25 Господ говори още на Моисея на Синайската планина, казвайки:
2 Говори на израилтяните, като им кажеш: Когато влезете в земята, която Аз ви давам, тогава земята да пази една събота за Господа.
3 Шест години да сееш нивите си и шест години да режеш лозето си и да събираш плода му;
4 а седмата година да бъде събота за тържествена почивка на земята, събота на Господа; <в нея> да не сееш нивата си и да не режеш лозето си.
5 Да не жънеш и саморасла жетва, нито да обираш грозде от нерязано лозе; година за тържествена почивка да бъде на земята.
6 <Произведеното през> тая събота на земята ще ви бъде за храна: на тебе, на слугата ти, на слугинята ти, на наемника ти и на чужденеца, който се е заселил при тебе;
7 на добитъка ти, и на животните, които са в земята ти, всичкото нейно произведение ще бъде за храна.
8 Да си изброиш седем седмици от години, седем пъти по седем години, та, като ти мине времето на седем седмици от години, сиреч, четиридесет и девет години,
9 тогава, на десетия ден от седмия месец, да накараш да се затръби с възклицание; в деня на умилостивението да накарате да се затръби из цялата ви земя.
10 И да осветите петдесетата година и да прогласите освобождение из цялата земя на всичките й жители; това ще ви бъде юбилей, когато ще се върнете, всеки на притежанието си, и ще се върнете, всеки при семейството си.
11 Петдесетата година да ви бъде юбилейна <година>; през нея да не сеете, нито да жънете самораслото, нито да берете нерязаното лозе.
12 Защото това е юбилей; той нека ви бъде свет; от полето да се храните с произведеното от него.
13 В тая юбилейна година да се върнете, всеки на притежанието си.
14 И ако продадеш нещо на ближния си, или купиш нещо от ближния си, да се не онеправдавате едни други;
15 но според числото на годините след юбилея да купуваш от ближния си, и според числото на годините на плодосъбирането да ти продава.
16 Според колкото са по-много годините, ще повишиш цената му, и според колкото са по-малко годините, ще понижиш цената му; защото той ти продава според числото на плодосъбиранията.
17 Да се не онеправдавате един други; но да се боиш от своя Бог; защото Аз съм Иеова вашият Бог.
18 И тъй, да държите повеленията Ми, да пазите съдбите Ми и да ги вършите, та да живеете безопасно на земята.
19 Земята ще дава плодовете си; и вие ще ядете до насита и ще живеете безопасно на нея.
20 И ако речете: Какво ще ядем в седмата година, като не посеем, нито съберем плодовете си?
21 Тогава ще заповядам така да се благослови за вас шестата година, щото ще роди плод за три години.
22 А в осмата година ще сеете и ще ядете от старите плодове до деветата година; догдето се съберат нейните плодове ще ядете старите запаси.
23 Земята да се не продава за всегда, понеже земята е Моя; защото вие сте чужденци и пришелци при Мене.
24 За това в цялата земя, която притежавате, позволявайте откупване на земята.
25 Ако осиромашее брат ти и продаде нещо от притежанието си, нека дойде най-близкият му сродник и да откупи онова, което брат му е продал.
26 Но ако човекът няма< сродник> да го откупи, и, като се улесни, сам намери с какво да го откупи,
27 тогава нека сметне годините от продажбата му, и нека повърне излишъка на онзи, комуто го е продал, и нека се върне на притежанието си.
28 Но ако не може да намери колкото трябва да плати, тогава продаденото да остане в ръката на купувача му до юбилейната година; и в юбилея да се освободи, и той да се върне на притежанието си.
29 Ако някой продаде къщата за живеене в ограден град, тогава може да я откупи в разстояние на една цяла година от продажбата й; за една цяла година той ще има право да я откупи.
30 Но ако се не откупи до изтичането на една цяла година тогава оная къща, която е в ограден град, да се потвърди за всегда на купувача й във всичките му поколения, в юбилей да се не освобождава.
31 Но къщите в неоградените села да се считат, както полетата на земята; те може да се откупуват и да се освобождават в юбилей.
32 Обаче в левитските градове, левитите могат кога да е да откупуват къщите в градовете, които притежават.
33 И ако някой купи <къща> от левитите, тогава продадената къща вътре в града, който притежават {В изданието от 1940 г. - "притежава".} да се освободи в юбилей; защото къщите в градовете на левитите са тяхно притежание между израилтяните.

35 Ако осиромашее брат ти, и видиш, че ръката му трепери, тогава да му помогнеш, <като> на чужденец или пришелец, за да живее при тебе.
36 Да не му вземеш лихва или печалба, но да се боиш от своя Бог, та да живее брат ти при тебе.
37 Парите си да не му дадеш с лихва, нито храната си да му дадеш за печалба.
