Жертвенник для возжигания благовоний(A)

30 – Сделай из акации жертвенник для возжигания благовоний. 2 Пусть он будет квадратным: по сорок пять сантиметров в длину и ширину и девяносто сантиметров[a] в высоту. Пусть его рога будут составлять с ним одно целое. 3 Покрой чистым золотом его верхушку, стороны и рога и сделай золотой ободок вокруг жертвенника. 4 Под ободком с двух противоположных сторон сделай два золотых кольца, чтобы держать шесты, на которых его будут носить. 5 Сделай шесты из акации и позолоти их. 6 Поставь жертвенник перед завесой, за которой находится сундук соглашения, где над крышкой искупления Я буду пребывать во время встречи с тобой.

7 Пусть Харун возжигает благовония на жертвеннике каждое утро, когда заправляет светильники. 8 Пусть он возжигает их вновь, когда зажигает светильники вечером. Пусть в грядущих поколениях благовония возжигаются перед Вечным постоянно. 9 Не приноси на этом жертвеннике другое благовоние, всесожжение или хлебное приношение и не делай на нём возлияний. 10 Раз в год Харун будет очищать жертвенник, нанося кровь очистительной жертвы за грех на его рога. Пусть это очищение совершается ежегодно и в грядущих поколениях. Этот жертвенник – великая святыня Вечного.

Выкуп при переписи

11 Вечный сказал Мусе:

Бронзовый умывальник

17 Вечный сказал Мусе:

18 – Сделай для омовений бронзовый умывальник с бронзовым основанием. Поставь его между шатром встречи и жертвенником и налей в него воды. 19 Пусть Харун и его сыновья моют свои руки и ноги водой из этого умывальника. 20 Перед тем, как войти в шатёр встречи, пусть они омываются, чтобы не умереть. Пусть, приближаясь к жертвеннику, чтобы служить, совершая огненную жертву Вечному, 21 они моют руки и ноги, чтобы не умереть. Пусть он будет подсолен, чист и священен. 36 Истолки его в порошок и положи перед сундуком соглашения в шатре встречи, где Я буду встречаться с тобой. Это будет великой святыней для вас. 37 Не делайте себе благовоний по этому рецепту, помните, что это святыня Вечного. 38 Всякий, кто сделает подобный состав, чтобы наслаждаться его запахом, будет исторгнут из своего народа.

30 Tu feras un autel pour brûler des parfums, tu le feras de bois d'acacia;

2 sa longueur sera d'une coudée, et sa largeur d'une coudée; il sera carré, et sa hauteur sera de deux coudées. Tu feras des cornes qui sortiront de l'autel.

3 Tu le couvriras d'or pur, le dessus, les côtés tout autour et les cornes, et tu y feras une bordure d'or tout autour.

4 Tu feras au-dessous de la bordure deux anneaux d'or aux deux côtés; tu en mettras aux deux côtés, pour recevoir les barres qui serviront à le porter.

5 Tu feras les barres de bois d'acacia, et tu les couvriras d'or.

6 Tu placeras l'autel en face du voile qui est devant l'arche du témoignage, en face du propitiatoire qui est sur le témoignage, et où je me rencontrerai avec toi.

7 Aaron y fera brûler du parfum odoriférant; il en fera brûler chaque matin, lorsqu'il préparera les lampes;

8 il en fera brûler aussi entre les deux soirs, lorsqu'il arrangera les lampes. C'est ainsi que l'on brûlera à perpétuité du parfum devant l'Éternel parmi vos descendants.

9 Vous n'offrirez sur l'autel ni parfum étranger, ni holocauste, ni offrande, et vous n'y répandrez aucune libation.

10 Une fois chaque année, Aaron fera des expiations sur les cornes de l'autel; avec le sang de la victime expiatoire, il y sera fait des expiations une fois chaque année parmi vos descendants. Ce sera une chose très sainte devant l'Éternel.

11 L'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:

12 Lorsque tu compteras les enfants d'Israël pour en faire le dénombrement, chacun d'eux paiera à l'Éternel le rachat de sa personne, afin qu'ils ne soient frappés d'aucune plaie lors de ce dénombrement.

13 Voici ce que donneront tous ceux qui seront compris dans le dénombrement: un demi-sicle, selon le sicle du sanctuaire, qui est de vingt guéras; un demi-sicle sera le don prélevé pour l'Éternel.

14 Tout homme compris dans le dénombrement, depuis l'âge de vingt ans et au-dessus, paiera le don prélevé pour l'Éternel.

15 Le riche ne paiera pas plus, et le pauvre ne paiera pas moins d'un demi-sicle, comme don prélevé pour l'Éternel, afin de racheter leurs personnes.

16 Tu recevras des enfants d'Israël l'argent du rachat, et tu l'appliqueras au travail de la tente d'assignation; ce sera pour les enfants d'Israël un souvenir devant l'Éternel pour le rachat de leurs personnes.

