Анания и Сапфира
5 Один же человек, по имени Анания, вместе со своей женой Сапфирой, продал своё имение 2 и часть вырученной суммы оставил себе, причём его жена знала об этом. Остальное же он принёс и положил к ногам посланников Масиха. 3 Петир сказал ему:
– Анания, как это Шайтан мог завладеть твоим сердцем настолько, что ты солгал Святому Духу и оставил себе часть денег, которые ты получил за проданную землю? 4 Ведь земля до того, как ты её продал, была твоей, и деньги, которые ты за неё получил, тоже твои. Почему же ты замыслил такое? Ты солгал не людям, а Аллаху.
5 Как только Анания услышал эти слова, он упал мёртвым. Все присутствующие сильно испугались. 6 Подошли молодые люди, завернули его тело, вынесли и похоронили.
7 Часа три спустя пришла его жена, ничего не знавшая о происшедшем. 8 Петир спросил её:
– Скажи мне, вы с мужем за такую-то сумму продали землю?
– Да, – ответила она, – за такую.
9 Петир сказал ей:
– Что это вы сговорились испытывать Духа Вечного Повелителя? Ты слышишь шаги у дверей? Это возвращаются хоронившие твоего мужа. Они и тебя вынесут.
10 И в тот же момент она упала к его ногам мёртвой. Молодые люди вошли и, найдя её мёртвой, вынесли и похоронили её рядом с мужем. 11 Всей общиной верующих и всеми, кто об этом слышал, овладел великий страх.
Знамения и чудеса
12 Через посланников Масиха в народе совершалось много знамений и чудес. Все верующие собирались вместе в колоннаде Сулеймана. 13 И никто из случайных людей не решался к ним присоединяться, хотя народ их очень уважал. 14 Верующих же в Повелителя Ису становилось всё больше и больше, и мужчин, и женщин. 15 Люди выносили на улицы больных, клали их на носилках и постелях, чтобы хоть тень Петира упала на них, когда он будет проходить мимо. 16 И из городов, что были близ Иерусалима, приходили толпы людей. Они приносили больных и одержимых нечистыми духами, и все исцелялись.
Преследования посланников Исы Масиха
17 Тогда верховный священнослужитель и все его приближённые, члены религиозной партии саддукеев, были переполнены завистью. 18 Они арестовали посланников Масиха и заключили их в народную темницу. 19 Однако ангел от Вечного ночью открыл ворота темницы и вывел их.
20 – Идите, станьте в храме, – сказал он, – и говорите людям о новой жизни.
21 Они послушались и, придя рано утром в храм, начали учить.
Когда прибыли верховный священнослужитель и его приближённые, они созвали Высший Совет и всех старейшин Исраила и послали в темницу за посланниками Масиха. 22 Но когда стражники пришли в темницу, то не нашли их там и, возвратившись, доложили:
23 – Темничные ворота надёжно закрыты, у ворот стоит охрана, но когда мы вошли внутрь, мы никого там не нашли.
24 Выслушав их, начальник храмовой стражи и главные священнослужители пришли в недоумение – что бы это значило? 25 Потом кто-то пришёл и сообщил им:
– Люди, которых вы заключили в темницу, стоят в храме и учат народ.
26 Тогда начальник стражи пошёл со стражниками и привёл посланников Масиха. Они не применяли силу, потому что боялись, что народ может побить их камнями.
27 Посланников Масиха ввели и поставили перед Высшим Советом. Верховный священнослужитель сказал им:
28 – Мы вам строго запретили учить от имени Исы, но вы весь Иерусалим наполнили своим учением, и к тому же обвиняете нас в смерти Этого Человека.
29 Петир и другие посланники Масиха ответили:
– Мы должны больше подчиняться Аллаху, чем людям! 30 Бог наших предков воскресил Ису, Которого вы убили, повесив на дереве[a]. 31 Но Аллах вознёс Его и посадил по правую руку от Себя как Вождя и Спасителя, чтобы дать народу Исраила возможность покаяния и прощения грехов. 32 Свидетели этому – мы и Святой Дух, Которого Аллах дал тем, кто послушен Ему.
33 Когда присутствующие услышали это, они пришли в ярость и хотели убить посланников Масиха. 34 Но тогда встал один из членов Высшего Совета, блюститель Закона[b] по имени Гамалиил, учитель Таурата, уважаемый всем народом. Он велел вывести посланников Масиха на некоторое время. 35 Затем он сказал:
– Исраильтяне, хорошо подумайте о том, что вы собираетесь сделать с этими людьми. 36 Не так давно объявился здесь Февда, выдававший себя за кого-то великого. За ним пошло около четырёхсот человек, но когда он был убит, то все его последователи разбежались, и всё окончилось ничем. 37 После него был Иуда из Галилеи. Он появился во время переписи и увлёк народ за собой. Он тоже погиб, и его последователи рассеялись. 38 Поэтому в данном случае вот вам мой совет: оставьте этих людей. Отпустите их. Если их начинание от людей, то оно обречено на провал. 39 Если же оно от Аллаха, то вы не сможете их остановить, а лишь сами окажетесь противниками Аллаха.
