1 На тридцатом году моей жизни, в пятый день четвёртого месяца, когда я был в изгнании у реки Кевара в Вавилоне, небеса раскрылись, и мне было видение от Аллаха. 2 В тот день (шёл пятый год плена царя Иехонии[a]) (31 июля 593 г. до н. э.) 3 слово Вечного[b] было ко мне, священнослужителю Езекиилу, сыну Бузи,[c] у реки Кевара в стране вавилонян, и там на мне была рука Вечного.
4 Я смотрел и видел смерч, который надвигался с севера: огромное облако со сверкающими молниями, окружённое сиянием. Посреди огня было нечто, подобное сияющему металлу. 5 В огне были подобия четырёх живых существ. Обличием они походили на людей, 6 но у каждого из них было по четыре лица и четыре крыла. 7 Ноги у них были прямыми, а ступни ног походили на копыта телёнка и сверкали, как блестящая латунь. 8 Под крыльями на четырёх их сторонах у них были человеческие руки. 9 Все они имели лица и крылья, и крылья их соприкасались одно с другим. Каждое из них двигалось лицом вперёд; при движении они не оборачивались. 10 Лица у них были такими: у каждого из четырёх спереди было человеческое лицо, с правой стороны у каждого было лицо льва, с левой стороны – лицо вола, а сзади у каждого из них было лицо орла. 11 Такими были их лица. Крылья у них были простёрты вверх; у каждого существа было по две пары крыльев: одна пара касалась крыльев других существ по обеим сторонам, а другая пара закрывала тело. 12 Каждое из них шло лицом вперёд. Куда бы ни шёл Дух, шли и они, не оборачиваясь на ходу. 13 Облик живых существ был подобен горящим углям, подобен факелам. Огонь непрестанно перемещался посреди существ; он пламенел, и из него вырывалась молния. 14 Существа быстро передвигались вперёд и назад, подобно тому, как сверкает молния.
15 Я смотрел на живых существ и видел на земле возле них колёса, по одному на каждого из четырёх. 16 Колёса выглядели следующим образом: они искрились подобно хризолиту, и все четыре колеса были одинаковыми на вид. Они выглядели так, словно колесо находилось в колесе. 17 Двигаясь, они могли направляться в любую из четырёх сторон, куда были обращены существа; когда существа передвигались, колёса не поворачивались. 18 Их ободья были высокими и устрашающими; по всему кругу ободьев всех четырёх колёс располагались глаза.
19 Когда живые существа двигались, двигались и колёса, располагавшиеся возле них; когда существа поднимались с земли, поднимались и колёса. 20 Куда бы ни шёл Дух, шли и они; колёса поднимались с ними, потому что Дух живых существ был в колёсах. 21 Когда существа двигались, они тоже двигались; когда существа стояли, они тоже стояли, а когда существа поднимались с земли, колёса поднимались вместе с ними, потому что Дух живых существ был в колёсах.
22 Над головами живых существ было нечто, подобное своду, оно изумительно искрилось, подобно кристаллу; и этот свод был распростёрт над их головами. 23 Под сводом крылья существ были простёрты одно к другому, и каждый из них имел по два крыла, закрывавших тело. 24 Когда существа двигались, я слышал шум от их крыльев, который был подобен рёву могучих вод, голосу Всемогущего, боевому кличу в воинском стане. Останавливаясь, существа опускали крылья.
25 И из-за свода над их головами раздавался голос; останавливаясь, они опускали крылья. 26 Над сводом, который был над их головами, было нечто, подобное престолу из сапфира, а над подобием престола, сверху, восседал Некто, похожий на человека. 27 Я видел, что от пояса и выше Он был похож на сияющий металл, словно бы исполненный пламени, а ниже пояса Он был похож на огонь; Его окружало сияние. 28 Сияние вокруг Него было подобно радуге в облаках в дождливый день.

Ezekiel’s Vision of God
1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by (A)the River Chebar, that (B)the heavens were opened and I saw (C)visions[a] of God. 2 On the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, 3 the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the [b]Chaldeans by the River Chebar; and (D)the hand of the Lord was upon him there.
4 Then I looked, and behold, (E)a whirlwind was coming (F)out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. 5 (G)Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures. And (H)this was their appearance: they had (I)the likeness of a man. 6 Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings. 7 Their [c]legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves’ feet. They sparkled (J)like the color of burnished bronze. 8 (K)The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings. 9 Their wings touched one another. The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight (L)forward.
10 As for (M)the likeness of their faces, each (N)had the face of a man; each of the four had (O)the face of a lion on the right side, (P)each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, (Q)and each of the four had the face of an eagle. 11 Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and (R)two covered their bodies. 12 And (S)each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went.
13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, (T)like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning. 14 And the living creatures ran back and forth, (U)in appearance like a flash of lightning.
