29 Ето думите на писмото, което пророк Еремия изпрати от Ерусалим до останалите старейшини на пленниците, до свещениците, до пророците, и до всичките люде, които Навуходоносор бе закарал в плен от Ерусалим във Вавилон,
2 (след като цар Иехония, овдовялата царица, скопците, Юдовите и Ерусалимските първенци, художниците и ковачите бяха излезли от Ерусалим),
3 чрез ръката на Еласа Сафановия син, и на Гемария Хелкиевия син, (когото Юдовият цар Седекия изпрати на вавилонския цар Навуходоносора), в което писмо казваше:
4 Така казва Господ на Силите, Израилевият Бог, на всичките пленници, които Аз съм направил да бъдат закарани пленници от Ерусалим във Вавилон:
5 Постройте къщи и живейте в тях, насадете градини и яжте плода им,
6 вземете жени и народете синове и дъщери, вземете жени за синовете си и дайте дъщерите си на мъже, за да народят синове и дъщери, и умножавайте се там, и не се намалявайте,
7 търсете мира на града, гдето ви направих да бъдете закарани пленници, и молете се за него Господу; понеже в неговия мир ще имате и вие мир.
8 Защото така казва Господ на Силите, Израилевият Бог: Да ви не мамят пророците ви и чародеите ви, които са всред вас, и недейте слуша сънищата си, които вие давате причина да ги сънувате.
9 Защото те ви пророкуват лъжливо в Мое име; Аз не съм ги пратил, казва Господ.
10 Защото така казва Господ: Като се изпълнят седемдесет години във Вавилон, Аз ще ви посетя и ще изпълня благото Си слово към вас, като ви върна в това място.
11 Защото аз зная мислите, които мисля за вас, казва Господ, мисли за мир, а не за зло, за да ви дам бъдеще и надежда.
12 Тогава ще извикате към Мене, и ще отидете та ще Ми се помолите; и аз ще ви послушам.

14 И вие ще ме намерите, казва Господ; и ще ви върна от плен, и ще ви събера от всичките народи и от всичките места, гдето ви бях изпъдил, казва Господ; и ще ви върна на мястото от гдето ви направих да бъдете закарани пленници.
15 Понеже рекохте: Господ ни е въздигнал пророци във Вавилон,
16 то знайте, че така говори Господ за царя, който седи на Давидовия престол, и за всичките люде, които населяват тоя град, братята ви, които не излязоха с вас в плен, -
17 така казва Господ на Силите: Ето, ще изпратя върху тях нож, глад, и мор, и ще ги направя като непотребни смокини, които поради лошавината си не се ядат.
18 И ще ги преследвам с нож, с глад, и с мор; и ще ги предам да бъдат тласкани по всичките царства на света, да бъдат за проклетия, за учудване, за подсвиркване, и за укор между всичките народи гдето съм ги изпъдил;
19 защото не са послушали Моите думи, казва Господ, които им пратих чрез слугите Си пророците, като ставах рано и ги пращах; но вие не искахте да слушате, казва Господ.
20 Послушайте, прочее, Господното слово, всички вие пленени, които изпратих от Ерусалим във Вавилон.
21 Така казва Господ на Силите, Израилевият Бог, за Ахаава, Колаиевия син и за Седекия, Маасиевия син, които ви пророкуват лъжа в моето име: Ето, ще ги предам в ръката на вавилонския цар Навуходоносора, който ще ги порази пред очите ви;
22 и с тях всичките Юдови пленници, които са във Вавилон, ще вземат да проклинат, казвайки: Господ да те направи като Седекия и като Ахаава, които вавилонският цар опече на огън;
23 защото те извършиха нечестие в Израил, прелюбодействуваха с жените на ближните си, и в Мое име говореха лъжливи думи, които не съм им заповядал. Но Аз зная и съм свидетел, казва Господ.
24 Също и на нехеламеца Семаия да говориш, думайки:
25 Така говори Господ на силите, Израилевият Бог, като казва: Понеже си пратил писма в своето си име до всичките люде, които са в Ерусалим, и до свещеник Софония, Маасиевия син, и до всичките свещеници, в които си казал:
26 Господ те е поставил свещеник вместо свещеника Иодая, за да си надзирател в Господния дом над всеки човек, който като лудува се прави на пророк, за да го турят в клада и в окови.
27 Сега, прочее, защо не си смъмрил анатотеца Еремия, който ви се прави на пророк,
28 тъй като е пратил до нас във Вавилон да каже: Това пленение ще бъде дълго; постройте си къщи и живейте в тях, и насадете градини, и яжте плода им?

32 затова, така казва Господ: Ето, ще накажа нехеламеца Семаия и потомството му; той не ще има човек, който да живее между тия люде, нито ще види доброто, което Аз ще направя на людете Си, казва Господ; понеже е проповядвал бунт против Господа.

2 Se te apre yo te fin pran wa Jekonya, manman li, gwo zotobre nan palè a, chèf peyi Jida ak chèf lavil Jerizalèm yo, atizan yo, bòs fòjon yo pou depòte yo.