Его речь убедила присутствующих. 40 Они призвали посланников Масиха и приказали их избить. Потом они ещё раз запретили им говорить от имени Исы и отпустили. 41 Посланники Масиха покинули Совет, радуясь тому, что они оказались достойными понести такое бесчестие ради имени Исы. 42 И каждый день в храме и по домам они продолжали учить и возвещать Радостную Весть о том, что Иса и есть Масих.

El pecado de Ananías y Safira
5 Pero hubo uno, llamado Ananías, que junto con Safira, su esposa, vendió un terreno. 2 Este hombre, de común acuerdo con su esposa, se quedó con una parte del dinero y puso la otra parte a disposición de los apóstoles. 3 Pedro le dijo:
—Ananías, ¿por qué dejaste que Satanás te dominara y te hiciera mentir al Espíritu Santo quedándote con parte del dinero que te pagaron por el terreno? 4 ¿Acaso no era tuyo el terreno? Y puesto que lo vendiste, ¿no era tuyo el dinero? ¿Por qué se te ocurrió hacer esto? No has mentido a los hombres, sino a Dios.
5 Al oír esto, Ananías cayó muerto. Y todos los que lo supieron se llenaron de miedo. 6 Entonces vinieron unos jóvenes, envolvieron el cuerpo y se lo llevaron a enterrar.
7 Unas tres horas después entró la esposa de Ananías, sin saber lo que había pasado. 8 Pedro le preguntó:
—Dime, ¿vendieron ustedes el terreno en el precio que han dicho?
Ella contestó:
—Sí, en ese precio.
9 Pedro le dijo:
—¿Por qué se pusieron ustedes de acuerdo para poner a prueba al Espíritu del Señor? Ahí vienen los que se llevaron a enterrar a tu esposo, y ahora te van a llevar también a ti.
10 En ese mismo instante Safira cayó muerta a los pies de Pedro. Cuando entraron los jóvenes, la encontraron muerta, y se la llevaron a enterrar al lado de su esposo. 11 Y todos los de la iglesia, y todos los que supieron estas cosas, se llenaron de miedo.
Muchos milagros y señales
12 Por medio de los apóstoles se hacían muchas señales y milagros entre la gente; y todos se reunían en el Pórtico de Salomón. 13 Ninguno de los otros se atrevía a juntarse con ellos, pero la gente los tenía en alta estima. 14 Y aumentó el número de personas, tanto hombres como mujeres, que creyeron en el Señor. 15 Y sacaban los enfermos a las calles, poniéndolos en camas y camillas para que, al pasar Pedro, por lo menos su sombra cayera sobre alguno de ellos. 16 También de los pueblos vecinos a Jerusalén acudía mucha gente trayendo enfermos y personas atormentadas por espíritus impuros; y todos eran sanados.
Persecución de los apóstoles
17 El sumo sacerdote y los del partido de los saduceos que estaban con él, se llenaron de envidia, 18 y arrestaron a los apóstoles y los metieron en la cárcel pública. 19 Pero un ángel del Señor abrió de noche las puertas de la cárcel y los sacó, diciéndoles: 20 «Vayan y, de pie en el templo, cuenten al pueblo todo este mensaje de vida.» 21 Conforme a esto que habían oído, al día siguiente entraron temprano en el templo y comenzaron a enseñar.
Entonces, el sumo sacerdote y los que estaban con él llamaron a todos los ancianos israelitas a una reunión de la Junta Suprema, y mandaron traer de la cárcel a los apóstoles. 22 Pero cuando los guardias llegaron a la cárcel, no los encontraron. Así que volvieron con la noticia, 23 diciendo:
—Encontramos la cárcel perfectamente cerrada, y a los soldados vigilando delante de las puertas; pero cuando abrimos, no encontramos a nadie dentro.
24 Al oírlo, el jefe de la guardia del templo y los principales sacerdotes se preguntaban en qué iría a parar todo aquello. 25 En aquel momento llegó uno, que les dijo:
—Los que ustedes metieron en la cárcel, están en el templo enseñando al pueblo.
