. ¿Acaso creen que los recibiré con gusto?» Lo dice el SEÑOR. 14 «Maldito sea el tramposo que promete ofrecerle al Señor uno de sus mejores animales, pero en realidad le sacrifica el que tiene más defectos. Yo soy el gran rey y todas las naciones respetan mi nombre». Lo que dice el SEÑOR Todopoderoso.

Israel Doubts God’s Love
2 “I have loved(C) you,” says the Lord.
“But you ask,(D) ‘How have you loved us?’
“Was not Esau Jacob’s brother?” declares the Lord. “Yet I have loved Jacob,(E) 3 but Esau I have hated,(F) and I have turned his hill country into a wasteland(G) and left his inheritance to the desert jackals.(H)”
4 Edom(I) may say, “Though we have been crushed, we will rebuild(J) the ruins.”
But this is what the Lord Almighty says: “They may build, but I will demolish.(K) They will be called the Wicked Land, a people always under the wrath of the Lord.(L) 5 You will see it with your own eyes and say, ‘Great(M) is the Lord—even beyond the borders of Israel!’(N)
Breaking Covenant Through Blemished Sacrifices
6 “A son honors his father,(O) and a slave his master.(P) If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect(Q) due me?” says the Lord Almighty.(R)
“It is you priests who show contempt for my name.
“But you ask,(S) ‘How have we shown contempt for your name?’
7 “By offering defiled food(T) on my altar.
“But you ask,(U) ‘How have we defiled you?’
“By saying that the Lord’s table(V) is contemptible. 8 When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals,(W) is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased(X) with you? Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty.(Y)
9 “Now plead with God to be gracious to us. With such offerings(Z) from your hands, will he accept(AA) you?”—says the Lord Almighty.
10 “Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors,(AB) so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased(AC) with you,” says the Lord Almighty, “and I will accept(AD) no offering(AE) from your hands. 11 My name will be great(AF) among the nations,(AG) from where the sun rises to where it sets.(AH) In every place incense(AI) and pure offerings(AJ) will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations,” says the Lord Almighty.
12 “But you profane it by saying, ‘The Lord’s table(AK) is defiled,’ and, ‘Its food(AL) is contemptible.’ 13 And you say, ‘What a burden!’(AM) and you sniff at it contemptuously,(AN)” says the Lord Almighty.
“When you bring injured, lame or diseased animals and offer them as sacrifices,(AO) should I accept them from your hands?”(AP) says the Lord. 14 “Cursed is the cheat who has an acceptable male in his flock and vows to give it, but then sacrifices a blemished animal(AQ) to the Lord. For I am a great king,(AR)” says the Lord Almighty,(AS) “and my name is to be feared(AT) among the nations.(AU)

2 I have loved you, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the Lord: yet I loved Jacob,
3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
4 Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the Lord of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the Lord hath indignation for ever.
5 And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The Lord will be magnified from the border of Israel.
6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
7 Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the Lord is contemptible.
8 And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the Lord of hosts.
9 And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the Lord of hosts.
10 Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the Lord of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.
12 But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.
13 Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the Lord of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the Lord.
14 But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