17 L'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:

18 Tu feras une cuve d'airain, avec sa base d'airain, pour les ablutions; tu la placeras entre la tente d'assignation et l'autel, et tu y mettras de l'eau,

19 avec laquelle Aaron et ses fils se laveront les mains et les pieds.

20 Lorsqu'ils entreront dans la tente d'assignation, ils se laveront avec cette eau, afin qu'ils ne meurent point; et aussi lorsqu'ils s'approcheront de l'autel, pour faire le service et pour offrir des sacrifices à l'Éternel.

21 Ils se laveront les mains et les pieds, afin qu'ils ne meurent point. Ce sera une loi perpétuelle pour Aaron, pour ses fils et pour leurs descendants.

22 L'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:

23 Prends des meilleurs aromates, cinq cents sicles de myrrhe, de celle qui coule d'elle-même; la moitié, soit deux cent cinquante sicles, de cinnamome aromatique, deux cent cinquante sicles de roseau aromatique,

24 cinq cents sicles de casse, selon le sicle du sanctuaire, et un hin d'huile d'olive.

25 Tu feras avec cela une huile pour l'onction sainte, composition de parfums selon l'art du parfumeur; ce sera l'huile pour l'onction sainte.

26 Tu en oindras la tente d'assignation et l'arche du témoignage,

27 la table et tous ses ustensiles, le chandelier et ses ustensiles, l'autel des parfums,

28 l'autel des holocaustes et tous ses ustensiles, la cuve avec sa base.

29 Tu sanctifieras ces choses, et elles seront très saintes, tout ce qui les touchera sera sanctifié.

30 Tu oindras Aaron et ses fils, et tu les sanctifieras, pour qu'ils soient à mon service dans le sacerdoce.

31 Tu parleras aux enfants d'Israël, et tu diras: Ce sera pour moi l'huile de l'onction sainte, parmi vos descendants.

32 On n'en répandra point sur le corps d'un homme, et vous n'en ferez point de semblable, dans les mêmes proportions; elle est sainte, et vous la regarderez comme sainte.

33 Quiconque en composera de semblable, ou en mettra sur un étranger, sera retranché de son peuple.

34 L'Éternel dit à Moïse: Prends des aromates, du stacté, de l'ongle odorant, du galbanum, et de l'encens pur, en parties égales.

35 Tu feras avec cela un parfum composé selon l'art du parfumeur; il sera salé, pur et saint.

36 Tu le réduiras en poudre, et tu le mettras devant le témoignage, dans la tente d'assignation, où je me rencontrerai avec toi. Ce sera pour vous une chose très sainte.

37 Vous ne ferez point pour vous de parfum semblable, dans les mêmes proportions; vous le regarderez comme saint, et réservé pour l'Éternel.

38 Quiconque en fera de semblable, pour le sentir, sera retranché de son peuple.

Instructions for the incense altar

30 Make an acacia-wood altar for burning incense. 2 The altar should be square, eighteen inches long and eighteen inches wide. It should be three feet high. Its horns should be permanently attached. 3 Cover the altar with pure gold, including its top, all its sides, and its horns. You should also make a gold molding all around it. 4 Make two gold rings and attach them under the molding on two opposite sides of the altar. They will house the poles used to carry the altar. 5 Make acacia-wood poles and cover them with gold. 6 Place the incense altar in front of the veil that hangs before the chest containing the covenant, in front of the cover that is on top of the covenant document where I will meet with you. 7 Aaron will burn sweet-smelling incense on the incense altar every morning when he takes care of the lamps. 8 And again when Aaron lights the lamps at twilight, he will burn incense. It should be a regular incense offering in the Lord’s presence in every generation. 9 Don’t offer the wrong incense on the altar or an entirely burned offering or a grain offering. Don’t pour a drink offering on it. 10 Once a year Aaron should perform a ritual of reconciliation on its horns with the blood of the purification offering for reconciliation. Once a year in every generation he should perform a ritual of reconciliation at the altar. It is most holy to the Lord.

Census and compensation

11 The Lord spoke to Moses: 12 When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each of them should pay compensation for their life to the Lord when they are counted. Then no plague will descend on them when they are counted. 13 Every one who is counted should pay a half shekel according to the official shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel is twenty gerahs). The half shekel is a gift offering to the Lord. 14 Every one who is counted, from 20 years old and above, should present a gift offering to the Lord. 15 When you bring this gift offering to the Lord to pay compensation for your lives, the rich shouldn’t give more and the poor shouldn’t give less than the half shekel. 16 Take the compensation money from the Israelites and use it to support the service of the meeting tent. It will serve for the Israelites as a reminder in the Lord’s presence of the compensation paid for your lives.