38 Аз съм Господ вашият Бог, Който ви изведох из Египетската земя, за да ви дам Ханаанската земя, и да бъда ваш Бог.
39 Ако осиромашее брат ти при тебе и ти се продаде, да го не натоваряш с робска работа.
40 Нека бъде той като наемник или пришелец при тебе; нека ти работи до юбилейната година;
41 тогава да си излезе от тебе, той и чадата му с него, и да се върне при семейството си, и на притежанието на бащите си да се върне.
42 Защото те са Мои слуги, които изведох из Египетската земя; да се не продават като роби;
43 да не господаруваш над него жестоко, но да се боиш от своя Бог.
44 А колкото за робите и робините, които ще имаш, - от народите, които са около вас, от тях да купуваш роби и робини.
45 Още и от чадата на чужденците, които са пришелци между вас, от тях да купувате, и от техните семейства, които са между вас, които те са родили в земята ви; те да ви бъдат притежание.
46 И да ги оставяте в наследство на чадата си; те да ги наследват подир вас, като притежание; винаги от тях да бъдат вашите роби; но над братята си, израилтяните, да не господарувате един над друг жестоко.
47 Ако чужденецът или пришелецът, който живее при тебе, се замогне, а брат ти осиромашее при него, та се продаде на чужденеца или на пришелеца при тебе, или на кого да е от семейството на чужденеца,
48 то, след като се продаде, той може да се откупи; един от братята му може да го откупи;
49 или стрикът му или стриковият му син може да го откупи, или някой близък сродник от семейството му може да го откупи, или ако той се е улеснил, може сам да откупи себе си.
50 Тогава нека сметне с купувача си от годината, когато му се е продал до юбилейната година, така, че цената, за която се е продал, да бъде съразмерно с числото на годините; да му се сметне съразмерно с времето на наемник.
51 Ако остават още много години, съразмерно с тях да възвърне за откупването си от парите, с които е бил купен.

The Sabbath Year
25 The Lord spoke to Moses at Mount Sinai. He said, 2 “Speak to the Israelites. Tell them, ‘You will enter the land I am going to give you. When you do, you must honor the Lord every seventh year by not farming the land that year. 3 For six years plant your fields. Trim the branches in your vineyards and gather your crops. 4 But the seventh year must be a year of sabbath rest for the land. The land must rest during it. It is a sabbath year to honor the Lord. Do not plant your fields. Do not trim the branches in your vineyards. 5 Do not gather what grows without being planted. And do not gather the grapes from the vines you have not taken care of. The land must have a year of rest. 6 Anything the land produces during the sabbath year will be food for you. It will be for you and your male and female servants. Your hired workers will eat it. So will people who live with you for a while. 7 And so will your livestock and the wild animals that are in your land. Anything the land produces can be eaten.
The Year of Jubilee
8 “ ‘Count off seven sabbath years. Count off seven times seven years. The seven sabbath years add up to a total of 49 years. 9 The tenth day of the seventh month is the day when sin is paid for. On that day blow the trumpet all through your land. 10 Set the 50th year apart. Announce freedom all over the land to everyone who lives there. The 50th year will be a Year of Jubilee for you. Each of you must return to your own family property. And each of you must return to your own tribe. 11 The 50th year will be a Year of Jubilee for you. Do not plant anything. Do not gather what grows without being planted. And do not gather the grapes from the vines you have not taken care of. 12 It is a Year of Jubilee. It will be holy for you. Eat only what the fields produce.
13 “ ‘In the Year of Jubilee all of you must return to your own property.
14 “ ‘Suppose you sell land to any of your own people. Or you buy land from them. Then do not take advantage of each other. 15 The price you pay must be based on the number of years since the last Year of Jubilee. Here is how the price you charge must be decided. It must be based on the number of years left for gathering crops before the next Year of Jubilee. 16 When there are many years left, you must raise the price. When there are only a few years left, you must lower the price. That is because what is really being sold to you is the number of crops the land will produce. 17 Do not take advantage of each other. Instead, have respect for your God. I am the Lord your God.
18 “ ‘Follow my rules. Be careful to obey my laws. Then you will live safely in the land. 19 The land will produce its fruit. You will eat as much as you want. And you will live there in safety. 20 Suppose you say, “In the seventh year we will not plant anything or gather our crops. So what will we eat?” 21 I will send you a great blessing in the sixth year. The land will produce enough for three years. 22 While you plant during the eighth year, you will eat food from the old crop. You will continue to eat food from it until the crops from the ninth year are gathered.
23 “ ‘The land must not be sold without a way of getting it back. That is because it belongs to me. You are only outsiders and strangers in my land. 24 You must make sure that you can buy the land back. That applies to all the land that belongs to you.