3 Jeremi renmèt lèt la nan men de moun Sedesyas, wa peyi Jida a, t'ap voye bò kote Nèbikadneza, wa Babilòn lan. Se te Elasa, pitit Chafan ak Gemarya, pitit Ilkija. Jeremi voye di yo nan lèt la:
4 -Men mesaj Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, voye pou tout moun li te fè yo pran lavil Jerizalèm pou depòte jouk lavil Babilòn.
5 Nou mèt bati kay pou nou rete, nou mèt plante jaden pou nou manje.
6 Marye, fè pitit. Marye pitit gason nou yo, marye pitit fi nou yo pou yo ka fè pitit. Kote nou ye laba a, peple. Pa kite nou fin mouri.
7 Travay pou fè peyi kote Seyè a fè yo depòte nou an wè zafè l' mache byen. Lapriyè Seyè a pou yo. Paske, si sa bon pou yo la bon pou nou tou.
8 ¶ Wi, men avètisman Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, voye ban nou: Pa kite pwofèt ki nan mitan nou yo ak divinò yo ban nou manti! Pa koute moun k'ap rakonte rèv yo fè.
9 Se pou yo ka twonpe nou pi byen kifè yo pran non m' mete devan. Se pa mwen ki voye yo. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
10 Seyè a di ankò: Lè lavil Babilòn lan va rive sou swasanndizan depi li kanpe a, m'a vin vizite nou, m'a fè kichòy pou nou. M'a kenbe bèl pwomès mwen te fè nou an, m'a fè nou tounen lakay nou ankò.
11 Se mwen ki konnen sa m' gen nan tèt mwen pou nou. Se mwen menm Seyè a k'ap pale. Se byen nou mwen ta vle wè, pa malè nou. Mwen ta vle denmen nou jwenn sa n'ap tann lan.
12 Lè sa a, n'a rele m', n'a vin lapriyè nan pye m', m'a reponn nou.
13 N'a chache m', n'a jwenn mwen paske n'a chache m' ak tout kè nou.
14 Wi, m'a kite nou jwenn mwen. Se mwen menm ki di sa. M'a fè peyi nou an kanpe ankò. M'ap pase men m' ranmase nou nan tout peyi toupatou kote m' te gaye nou yo. M'ap mennen nou tounen kote m' te pran nou pou m' te depòte nou an. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
15 ¶ Seyè a voye di nou sa paske nou pretann di li voye pwofèt ban nou lavil Babilòn.
16 Enben, men sa Seyè a di sou wa ki chita sou fotèy wa David la, sou pèp lavil Jerizalèm la, ki vle di rès fanmi yo pa t' depòte ansanm ak nou yo.
17 Wi. Men sa Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a di: Mwen pral voye lagè, grangou ak move maladi sou yo. M'ap fè yo tounen tankou vye fig pouri moun pa ka manje.
18 M'ap rete la dèyè yo ak lagè, grangou, move maladi. Tout nasyon sou latè pral sezi lè y'a wè sa ki rive yo. Nan tout peyi kote mwen pral gaye yo, moun pral fè sezisman, y'ap mete men nan tèt lè y'a wè yo. Y'a pran non yo pou sèvi jouman, pou bay moun madichon.
19 Tou sa va rive yo paske yo pa t' vle koute sa m' t'ap di yo. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa. Malgre mwen pa t' sispann voye pwofèt yo, sèvitè m' yo, ba yo, yo pa janm vle koute.
20 Men, nou menm Seyè a te pran lavil Jerizalèm pou l' depòte lavil Babilòn, manyè koute sa Seyè a ap di nou!
21 Men mesaj Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, bay sou Akab, pitit Kolaja, ansanm ak Sedesyas, pitit Maseja, ki t'ap pran non Seyè a pou bay manti. Mwen pral lage yo nan men Nèbikadneza, wa Babilòn lan, ki pral fè touye yo la devan nou tout.
22 Apre sa, lè moun peyi Jida yo te depòte lavil Babilòn yo va bezwen bay moun madichon y'a sèvi ak non mesye sa yo. Y'a di: Se pou Seyè a fè ou sa l' te fè Sedesyas ansanm ak Akab wa Babilòn lan te fè boule tou vivan.
23 Se sa k'ap rive yo, paske yo te yon gwo wont pou pèp Izrayèl la. Yo fè adiltè ak madanm jwif parèy yo, lèfini y'ap pran non mwen pou bay manti, pou bay mesaj mwen pa t' mete nan bouch yo. Mwen konnen sa yo fè, mwen te wè yo ak je m'. Se Seyè a menm ki di sa.
