13 (A)Пророчество за Вавилон, което Исаия, син на Амоц, видя във видение.
2 Издигнете знаме на гола планина, извисете висок глас към тях, помахайте с ръка да влязат през портите на благородниците. 3 Аз заповядах на посветените Си, призовах храбреците Си, които тържествуват заради Моето величие, да изпълнят гневния Ми съд.
4 Шумен вик е по планините, подобен на множество народ, на вълнение на събрани заедно от царства и народи. Господ Вседържител преглежда готовата за бой войска. 5 Те идват от далечна земя, от хоризонта – Господ и оръдията на негодуванието Му, – за да опустошат целия свят.
6 (B)Ридайте, защото денят Господен наближи и идва като разрушителна сила от Всемогъщия. 7 Затова всички ръце ще отслабнат и сърцата на всички хора ще се стопят. 8 (C)Ще се ужасят, спазми и скърби ще ги обхванат, ще се мъчат като жена, когато ражда. Ще се гледат един друг втренчено, лицата им ще пламтят. 9 Ето денят Господен идва страшен, лют, с негодувание и пламенен гняв, за да обърне света в пустиня и да изтреби грешниците му. 10 (D)Защото небесните звезди и техните съзвездия няма да дават своята светлина; слънцето ще помръкне, когато изгрява, луната няма да сияе със светлината си. 11 И ще накажа света за неговото зло и нечестивите за беззаконията им, и ще сложа край на високомерието на горделивите, и ще унижа надменните злодеи. 12 Ще направя така, че човекът да бъде по-скъп от чисто злато, по-скъп от офирско злато. 13 Затова ще разтърся небесата и земята ще се разлюлее из основи поради гнева на Господ Вседържител в деня на пламенната Му ярост.
14 И всеки ще бъде като подгонена сърна и като стадо овце, които никой не събира. Така всеки ще бяга при своя народ и всеки към земята си. 15 Всеки, който бъде намерен, ще бъде пронизан и всеки заловен ще падне от меч. 16 Децата им ще бъдат смазани пред очите им. Техните къщи ще бъдат оплячкосани, а жените им обезчестени.
17 (E)Ето Аз ще подбудя срещу тях мидяните, за които среброто е нищо, а златото не им допада. 18 Но с лъковете си ще смажат младежите и няма да се смилят над плода на утробата. Окото им няма да пощади децата. 19 (F)(G)И Вавилон, красота на царствата, гордост на халдеите, ще бъде разрушен от Бога, както Бог разруши Содом и Гомора. 20 (H)Няма да бъде заселен и няма да бъде обитаван непрекъснато. A Prophecy Against Babylon
13 A prophecy(A) against Babylon(B) that Isaiah son of Amoz(C) saw:(D)
2 Raise a banner(E) on a bare hilltop,
shout to them;
beckon to them
to enter the gates(F) of the nobles.
3 I have commanded those I prepared for battle;
I have summoned my warriors(G) to carry out my wrath(H)—
those who rejoice(I) in my triumph.
4 Listen, a noise on the mountains,
like that of a great multitude!(J)
Listen, an uproar(K) among the kingdoms,
like nations massing together!
The Lord Almighty(L) is mustering(M)
an army for war.
5 They come from faraway lands,
from the ends of the heavens(N)—
the Lord and the weapons(O) of his wrath(P)—
to destroy(Q) the whole country.
6 Wail,(R) for the day(S) of the Lord is near;
it will come like destruction(T) from the Almighty.[a](U)
7 Because of this, all hands will go limp,(V)
every heart will melt with fear.(W)
8 Terror(X) will seize them,
pain and anguish will grip(Y) them;
they will writhe like a woman in labor.(Z)
They will look aghast at each other,
their faces aflame.(AA)
9 See, the day(AB) of the Lord is coming
—a cruel(AC) day, with wrath(AD) and fierce anger(AE)—
to make the land desolate
and destroy the sinners within it.
10 The stars of heaven and their constellations
will not show their light.(AF)
The rising sun(AG) will be darkened(AH)
and the moon will not give its light.(AI)
11 I will punish(AJ) the world for its evil,
the wicked(AK) for their sins.