25 “ ‘Suppose one of your own people becomes poor. And suppose they have to sell some of their land. Then their nearest relative must come and buy back what they have sold. 26 But suppose they do not have anyone to buy it back for them. And suppose things go well for them and they earn enough money to buy it back themselves. 27 Then they must decide how much the crops have become worth since the time they sold the land. They must take that amount off the price the land was sold for. They must give the one selling it back to them the money that is left. Then they can go back to their own property. 28 But suppose they have not earned enough money to pay them back. Then the buyer they sold the land to will keep it until the Year of Jubilee. At that time it will be returned to them. Then they can go back to their property.
29 “ ‘Suppose someone sells a house in a city that has a wall around it. Then for a full year after they sell it they have the right to buy it back. 30 But suppose they do not buy it back before the full year has passed. Then the house in the walled city will continue to belong to the buyer and the buyer’s children. It will not be returned to the seller in the Year of Jubilee. 31 But houses in villages that do not have walls around them must be treated like property outside walled cities. Those houses can be bought back at any time. And they must be returned in the Year of Jubilee.
32 “ ‘The Levites always have the right to buy back their houses in the towns that belong to them. 33 So their property among the Israelites can be bought back. That applies to a house sold in any of their towns. Any house that is sold must be returned to its original owner in the Year of Jubilee. That is because the houses of the Levites will always belong to them. 34 But the grasslands around their towns must never be sold. They will belong to them for all time to come.
35 “ ‘Suppose any of your own people become poor. And suppose they can’t take care of themselves. Then help them just as you would help an outsider or a stranger. In that way, the poor can continue to live among you. 36 Do not charge them interest of any kind. Instead, have respect for God. Then those who have become poor can continue to live among you. 37 If you lend them money, you must not charge them interest. And you must not sell them food for more than it cost you. 38 I am the Lord your God. I brought you out of Egypt. I did it to give you the land of Canaan. I wanted to be your God.
39 “ ‘Suppose any of your own people become poor. And suppose they sell themselves to you. Then do not make them work as slaves. 40 You must treat them like hired workers. Or you must treat them like those living among you for a while. They must work for you until the Year of Jubilee. 41 Then they and their children must be set free. They will go back to their own tribes. They will go back to the property their people have always owned. 42 The Israelites are my servants. I brought them out of Egypt. So they must not be sold as slaves. 43 Show them pity when you rule over them. Have respect for God.
44 “ ‘You must get your male and female slaves from the nations that are around you. You can buy slaves from them. 45 You can also buy as slaves some of the people living among you for a while. You can also buy members of their families born among you. They will become your property. 46 You can leave them to your children as their share of your property. You can make them slaves for life. But when you rule over your own people, you must be kind to them.
47 “ ‘Suppose an outsider living among you for a while becomes rich. Then suppose any of your own people become poor. Then they sell themselves to the outsider living among you. Or they sell themselves to a member of the outsider’s family. 48 Then they keep the right to buy themselves back after they have sold themselves. One of their relatives can buy them back. 49 An uncle or a cousin can buy them back after they have sold themselves. In fact, any relative in their tribe can do it. Or suppose things go well for them. Then they can buy themselves back. 50 They and their buyer must count the number of years from the time of the sale up to the Year of Jubilee. The price for their freedom must be based on the amount paid to a hired man for that number of years. 51 Suppose there are many years until the Year of Jubilee. Then for their freedom they must pay a larger share of the price paid for them. 52 But suppose there are only a few years left until the Year of Jubilee. Then they must count the number of years that are left. The payment for their freedom must be based on that number. 53 They must be treated as workers hired from year to year. You must make sure that those they must work for are kind to them when they rule over them.
54 “ ‘Suppose they are not bought back in any of those ways. Then they and their children must still be set free in the Year of Jubilee. 55 That’s because the Israelites belong to me. They are my servants. I brought them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

25 The Lord said to Moses at Mount Sinai,(A) 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you, the land itself must observe a sabbath to the Lord. 3 For six years sow your fields, and for six years prune your vineyards and gather their crops.(B) 4 But in the seventh year the land is to have a year of sabbath rest,(C) a sabbath to the Lord. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards.(D) 5 Do not reap what grows of itself(E) or harvest the grapes(F) of your untended vines.(G) The land is to have a year of rest. 6 Whatever the land yields during the sabbath year(H) will be food for you—for yourself, your male and female servants, and the hired worker and temporary resident who live among you, 7 as well as for your livestock and the wild animals(I) in your land. Whatever the land produces may be eaten.
The Year of Jubilee(J)(K)
8 “‘Count off seven sabbath years—seven times seven years—so that the seven sabbath years amount to a period of forty-nine years. 9 Then have the trumpet(L) sounded everywhere on the tenth day of the seventh month;(M) on the Day of Atonement(N) sound the trumpet throughout your land. 10 Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty(O) throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee(P) for you; each of you is to return to your family property(Q) and to your own clan. 11 The fiftieth year shall be a jubilee(R) for you; do not sow and do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the untended vines.(S) 12 For it is a jubilee and is to be holy for you; eat only what is taken directly from the fields.