24 ¶ Seyè a te bay pwofèt Jeremi yon mesaj pou Chemaja, moun Nekelam,
25 paske Chemaja te pran reskonsablite voye yon lèt bay yon prèt yo te rele Sefanya, pitit Maseja, pou tout lòt prèt yo ansanm ak tout moun lavil Jerizalèm yo. Chemaja te voye di yo:
26 -Seyè a te fè ou prèt nan plas Jeojada pou veye sa k'ap pase nan tanp lan. Se devwa ou pou ou pran tout moun fou k'ap pran pòz pwofèt yo pou mete yo nan chenn ak yon kolye fè nan kou yo.
27 Poukisa ou pa fè anyen ak Jeremi, nonm Anatòt la, k'ap pran pòz pwofèt li nan mitan pèp la?
28 Men koulye a li ekri nou isit lavil Babilòn, li voye di nou n'ap rete lontan nan sitiyasyon sa a. Nou mèt bati kay pou nou rete, nou mèt plante jaden pou nou ka manje.
29 Sefanya, prèt la, te li lèt la bay pwofèt Jeremi.
30 Lè sa a, Seyè a bay Jeremi lòd sa a:
31 -Voye mesaj sa a bay tout moun yo depòte lavil Babilòn yo. Men sa Seyè a di sou Chemaja, moun Nekelam. Chemaja pran pòz pwofèt li, men se pa mwen ki voye l'. Li fè nou bwè yon bann manti.
32 Se poutèt sa, mwen menm Seyè a, mwen pral pini Chemaya ansanm ak tout kòt fanmi li. Mwen p'ap kite yon moun nan fanmi li vivan nan mitan nou pou wè bèl bagay mwen pral fè pou pèp mwen an, paske li te moute tèt pèp la kont Bondye, Seyè a.

A Letter to the Exiles
29 This is the text of the letter(A) that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets and all the other people Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.(B) 2 (This was after King Jehoiachin[a](C) and the queen mother,(D) the court officials and the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the skilled workers and the artisans had gone into exile from Jerusalem.) 3 He entrusted the letter to Elasah son of Shaphan and to Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. It said:
4 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried(E) into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: 5 “Build(F) houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. 6 Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease.(G) 7 Also, seek(H) the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray(I) to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” 8 Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let the prophets(J) and diviners among you deceive(K) you. Do not listen to the dreams(L) you encourage them to have.(M) 9 They are prophesying lies(N) to you in my name. I have not sent(O) them,” declares the Lord.
10 This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years(P) are completed for Babylon, I will come to you(Q) and fulfill my good promise(R) to bring you back(S) to this place. 11 For I know the plans(T) I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper(U) you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.(V) 12 Then you will call(W) on me and come and pray(X) to me, and I will listen(Y) to you. 13 You will seek(Z) me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.(AA) 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back(AB) from captivity.[b] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”(AC)
15 You may say, “The Lord has raised up prophets for us in Babylon,” 16 but this is what the Lord says about the king who sits on David’s throne and all the people who remain in this city, your fellow citizens who did not go with you into exile— 17 yes, this is what the Lord Almighty says: “I will send the sword, famine and plague(AD) against them and I will make them like figs(AE) that are so bad they cannot be eaten. 18 I will pursue them with the sword, famine and plague and will make them abhorrent(AF) to all the kingdoms of the earth, a curse[c](AG) and an object of horror,(AH) of scorn(AI) and reproach, among all the nations where I drive them. 19 For they have not listened to my words,”(AJ) declares the Lord, “words that I sent to them again and again(AK) by my servants the prophets.(AL) And you exiles have not listened either,” declares the Lord.
20 Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, all you exiles whom I have sent(AM) away from Jerusalem to Babylon. 21 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says about Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying lies(AN) to you in my name: “I will deliver them into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will put them to death before your very eyes. 22 Because of them, all the exiles from Judah who are in Babylon will use this curse: ‘May the Lord treat you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon burned(AO) in the fire.’ 23 For they have done outrageous things in Israel; they have committed adultery(AP) with their neighbors’ wives, and in my name they have uttered lies—which I did not authorize. I know(AQ) it and am a witness(AR) to it,” declares the Lord.
Message to Shemaiah
24 Tell Shemaiah the Nehelamite, 25 “This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: You sent letters in your own name to all the people in Jerusalem, to the priest Zephaniah(AS) son of Maaseiah, and to all the other priests. You said to Zephaniah, 26 ‘The Lord has appointed you priest in place of Jehoiada to be in charge of the house of the Lord; you should put any maniac(AT) who acts like a prophet into the stocks(AU) and neck-irons. 27 So why have you not reprimanded Jeremiah from Anathoth, who poses as a prophet among you? 28 He has sent this message(AV) to us in Babylon: It will be a long time.(AW) Therefore build(AX) houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.’”
29 Zephaniah(AY) the priest, however, read the letter to Jeremiah the prophet. 30 Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 31 “Send this message to all the exiles: ‘This is what the Lord says about Shemaiah(AZ) the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, even though I did not send(BA) him, and has persuaded you to trust in lies, 32 this is what the Lord says: I will surely punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants.(BB) He will have no one left among this people, nor will he see the good(BC) things I will do for my people, declares the Lord, because he has preached rebellion(BD) against me.’”