15 Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, (V)a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces. 16 (W)The appearance of the wheels and their workings was (X)like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel. 17 When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went. 18 As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were (Y)full of eyes, all around the four of them. 19 (Z)When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. 20 Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, because there the spirit went; and the wheels were lifted together with them, (AA)for the spirit of the [d]living creatures was in the wheels. 21 When those went, these went; when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up together with them, for the spirit of the [e]living creatures was in the wheels.
22 (AB)The likeness of the [f]firmament above the heads of the [g]living creatures was like the color of an awesome (AC)crystal, stretched out (AD)over their heads. 23 And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body. 24 (AE)When they went, I heard the noise of their wings, (AF)like the noise of many waters, like (AG)the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army; and when they stood still, they let down their wings. 25 A voice came from above the firmament that was over their heads; whenever they stood, they let down their wings.
26 (AH)And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, (AI)in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above (AJ)it. 27 Also from the appearance of His waist and upward (AK)I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. 28 (AL)Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. (AM)This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.

1 Em 31 de julho[a] de meu trigésimo ano,[b] enquanto eu estava com os exilados judeus junto ao rio Quebar, na Babilônia, os céus se abriram e tive visões de Deus. 2 Isso aconteceu no quinto ano do exílio do rei Joaquim. 3 (O Senhor deu essa mensagem ao sacerdote Ezequiel, filho de Buzi, junto ao rio Quebar, na terra dos babilônios,[c] e a mão do Senhor estava sobre ele.)
4 Quando olhei, vi uma grande tempestade que vinha do norte. Uma nuvem faiscava com relâmpagos e brilhava com luz intensa. Dentro da nuvem havia fogo e, no meio do fogo, resplandecia algo semelhante a âmbar reluzente.[d] 5 Do centro da nuvem surgiram quatro seres vivos de aparência humana, 6 porém cada um tinha quatro rostos e quatro asas. 7 Suas pernas eram retas, e seus pés tinham cascos como os de bezerro e brilhavam como bronze polido. 8 Debaixo de cada uma das quatro asas, vi mãos humanas. Assim, cada um dos quatro seres tinha quatro rostos e quatro asas. 9 As asas de cada um dos seres tocavam as asas dos seres ao seu lado. Cada um se movia para a frente, sem se virar.
10 Cada um dos quatro seres tinha rosto humano na frente, rosto de leão à direita, rosto de boi à esquerda e rosto de águia atrás. 11 Cada um tinha dois pares de asas estendidas: com um par tocava as asas dos seres de cada lado e com o outro par cobria o corpo. 12 Deslocavam-se em qualquer direção que o espírito indicava e moviam-se para a frente, sem se virar.
13 Os seres vivos eram semelhantes a brasas acesas ou tochas reluzentes, e relâmpagos pareciam faiscar entre eles. 14 Os seres vivos se deslocavam de um lado para o outro rapidamente, como relâmpagos.
15 Enquanto eu olhava para esses seres, vi quatro rodas que tocavam o chão junto a eles, uma roda para cada um. 16 As rodas brilhavam, como se fossem feitas de berilo. As quatro rodas eram semelhantes e feitas da mesma forma; cada uma tinha dentro dela outra roda que girava na transversal. 17 Os seres podiam se deslocar em qualquer uma das quatro direções, sem se virar enquanto se moviam. 18 Os aros das rodas eram altos e assustadores, cobertos de olhos em todo o redor.
19 Quando os seres vivos se moviam, as rodas se moviam com eles. Quando eles voavam para cima, as rodas também subiam. 20 O espírito dos seres vivos estava nas rodas; aonde quer que o espírito fosse, as rodas e os seres vivos o acompanhavam. 21 Quando os seres se moviam, as rodas também se moviam. Quando os seres paravam, as rodas também paravam. Quando os seres voavam para cima, as rodas também subiam, pois o espírito dos seres vivos estava nas rodas.
22 Acima deles estendia-se uma superfície como o céu, brilhante como cristal. 23 Abaixo dessa superfície as asas de cada ser vivo se estendiam de modo a tocar as asas dos outros, e as outras duas asas cobriam seu corpo. 24 Quando voavam, o estrondo de suas asas soava para mim como ondas do mar quebrando na praia, como a voz do Todo-poderoso,[e] ou como os gritos de um grande exército. Quando os seres pararam, abaixaram as asas. 25 Enquanto estavam com as asas abaixadas, uma voz falou de além da superfície acima deles.
26 Acima dessa superfície havia algo parecido com um trono de safira. No trono, bem no alto, havia uma figura semelhante a um homem. 27 Da cintura para cima, tinha a aparência de âmbar reluzente que cintilava como o fogo, e, da cintura para baixo, parecia uma chama ardente que brilhava com esplendor. 28 Estava rodeado por um aro luminoso, como arco-íris que resplandece entre as nuvens num dia de chuva. Essa era a aparência da glória do Senhor para mim. Quando a vi, prostrei-me com o rosto no chão e ouvi a voz de alguém que falava comigo.
