2 И вас, мертвых по преступлениям и грехам вашим,
2 в которых вы некогда жили, по обычаю мира сего, по [воле] князя, господствующего в воздухе, духа, действующего ныне в сынах противления,
3 между которыми и мы все жили некогда по нашим плотским похотям, исполняя желания плоти и помыслов, и были по природе чадами гнева, как и прочие,
4 Бог, богатый милостью, по Своей великой любви, которою возлюбил нас,
5 и нас, мертвых по преступлениям, оживотворил со Христом, --благодатью вы спасены, --
6 и воскресил с Ним, и посадил на небесах во Христе Иисусе,
7 дабы явить в грядущих веках преизобильное богатство благодати Своей в благости к нам во Христе Иисусе.
8 Ибо благодатью вы спасены через веру, и сие не от вас, Божий дар:
9 не от дел, чтобы никто не хвалился.
10 Ибо мы--Его творение, созданы во Христе Иисусе на добрые дела, которые Бог предназначил нам исполнять.
11 Итак помните, что вы, некогда язычники по плоти, которых называли необрезанными так называемые обрезанные плотским [обрезанием], совершаемым руками,
12 что вы были в то время без Христа, отчуждены от общества Израильского, чужды заветов обетования, не имели надежды и были безбожники в мире.
13 А теперь во Христе Иисусе вы, бывшие некогда далеко, стали близки Кровию Христовою.
14 Ибо Он есть мир наш, соделавший из обоих одно и разрушивший стоявшую посреди преграду,
15 упразднив вражду Плотию Своею, а закон заповедей учением, дабы из двух создать в Себе Самом одного нового человека, устрояя мир,
16 и в одном теле примирить обоих с Богом посредством креста, убив вражду на нем.
17 И, придя, благовествовал мир вам, дальним и близким,
18 потому что через Него и те и другие имеем доступ к Отцу, в одном Духе.
19 Итак вы уже не чужие и не пришельцы, но сограждане святым и свои Богу,
20 быв утверждены на основании Апостолов и пророков, имея Самого Иисуса Христа краеугольным [камнем],
21 на котором все здание, слагаясь стройно, возрастает в святый храм в Господе,
22 на котором и вы устрояетесь в жилище Божие Духом.

Спасение по благодати через веру в Христа
2 Вы были мертвыми из-за ваших преступлений и грехов 2 и поступали так, как принято в этом греховном мире, по велениям властителя сил, обитающих в воздухе, – духа, действующего ныне в тех, кто противится Богу. 3 Мы все когда-то были такими и поступали по своим природным желаниям, следуя своей похоти. Нас, как и всех остальных, ожидал Божий гнев. 4 Но Бог, богатый милостью, проявил такую огромную любовь к нам, 5 что нас, хотя мы и были мертвыми из-за наших преступлений, оживил вместе со Христом.
Вы спасены по благодати. 6 И Бог воскресил нас вместе со Христом и посадил нас, объединившихся с Иисусом Христом, в небесах. 7 Тем самым Он хотел показать в грядущих веках безмерное богатство Своей благодати к нам через Иисуса Христа. 8 Потому что вы спасены по благодати через веру, и это не ваша заслуга – это дар Божий. 9 Не за дела, чтобы никто не хвалился тем, что он якобы заслужил спасение. 10 Мы теперь новое творение Божье, созданы в Иисусе Христе для совершения добрых дел, которые Бог предназначил нам совершать.

14 Он Сам примирил нас, иудеев, и вас, язычников, и сделал из двух одно, разрушив Своей смертью[b] стоявшую между нами стену, то есть разделявшую нас вражду. 15 Он упразднил Закон с его повелениями и правилами, и Его цель – создать в Себе из двух один новый народ, установить мир 16 и обоих, в одном теле, примирить с Богом через крест, уничтожив Собою вражду. 17 Он пришел и принес Радостную Весть о мире вам, бывшим далеко от Него, и тем, кто был близок к Нему[c], 18 поэтому через Него мы все в одном Духе получили доступ к Отцу.
19 Поэтому вы уже не чужие и не инородцы; вы сограждане святому народу Божьему и члены Его семьи. 20 Вы воздвигнуты на основании, которым являются апостолы и пророки[d], а его краеугольный Камень – Иисус Христос. 21 На Нем крепится все здание, поднимающееся все выше и становящееся святым храмом в Господе. 22 В Нем и вы созидаетесь вместе, чтобы стать жилищем, в котором Бог живет Своим Духом.

2 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,(A) 2 in which you used to live(B) when you followed the ways of this world(C) and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air,(D) the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.(E) 3 All of us also lived among them at one time,(F) gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a](G) and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us,(H) God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions(I)—it is by grace you have been saved.(J) 6 And God raised us up with Christ(K) and seated us with him(L) in the heavenly realms(M) in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace,(N) expressed in his kindness(O) to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace(P) you have been saved,(Q) through faith(R)—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works,(S) so that no one can boast.(T) 10 For we are God’s handiwork,(U) created(V) in Christ Jesus to do good works,(W) which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Jew and Gentile Reconciled Through Christ
11 Therefore, remember that formerly(X) you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)(Y)— 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners(Z) to the covenants of the promise,(AA) without hope(AB) and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once(AC) were far away have been brought near(AD) by the blood of Christ.(AE)
14 For he himself is our peace,(AF) who has made the two groups one(AG) and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh(AH) the law with its commands and regulations.(AI) His purpose was to create in himself one(AJ) new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross,(AK) by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace(AL) to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.(AM) 18 For through him we both have access(AN) to the Father(AO) by one Spirit.(AP)
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers,(AQ) but fellow citizens(AR) with God’s people and also members of his household,(AS) 20 built(AT) on the foundation(AU) of the apostles and prophets,(AV) with Christ Jesus himself(AW) as the chief cornerstone.(AX) 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple(AY) in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.(AZ)
