14 В Иконии они вошли вместе в Иудейскую синагогу и говорили так, что уверовало великое множество Иудеев и Еллинов.
2 А неверующие Иудеи возбудили и раздражили против братьев сердца язычников.
3 Впрочем они пробыли [здесь] довольно времени, смело действуя о Господе, Который, во свидетельство слову благодати Своей, творил руками их знамения и чудеса.
4 Между тем народ в городе разделился: и одни были на стороне Иудеев, а другие на стороне Апостолов.
5 Когда же язычники и Иудеи со своими начальниками устремились на них, чтобы посрамить и побить их камнями,
6 они, узнав [о сем], удалились в Ликаонские города Листру и Дервию и в окрестности их,
7 и там благовествовали.
8 В Листре некоторый муж, не владевший ногами, сидел, будучи хром от чрева матери своей, и никогда не ходил.
9 Он слушал говорившего Павла, который, взглянув на него и увидев, что он имеет веру для получения исцеления,
10 сказал громким голосом: тебе говорю во имя Господа Иисуса Христа: стань на ноги твои прямо. И он тотчас вскочил и стал ходить.
11 Народ же, увидев, что сделал Павел, возвысил свой голос, говоря по-ликаонски: боги в образе человеческом сошли к нам.
12 И называли Варнаву Зевсом, а Павла Ермием, потому что он начальствовал в слове.
13 Жрец же [идола] Зевса, находившегося перед их городом, приведя к воротам волов и [принеся] венки, хотел вместе с народом совершить жертвоприношение.
14 Но Апостолы Варнава и Павел, услышав [о сем], разодрали свои одежды и, бросившись в народ, громогласно говорили:
15 мужи! что вы это делаете? И мы--подобные вам человеки, и благовествуем вам, чтобы вы обратились от сих ложных к Богу Живому, Который сотворил небо и землю, и море, и все, что в них,
16 Который в прошедших родах попустил всем народам ходить своими путями,
17 хотя и не переставал свидетельствовать о Себе благодеяниями, подавая нам с неба дожди и времена плодоносные и исполняя пищею и веселием сердца наши.
18 И, говоря сие, они едва убедили народ не приносить им жертвы и идти каждому домой. Между тем, как они, оставаясь там, учили,
19 из Антиохии и Иконии пришли некоторые Иудеи и, когда [Апостолы] смело проповедывали, убедили народ отстать от них, говоря: они не говорят ничего истинного, а все лгут. И, возбудив народ, побили Павла камнями и вытащили за город, почитая его умершим.
20 Когда же ученики собрались около него, он встал и пошел в город, а на другой день удалился с Варнавою в Дервию.
21 Проповедав Евангелие сему городу и приобретя довольно учеников, они обратно проходили Листру, Иконию и Антиохию,
22 утверждая души учеников, увещевая пребывать в вере и [поучая], что многими скорбями надлежит нам войти в Царствие Божие.
23 Рукоположив же им пресвитеров к каждой церкви, они помолились с постом и предали их Господу, в Которого уверовали.
24 Потом, пройдя через Писидию, пришли в Памфилию,
25 и, проповедав слово Господне в Пергии, сошли в Атталию;
26 а оттуда отплыли в Антиохию, откуда были преданы благодати Божией на дело, которое и исполнили.
27 Прибыв туда и собрав церковь, они рассказали всё, что сотворил Бог с ними и как Он отверз дверь веры язычникам.
28 И пребывали там немалое время с учениками.

At Iconium
14 Now it happened in Iconium that they went together to the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of the Jews and of the (A)Greeks believed. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and [a]poisoned their [b]minds against the brethren. 3 Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, (B)who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and (C)wonders to be done by their hands.
4 But the multitude of the city was (D)divided: part sided with the Jews, and part with the (E)apostles. 5 And when a violent attempt was made by both the Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, (F)to abuse and stone them, 6 they became aware of it and (G)fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding region. 7 And they were preaching the gospel there.
Idolatry at Lystra
8 (H)And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked. 9 This man heard Paul speaking. [c]Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, 10 said with a loud voice, (I)“Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked. 11 Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, (J)“The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!” 12 And Barnabas they called [d]Zeus, and Paul, [e]Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. 13 Then the priest of Zeus, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, (K)intending to sacrifice with the multitudes.
14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, (L)they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out 15 and saying, “Men, (M)why are you doing these things? (N)We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from (O)these useless things (P)to the living God, (Q)who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, 16 (R)who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. 17 (S)Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, (T)gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with (U)food and gladness.” 18 And with these sayings they could scarcely restrain the multitudes from sacrificing to them.
