Jeremiah 6:2-4

2 I will destroy Daughter Zion,(A)
so beautiful and delicate.(B)
3 Shepherds(C) with their flocks will come against her;
they will pitch their tents around(D) her,
each tending his own portion.”
4 “Prepare for battle against her!
Arise, let us attack at noon!(E)
But, alas, the daylight is fading,
and the shadows of evening grow long.

To a lovely and delicate woman.

Woe to us, for the day goes away,
For the shadows of the evening are lengthening.