I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty(AL)
and will humble(AM) the pride of the ruthless.(AN)
12 I will make people(AO) scarcer than pure gold,
more rare than the gold of Ophir.(AP)
13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble;(AQ)
and the earth will shake(AR) from its place
at the wrath(AS) of the Lord Almighty,
in the day of his burning anger.(AT)
14 Like a hunted(AU) gazelle,
like sheep without a shepherd,(AV)
they will all return to their own people,
they will flee(AW) to their native land.(AX)
15 Whoever is captured will be thrust through;
all who are caught will fall(AY) by the sword.(AZ)
16 Their infants(BA) will be dashed to pieces before their eyes;
their houses will be looted and their wives violated.(BB)
17 See, I will stir up(BC) against them the Medes,(BD)
who do not care for silver
and have no delight in gold.(BE)
18 Their bows(BF) will strike down the young men;(BG)
they will have no mercy(BH) on infants,
nor will they look with compassion on children.(BI)
19 Babylon,(BJ) the jewel of kingdoms,(BK)
the pride and glory(BL) of the Babylonians,[b]
will be overthrown(BM) by God
like Sodom and Gomorrah.(BN)
20 She will never be inhabited(BO)
or lived in through all generations;
there no nomads(BP) will pitch their tents,
there no shepherds will rest their flocks.
21 But desert creatures(BQ) will lie there,
jackals(BR) will fill her houses;
there the owls(BS) will dwell,
and there the wild goats(BT) will leap about.
22 Hyenas(BU) will inhabit her strongholds,(BV)
jackals(BW) her luxurious palaces.
Her time is at hand,(BX)
and her days will not be prolonged.(BY)

2 «¡Alcen en un monte pelado la señal de combate!
¡Den la orden de ataque a los soldados!
¡Levanten la mano para que avancen
por las puertas de los nobles!
3 Ya he llamado a mis valientes,
he dado órdenes a mis guerreros consagrados,
a los que se alegran por mi triunfo,
para que ejecuten mi castigo.»
4 Se oye un griterío en los montes,
como de mucha gente.
Se oye el rugir de las naciones,
de los pueblos que se han reunido.
El Señor todopoderoso pasa revista
a sus tropas dispuestas para la batalla.
5 Vienen de un país lejano,
de más allá del horizonte.
Es el Señor con los instrumentos de su ira,
que viene a destruir toda la tierra.
6 Den alaridos, porque el día del Señor está cerca,
llega como un golpe del Todopoderoso.
7 Entonces todo el mundo dejará caer los brazos,
todos perderán el valor
8 y quedarán aterrados.
Les vendrá una angustia y un dolor tan grandes
que se retorcerán como mujer de parto.
Unos a otros se mirarán asombrados
y les arderá la cara de vergüenza.
9 Ya llega el día del Señor,
día terrible, de ira y furor ardiente,
que convertirá la tierra en desierto
y acabará con los pecadores que hay en ella.
10 Las estrellas y constelaciones del cielo
dejarán de dar su luz;
el sol se oscurecerá apenas salga,
y la luna no brillará.
11 El Señor dice:
«Voy a castigar al mundo por su maldad,
a los malvados por sus crímenes.
Voy a terminar con la altanería de los orgullosos,
voy a humillar a los soberbios e insolentes.
12 Voy a hacer que los hombres sean
más escasos que el oro fino de Ofir.
13 Entonces el cielo se estremecerá
y la tierra se moverá de su sitio
por la ira que tendré en ese día,
por mi ardiente furor.
14 »La gente parecerá gacela perseguida,
o un rebaño cuando se dispersa
y no hay nadie que lo junte.
Cada uno se volverá a su propio país,
huirá a su propia tierra.
15 Todo el que se deje encontrar será apuñalado,
todo el que se deje agarrar caerá asesinado.
16 Ante sus propios ojos
estrellarán contra el suelo a sus hijos pequeños;
sus casas serán saqueadas
y violadas sus esposas.
17 Voy a incitar contra ellos al pueblo de los medos,
gente que no se preocupa por la plata
y a la que el oro no le llama la atención.
18 Con sus flechas derribarán a los jóvenes.
No tienen compasión de los recién nacidos, ni sienten lástima por los niños.
19 Y Babilonia, la perla de las naciones,
joya y orgullo de los caldeos,
quedará como Sodoma y Gomorra,
cuando yo las destruí.
20 Nunca más volverá a ser habitada,
nadie volverá a vivir jamás en ella.
Los árabes no volverán a acampar allí,
ni los pastores harán que allí descansen sus rebaños.
21 Allí habitarán los gatos monteses,
las lechuzas llenarán las casas,
los avestruces vivirán en ella,
y también retozarán los chivos.
22 Los chacales aullarán en los castillos,
y en los lujosos palacios habrá lobos.
Ya se le acerca su hora a Babilonia;
no le quedan muchos días.»