13 “‘In this Year of Jubilee(T) everyone is to return to their own property.
14 “‘If you sell land to any of your own people or buy land from them, do not take advantage of each other.(U) 15 You are to buy from your own people on the basis of the number of years(V) since the Jubilee. And they are to sell to you on the basis of the number of years left for harvesting crops. 16 When the years are many, you are to increase the price, and when the years are few, you are to decrease the price,(W) because what is really being sold to you is the number of crops. 17 Do not take advantage of each other,(X) but fear your God.(Y) I am the Lord your God.(Z)
18 “‘Follow my decrees and be careful to obey my laws,(AA) and you will live safely in the land.(AB) 19 Then the land will yield its fruit,(AC) and you will eat your fill and live there in safety.(AD) 20 You may ask, “What will we eat in the seventh year(AE) if we do not plant or harvest our crops?” 21 I will send you such a blessing(AF) in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years.(AG) 22 While you plant during the eighth year, you will eat from the old crop and will continue to eat from it until the harvest of the ninth year comes in.(AH)
23 “‘The land(AI) must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine(AJ) and you reside in my land as foreigners(AK) and strangers. 24 Throughout the land that you hold as a possession, you must provide for the redemption(AL) of the land.
25 “‘If one of your fellow Israelites becomes poor and sells some of their property, their nearest relative(AM) is to come and redeem(AN) what they have sold. 26 If, however, there is no one to redeem it for them but later on they prosper(AO) and acquire sufficient means to redeem it themselves, 27 they are to determine the value for the years(AP) since they sold it and refund the balance to the one to whom they sold it; they can then go back to their own property.(AQ) 28 But if they do not acquire the means to repay, what was sold will remain in the possession of the buyer until the Year of Jubilee. It will be returned(AR) in the Jubilee, and they can then go back to their property.(AS)
29 “‘Anyone who sells a house in a walled city retains the right of redemption a full year after its sale. During that time the seller may redeem it. 30 If it is not redeemed before a full year has passed, the house in the walled city shall belong permanently to the buyer and the buyer’s descendants. It is not to be returned in the Jubilee. 31 But houses in villages without walls around them are to be considered as belonging to the open country. They can be redeemed, and they are to be returned in the Jubilee.
32 “‘The Levites always have the right to redeem their houses in the Levitical towns,(AT) which they possess. 33 So the property of the Levites is redeemable—that is, a house sold in any town they hold—and is to be returned in the Jubilee, because the houses in the towns of the Levites are their property among the Israelites. 34 But the pastureland belonging to their towns must not be sold; it is their permanent possession.(AU)
35 “‘If any of your fellow Israelites become poor(AV) and are unable to support themselves among you, help them(AW) as you would a foreigner and stranger, so they can continue to live among you. 36 Do not take interest(AX) or any profit from them, but fear your God,(AY) so that they may continue to live among you. 37 You must not lend them money at interest(AZ) or sell them food at a profit. 38 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan(BA) and to be your God.(BB)
39 “‘If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and sell themselves to you, do not make them work as slaves.(BC) 40 They are to be treated as hired workers(BD) or temporary residents among you; they are to work for you until the Year of Jubilee. 41 Then they and their children are to be released, and they will go back to their own clans and to the property(BE) of their ancestors.(BF) 42 Because the Israelites are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt,(BG) they must not be sold as slaves. 43 Do not rule over them ruthlessly,(BH) but fear your God.(BI)
44 “‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.
47 “‘If a foreigner residing among you becomes rich and any of your fellow Israelites become poor and sell themselves(BJ) to the foreigner or to a member of the foreigner’s clan, 48 they retain the right of redemption(BK) after they have sold themselves. One of their relatives(BL) may redeem them: 49 An uncle or a cousin or any blood relative in their clan may redeem them. Or if they prosper,(BM) they may redeem themselves. 50 They and their buyer are to count the time from the year they sold themselves up to the Year of Jubilee.(BN) The price for their release is to be based on the rate paid to a hired worker(BO) for that number of years. 51 If many years remain, they must pay for their redemption a larger share of the price paid for them. 52 If only a few years remain until the Year of Jubilee, they are to compute that and pay for their redemption accordingly.(BP) 53 They are to be treated as workers hired from year to year; you must see to it that those to whom they owe service do not rule over them ruthlessly.(BQ)
54 “‘Even if someone is not redeemed in any of these ways, they and their children are to be released in the Year of Jubilee, 55 for the Israelites belong to me as servants. They are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt.(BR) I am the Lord your God.(BS)