26 El jefe de la guardia, junto con los guardias, fue a buscarlos; pero no los maltrataron, porque tenían miedo de ser apedreados por la gente. 27 Al llegar, los llevaron ante la Junta Suprema, y el sumo sacerdote les dijo:
28 —Nosotros les habíamos prohibido terminantemente que enseñaran nada relacionado con ese hombre. ¿Y qué han hecho ustedes? Han llenado toda Jerusalén con esas enseñanzas, y encima quieren echarnos la culpa de la muerte de ese hombre.
29 Pedro y los demás apóstoles contestaron:
—Es nuestro deber obedecer a Dios antes que a los hombres. 30 El Dios de nuestros antepasados resucitó a Jesús, el mismo a quien ustedes mataron colgándolo en una cruz. 31 Dios lo ha levantado y lo ha puesto a su derecha, y lo ha hecho Guía y Salvador, para que la nación de Israel se vuelva a Dios y reciba el perdón de sus pecados. 32 De esto somos testigos nosotros, y también lo es el Espíritu Santo, que Dios ha dado a los que le obedecen.
33 Cuando oyeron esto, se enfurecieron y quisieron matarlos. 34 Pero entre aquellas autoridades había un fariseo llamado Gamaliel, que era un maestro de la ley muy respetado por el pueblo. Éste se puso de pie y mandó que por un momento sacaran de allí a los apóstoles. 35 Luego dijo a las demás autoridades:
—Israelitas, tengan cuidado con lo que van a hacer con estos hombres. 36 Recuerden que hace algún tiempo se levantó Teudas, alegando ser un hombre importante, y unos cuatrocientos hombres lo siguieron. Pero a éste lo mataron, y sus seguidores se dispersaron, y allí se acabó todo. 37 Más tarde, en los días del censo, se levantó Judas, el de Galilea, y logró que algunos lo siguieran; pero también lo mataron, y todos sus seguidores se dispersaron. 38 En este caso, yo les aconsejo que dejen a estos hombres y que no se metan con ellos. Porque si este asunto es cosa de los hombres, pasará; 39 pero si es cosa de Dios, no podrán ustedes vencerlos. Tengan cuidado, no se vayan a encontrar luchando contra Dios.
Ellos le hicieron caso. 40 Así que llamaron a los apóstoles, los azotaron y les prohibieron seguir hablando en el nombre de Jesús; después los soltaron. 41 Los apóstoles salieron de la presencia de las autoridades muy contentos, porque Dios les había concedido el honor de sufrir injurias por causa del nombre de Jesús. 42 Todos los días enseñaban y anunciaban la buena noticia de Jesús el Mesías, tanto en el templo como por las casas.

5 Algo muy diferente pasó con un hombre llamado Ananías. Este hombre y su esposa, que se llamaba Safira, se pusieron de acuerdo y vendieron un terreno, 2 pero se quedaron con parte del dinero de la venta. El resto se lo entregaron a los apóstoles. 3 Entonces Pedro le dijo a Ananías:
—¿Por qué le hiciste caso a Satanás? Creíste que podrías engañar al Espíritu Santo, y te quedaste con parte del dinero. 4 Antes de vender el terreno, era todo tuyo y de tu esposa. Y cuando lo vendiste, todo el dinero también era de ustedes. ¿Por qué lo hiciste? No nos has mentido a nosotros, sino a Dios.
5-6 Al oír esto, Ananías cayó muerto allí mismo. Entonces unos muchachos envolvieron el cuerpo de Ananías y lo llevaron a enterrar. Y todos los que estaban en ese lugar sintieron mucho miedo.
7 Como tres horas más tarde llegó Safira, sin saber lo que había pasado. 8 Entonces Pedro le preguntó:
—Dime, ¿vendieron ustedes el terreno en este precio?
—Así es —respondió ella—. Ése fue el precio.
Entonces Pedro le dijo:
9 —¿Por qué se pusieron de acuerdo para engañar al Espíritu del Señor? Mira, ahí vienen los muchachos que acaban de enterrar a tu esposo, y ellos mismos te enterrarán a ti.
10 Al instante, Safira cayó muerta, así que los muchachos entraron y se la llevaron para enterrarla junto a su esposo. 11 Todos los que pertenecían a la iglesia, y todos los que se enteraron de lo sucedido, sintieron mucho miedo.
Dios hace cosas maravillosas
12 Por medio de los apóstoles, Dios seguía haciendo milagros y señales maravillosas entre la gente. Todos los días, los seguidores de Jesús se reunían en el Portón de Salomón, 13 y aunque los que no eran del grupo no se atrevían a acercarse, todo el mundo los respetaba y hablaba bien de ellos.