Instructions for the washbasin

17 The Lord spoke to Moses: 18 Make a copper basin for washing along with its copper stand. Put it between the meeting tent and the altar, and put water in it. 19 Aaron and his sons will use it to wash their hands and their feet. 20 When they go into the meeting tent or approach the altar to minister and to offer a food gift to the Lord, they must wash with water so that they don’t die. 21 They must wash their hands and their feet so that they don’t die. This will be a permanent regulation for them, for Aaron and his descendants in every generation.

Instructions for oil and incense

22 The Lord spoke to Moses: 23 Now take for yourself high-quality spices: five hundred weight of solid myrrh; half as much of sweet-smelling cinnamon, that is, two hundred fifty; two hundred fifty weight of sweet-smelling cane; 24 five hundred of cassia—measured by the sanctuary shekel—and a hin[a] of olive oil. 25 Prepare a holy anointing oil, blending them like a skilled perfume maker to produce the holy anointing oil. 26 Use it to anoint the meeting tent, the chest containing the covenant, 27 the table and all its equipment, the lampstand and its equipment, the incense altar, 28 the altar for entirely burned offerings and all its equipment, and the washbasin with its stand. 29 Make them holy so that they may be perfectly holy. Whatever touches them will become holy. 30 Then anoint Aaron and his sons and make them holy to serve me as priests. 31 Say to the Israelites: This will be my holy anointing oil in every generation. 32 Don’t allow anyone else to use this oil. Don’t make another oil like it by using the same formula. This oil is holy, and you should regard it as holy. 33 Whoever blends an oil like it or whoever uses the oil on someone else will be cut off from the people.

34 The Lord said to Moses: Take an equal amount of each of these spices: gum resin, onycha, galbanum, and pure frankincense. 35 Like a skilled perfume maker, carefully blend them together and make incense, seasoned with salt, pure and holy. 36 Beat some of it into a fine powder and put part of it in front of the covenant document in the meeting tent where I will meet with you. You should regard it as perfectly holy. 37 When you make incense according to this formula, you shouldn’t make any of it for your own use. You should regard it as holy to the Lord. 38 Whoever makes incense with this same formula to enjoy its fragrance will be cut off from the people.

The Altar of Incense(A)

30 “Make an altar(B) of acacia wood for burning incense.(C) 2 It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high[a]—its horns(D) of one piece with it. 3 Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold molding around it.(E) 4 Make two gold rings(F) for the altar below the molding—two on each of the opposite sides—to hold the poles used to carry it. 5 Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.(G) 6 Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law—before the atonement cover(H) that is over the tablets of the covenant law—where I will meet with you.

7 “Aaron must burn fragrant incense(I) on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps. 8 He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the Lord for the generations to come.(J) 9 Do not offer on this altar any other incense(K) or any burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it. 10 Once a year(L) Aaron shall make atonement(M) on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering[b](N) for the generations to come.(O) It is most holy to the Lord.”

Atonement Money

11 Then the Lord said to Moses, 12 “When you take a census(P) of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the Lord a ransom(Q) for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague(R) will come on them when you number them. 13 Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel,[c] according to the sanctuary shekel,(S) which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the Lord. 14 All who cross over, those twenty years old or more,(T) are to give an offering to the Lord. 15 The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less(U) when you make the offering to the Lord to atone for your lives. 16 Receive the atonement(V) money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the tent of meeting.(W) It will be a memorial(X) for the Israelites before the Lord, making atonement for your lives.”

Basin for Washing

17 Then the Lord said to Moses, 18 “Make a bronze basin,(Y) with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 19 Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet(Z) with water(AA) from it. 20 Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die.(AB) Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord, 21 they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance(AC) for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”(AD)

Anointing Oil

22 Then the Lord said to Moses, 23 “Take the following fine spices:(AE) 500 shekels[d] of liquid myrrh,(AF) half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon,(AG) 250 shekels[e] of fragrant calamus,(AH) 24 500 shekels(AI) of cassia(AJ)—all according to the sanctuary shekel—and a hin[f] of olive oil. 25 Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer.(AK) It will be the sacred anointing oil.(AL) 26 Then use it to anoint(AM) the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law, 27 the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, 28 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand. 29 You shall consecrate them(AN) so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy.(AO)

30 “Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate(AP) them so they may serve me as priests.(AQ) 31 Say to the Israelites, ‘This is to be my sacred anointing oil(AR) for the generations to come.(AS) 32 Do not pour it on anyone else’s body and do not make any other oil using the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred.(AT) 33 Whoever makes perfume like it and puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off(AU) from their people.’”

Incense

34 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Take fragrant spices(AV)—gum resin, onycha and galbanum—and pure frankincense, all in equal amounts, 35 and make a fragrant blend of incense,(AW) the work of a perfumer.(AX) It is to be salted and pure and sacred. 36 Grind some of it to powder and place it in front of the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, where I will meet(AY) with you. It shall be most holy(AZ) to you. 37 Do not make any incense with this formula for yourselves; consider it holy(BA) to the Lord. 38 Whoever makes incense like it to enjoy its fragrance must be cut off(BB) from their people.”
