2 Войско вавилонского царя осаждало Иерусалим, а пророк Иеремия был заключён в темницу при дворце царя Иудеи.
3 Цедекия, царь Иудеи, заключил его там, сказав:
– Почему ты так пророчествуешь? Ты говоришь: «Так говорит Вечный: Я отдам этот город царю Вавилона, и он захватит его. 4 Цедекия, царь Иудеи, не спасётся от рук вавилонян; его непременно отдадут царю Вавилона, и он увидит его собственными глазами и будет разговаривать с ним лицом к лицу.

New International Version
2 The army of the king of Babylon was then besieging(A) Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was confined(B) in the courtyard of the guard(C) in the royal palace of Judah.
3 Now Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him there, saying, “Why do you prophesy(D) as you do? You say, ‘This is what the Lord says: I am about to give this city into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will capture(E) it. 4 Zedekiah(F) king of Judah will not escape(G) the Babylonians[a](H) but will certainly be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him with his own eyes.
