Joshua 18:3-5

³Then Joshua said to the children of Israel: ^(A)“How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers has given you? ⁴Pick out from among you three men for each tribe, and I will send them; they shall rise and go through the land, survey it according to their inheritance, and come back to me. ⁵And they shall divide it into seven parts. ^(B)Judah shall remain in their territory on the south, and the ^(C)house of Joseph shall remain in their territory on the north.

³So Joshua said to the Israelites: “How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you? ⁴Appoint three men from each tribe. I will send them out to make a survey of the land and to write a description of it,^(A) according to the inheritance of each.^(B) Then they will return to me. ⁵You are to divide the land into seven parts. Judah is to remain in its territory on the south^(C) and the tribes of Joseph in their territory on the north.^(D)

They shall write a description of it with a view to their inheritances, and then come to me. ⁵They shall divide it into seven portions. ^(B)Judah shall continue in his territory on the south, ^(C)and the house of Joseph shall continue in their territory on the north.