14 Cada día se agregaban al grupo más hombres y mujeres que creían en Jesús. 15 La gente sacaba a los enfermos en camas y en camillas, y los ponía en las calles por donde Pedro iba a pasar, con la esperanza de que por lo menos su sombra cayera sobre alguno y lo sanara.
16 Mucha gente de los pueblos cercanos a Jerusalén también llevaba enfermos y gente con espíritus malos, y todos eran sanados.
Los apóstoles y la Junta Suprema
17 El jefe de los sacerdotes y todos los saduceos que lo acompañaban sintieron mucha envidia de los apóstoles. 18 Por eso mandaron que los arrestaran y los pusieran en la cárcel de la ciudad.
19 Pero en la noche un ángel del Señor se les apareció, abrió las puertas de la cárcel, y los liberó. Luego les dijo: 20 «Vayan al templo y compartan con la gente el mensaje de salvación.»
21 Ya estaba por amanecer cuando los apóstoles llegaron frente al templo y empezaron a hablarle a la gente.
Mientras tanto, el jefe de los sacerdotes y sus ayudantes reunieron a toda la Junta Suprema y a los líderes del pueblo. Después mandaron traer a los apóstoles, 22 pero los guardias llegaron a la cárcel y no los encontraron. Así que regresaron y dijeron: 23 «La cárcel estaba bien cerrada, y los soldados vigilaban las entradas, pero cuando abrimos la celda no encontramos a nadie.»
24 Cuando el jefe de los guardias del templo y los sacerdotes principales oyeron eso, no sabían qué pensar, y ni siquiera podían imaginarse lo que había sucedido.
25 De pronto, llegó alguien y dijo: «¡Los hombres que ustedes encerraron en la cárcel están frente al templo, hablándole a la gente!»
26 Entonces el jefe de los guardias y sus ayudantes fueron y arrestaron de nuevo a los apóstoles; pero no los maltrataron, porque tenían miedo de que la gente se enojara y los apedreara. 27 Cuando llegaron ante la Junta Suprema, el jefe de los sacerdotes les dijo:
28 —Ya les habíamos advertido que no enseñaran más acerca de ese hombre Jesús, pero no nos obedecieron. A todos en Jerusalén les han hablado de Jesús, y hasta nos acusan a nosotros de haberlo matado.
29 Pedro y los demás apóstoles respondieron:
—Nosotros primero obedecemos a Dios, y después a los humanos. 30 Ustedes mataron a Jesús en una cruz, pero el Dios a quien adoraron nuestros antepasados lo resucitó. 31 Dios ha hecho que Jesús se siente a la derecha de su trono,[a] y lo ha nombrado Jefe y Salvador, para que el pueblo de Israel deje de pecar y Dios le perdone sus pecados. 32 Nosotros somos testigos de estas cosas, y también el Espíritu Santo. Porque Dios da su Espíritu Santo a todos los que lo obedecen.
Un buen consejo
33 La Junta Suprema los escuchó, y sus miembros se enojaron tanto que querían matarlos. 34 Pero un fariseo llamado Gamaliel ordenó que sacaran a los apóstoles por un momento. Gamaliel era maestro de la Ley, y los judíos lo respetaban mucho, 35 así que les dijo a sus compañeros:
—Israelitas, piensen bien lo que van a hacer con estos hombres. 36 Recuerden que hace algún tiempo apareció un hombre llamado Teudas, quien se creía muy importante, y como cuatrocientos hombres creyeron en él. Luego alguien lo mató, y todos sus seguidores huyeron, y no se volvió a hablar de él. 37 Después apareció un tal Judas, de la región de Galilea, y muchos le hicieron caso. Eso fue en los días en que se estaba haciendo la lista de todos los habitantes de Israel. A ése también lo mataron, y sus seguidores huyeron.
38 »En este caso, yo les aconsejo que dejen en libertad a estos hombres, y que no se preocupen. Si lo que están haciendo lo planearon ellos mismos, esto no durará mucho. 39 Pero si es un plan de Dios, nada ni nadie podrá detenerlos, y ustedes se encontrarán luchando contra Dios.»
A todos les pareció bueno el consejo, 40 así que enseguida mandaron traer a los apóstoles, y ordenaron que los azotaran en la espalda con un látigo. Luego les prohibieron hablar de Jesús, y los dejaron en libertad. 41 Y los apóstoles salieron de allí muy contentos, porque Dios les había permitido sufrir por obedecer a Jesús.
42 Los seguidores de Jesús iban al templo todos los días, y también se reunían en las casas. Los apóstoles, por su parte, no dejaban de enseñar y de anunciar la buena noticia acerca de Jesús, el rey elegido por Dios.

5 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,
18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,
20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and told,
23 Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.
25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.
34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
