2 Я снова поднял глаза и увидел: передо мной муж с землемерной нитью в руке. 2 Я спросил:
– Куда ты идешь?
Он ответил мне:
– Измерить Иерусалим, чтобы узнать его ширину и длину.
3 Затем Ангел, говоривший со мной, двинулся вперед, а навстречу Ему вышел другой ангел, 4 и тогда первый Ангел сказал второму:
– Беги, скажи тому юноше[a]: «Иерусалим будет городом без стен из-за множества жителей и скота. 5 Я Сам буду огненной стеной вокруг него, – возвещает Господь, – и славой внутри него».
6 – Вперед! Вперед! Бегите из северной земли, – возвещает Господь, – ведь по четырем небесным ветрам Я вас развеял, – возвещает Господь. – 7 Вперед! Спасайся, Сион, живущий у дочери Вавилона!
8 Ведь так сказал Господь Сил:
– Он прославил Меня и послал[b] на народы, которые вас обирали, потому что, кто прикасается к вам, тот касается зеницы Моего ока[c]. 9 Я подниму на них руку, и они станут добычей своих рабов. Тогда вы узнаете, что Господь Сил послал Меня. 10 Кричи от радости и ликуй, дочь Сиона. Ведь Я приду и буду жить у тебя, – возвещает Господь. – 11 Многие народы примкнут к Господу в тот день и станут Моим народом. Я буду жить у тебя, и ты узнаешь, что Господь Сил послал Меня к тебе. 12 Господь примет Иудею как Свой удел в святой земле и снова изберет Иерусалим.
13 Умолкни перед Господом, человеческий род, потому что Он поднялся из Своего святого жилища.

Zechariah 2
Living Bible
2 When I looked around me again, I saw a man carrying a yardstick in his hand.
2 “Where are you going?” I asked.
“To measure Jerusalem,” he said. “I want to see whether it is big enough for all the people!”
3 Then the angel who was talking to me went over to meet another angel coming toward him.
4 “Go tell this young man,” said the other angel, “that Jerusalem will some day be so full of people that she won’t have room enough for all! Many will live outside the city walls, with all their many cattle—and yet they will be safe. 5 For the Lord himself will be a wall of fire protecting them and all Jerusalem; he will be the glory of the city.
6-7 “Come, flee from the land of the north, from Babylon,” says the Lord to all his exiles there; “I scattered you to the winds, but I will bring you back again. Escape, escape to Zion now!” says the Lord.
8 “The Lord of Glory has sent me[a] against the nations that oppressed you, for he who harms you sticks his finger in Jehovah’s eye!
9 “I will smash them with my fist and their slaves will be their rulers! Then you will know it was the Lord Almighty who sent me. 10 Sing, Jerusalem, and rejoice! For I have come to live among you,” says the Lord. 11-12 “At that time many nations will be converted to the Lord, and they too shall be my people; I will live among them all. Then you will know it was the Lord Almighty who sent me to you. And Judah shall be the Lord’s inheritance in the Holy Land, for God shall once more choose to bless Jerusalem.
13 “Be silent, all mankind, before the Lord, for he has come to earth from heaven, from his holy home.”

2 [a]Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man with a (A)measuring line in his hand. 2 So I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To (B)measure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long it is.” 3 And behold, the (C)angel who was speaking with me was going out, and another angel was coming out to meet him, 4 and said to him, “Run, speak to that (D)young man, saying, ‘(E)Jerusalem will be inhabited [b](F)without walls because of the (G)multitude of men and cattle within it. 5 For I,’ declares the Lord, ‘will be a (H)wall of fire [c]around her, and I will be the (I)glory in her midst.’”
6 “[d]Ho there! (J)Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord, “for I have (K)dispersed you as the four winds of the heavens,” declares the Lord. 7 “Ho, Zion! (L)Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.” 8 For thus says the Lord of hosts, “After [e](M)glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the [f](N)apple of His eye. 9 For behold, I will (O)wave My hand over them so that they will be (P)plunder for their slaves. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me. 10 (Q)Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will (R)dwell in your midst,” declares the Lord. 11 “(S)Many nations will join themselves to the Lord in that day and will become My people. Then I will (T)dwell in your midst, and you will (U)know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you. 12 The Lord will [g](V)possess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again (W)choose Jerusalem.
13 “[h](X)Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord; for He is (Y)aroused from His holy habitation.”