Stoning, Escape to Derbe
19 (V)Then Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, (W)they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be (X)dead. 20 However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
Strengthening the Converts
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city (Y)and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, 22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, (Z)exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, (AA)“We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” 23 So when they had (AB)appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed. 24 And after they had passed through Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia. 25 Now when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia. 26 From there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work which they had completed.
27 Now when they had come and gathered the church together, (AC)they reported all that God had done with them, and that He had (AD)opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. 28 So they stayed there a long time with the disciples.

14 Or avvenne che anche a Iconio essi entrarono nella sinagoga dei Giudei e parlarono in modo tale che una grande folla di Giudei e di Greci credette,
2 ma i Giudei increduli sollevarono e inasprirono gli animi dei gentili contro i fratelli.
3 Essi dunque rimasero là molto tempo, parlando francamente nel Signore, il quale rendeva testimonianza alla parola della sua grazia, concedendo che segni e prodigi si operassero per mano loro.
4 Or la popolazione della città fu divisa: gli uni parteggiavano per i Giudei e gli altri per gli apostoli.
5 Ma quando ci fu un tentativo dei gentili e dei Giudei con i loro capi di maltrattare gli apostoli e lapidarli,
6 essi lo vennero a sapere e fuggirono nelle città della Licaonia, a Listra. a Derbe, e nella regione circostante
7 e là continuarono ad evangelizzare.
8 Or a Listra c'era un uomo paralizzato ai piedi, che stava sempre seduto e non aveva mai camminato, essendo storpio sin dal grembo di sua madre.
9 Costui udí parlare Paolo che, fissati gli occhi su di lui, e vedendo che egli aveva fede per essere guarito,
10 disse ad alta voce: «Alzati in piedi». Ed egli saltò su e si mise a camminare.
11 Quando la folla vide ciò che Paolo aveva fatto, alzò la voce, dicendo in lingua licaonica: «Gli dèi sono discesi fino a noi, in forma umana».
12 E chiamavano Barnaba Giove, Paolo Mercurio, perché era lui che parlava di piú.
13 Or il sacerdote di Giove, il cui tempio era all'ingresso della loro città, condusse dei tori con ghirlande alle porte e voleva offrire un sacrificio assieme alla folla.
14 Ma gli apostoli Barnaba e Paolo, udito ciò, si stracciarono le vesti e si precipitarono in mezzo alla folla, gridando e dicendo:
15 «Uomini, perché fate queste cose? Anche noi siamo esseri umani con la vostra stessa natura e vi annunziamo la buona novella, affinché da queste cose vane vi convertiate al Dio vivente cheha fatto il cielo, la terra, il mare e tutte le cose che sono in essi.
16 Nelle generazioni passate egli ha lasciato che tutte le nazioni seguissero le loro strade;
17 ma non ha lasciato se stesso senza testimonianza, facendo del bene, dandoci dal cielo piogge e stagioni fruttifere e riempiendo i nostri cuori di cibo e di gioia».
18 Dicendo queste cose, riuscirono a stento a trattenere le folle dall'offrire loro un sacrificio.
19 Or sopraggiunsero certi Giudei da Antiochia e da Iconio; essi, dopo aver persuaso la folla, lapidarono Paolo e, pensando che fosse morto, lo trascinarono fuori della città.
20 Ma, essendosi i discepoli radunati intorno a lui, egli si alzò ed entrò in città; e il giorno seguente partí con Barnaba alla volta di Derbe.
21 E, dopo aver evangelizzato quella città e fatto molti discepoli, se ne ritornarono a Listra, a Iconio e ad Antiochia,
22 confermando gli animi dei discepoli e esortandoli a perseverare nella fede, e dicendo che attraverso molte afflizioni dobbiamo entrare nel regno di Dio.
23 E dopo aver designato per loro degli anziani in ciascuna chiesa, avendo pregato e digiunato, li raccomandarono al Signore nel quale avevano creduto.
24 Attraversata poi la Pisidia, vennero nella Panfilia.
25 E, dopo aver annunziata la parola a Perge, scesero ad Attalia.
26 Poi di là salparono per Antiochia da dove erano stati raccomandati alla grazia di Dio per l'opera che avevano appena compiuta.
27 Giunti là, radunarono la chiesa e riferirono quante grandi cose Dio aveva compiuto per mezzo loro e come egli aveva aperto ai gentili la porta della fede.
28 E rimasero qui con i discepoli per parecchio tempo.
