Служение в Конии
14 В Конии Павлус и Варнава вошли, как обычно, в иудейский дом молитвы и говорили так убедительно, что поверило очень много людей из иудеев и других народов. 2 Однако иудеи, которые отказались им верить, возбудили язычников и настроили их против верующих. 3 Павлус и Варнава провели там довольно много времени. Они смело говорили о Повелителе Исо, Который подтверждал весть о Своей благодати, давая им силу совершать знамения и чудеса. 4 Жители города разделились. Одни поддерживали отвергающих Исо иудеев, а другие – посланников. 5 Но когда язычники и отвергающие Исо иудеи вместе со своими начальниками захотели применить силу и побить их камнями, 6 те, узнав об этом, бежали в города Ликаонии, Листру и Дербию, и в их окрестности, 7 где продолжали возвещать Радостную Весть.
Служение в Листре
8 В Листре жил человек, не владевший ногами; он был хромым от рождения и никогда не ходил. 9 Он слушал то, что говорил Павлус. Павлус же посмотрел на него и увидел, что у того есть вера для исцеления.
10 – Встань на ноги твои прямо! – громко сказал он калеке.
Тот вскочил и начал ходить. 11 Люди увидели, что сделал Павлус, и стали кричать на ликаонском языке:
– К нам сошли боги в образе людей!
12 Они назвали Варнаву Зевсом, а Павлуса Гермесом, потому что говорил в основном он.[a] 13 За городом был храм Зевса, и его жрец привёл к городским воротам быков и принёс венки, желая вместе с народом принести им жертву. 14 Когда же посланники Варнава и Павлус услышали об этом, они от такого кощунства разорвали на себе одежду, кинулись в толпу и стали кричать:
15 – Опомнитесь, что вы делаете? Мы такие же люди, как и вы! Мы принесли вам Радостную Весть, и мы хотим, чтобы вы оставили этих ложных богов и обратились к живому Богу, Который создал небо и землю, море и всё, что в них[b]. 16 В прошлом Он позволял народам ходить каждому своими путями, 17 но продолжал свидетельствовать о Себе, делая добро, посылая вам дождь с небес и урожай в своё время, давая пищу и наполняя ваши сердца радостью.
18 Но даже этими словами им едва удалось убедить народ не приносить им жертву.
19 Однако некоторые иудеи, которые пришли из Антиохии и Конии, склонили толпу на свою сторону. Павлуса побили камнями и выволокли за город, думая, что он уже мёртв. 20 Но когда ученики собрались вокруг него, он поднялся и пошёл обратно в город. На следующий день они с Варнавой ушли в Дербию.
Возвращение в Сирийскую Антиохию
21 Они возвещали Радостную Весть в Дербии и приобрели много учеников. Затем они возвратились в Листру, Конию и Писидийскую Антиохию. 22 Там они ободряли учеников и воодушевляли их оставаться твёрдыми в вере.
– Нам предстоит испытать много скорбей перед тем, как мы войдём в Царство Всевышнего, – говорили они.
23 Павлус и Варнава в каждой общине верующих назначили по несколько старейшин и, помолившись с постом, посвятили их Повелителю Исо, в Которого они поверили. 24 Затем они прошли Писидию и пришли в Памфилию. 25 Проповедовав слово в Пергии, они пришли в Анталью. 26 Из Антальи они отплыли обратно в Антиохию, где были вверены попечению Всевышнего на труд, который они и исполнили. 27 Вернувшись обратно, они собрали общину верующих и рассказали обо всём, что Всевышний совершил через них и как Он открыл дверь веры для язычников. 28 Там они пробыли довольно много времени вместе с учениками.

14 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.
3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
4 But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,
6 They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:
7 And there they preached the gospel.
8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:
9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.
13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
18 And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
24 And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
25 And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
26 And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
28 And there they abode long time with the disciples.

Paul and Barnabas in Iconium
14 The same thing occurred in Iconium, where Paul and Barnabas[a] went into the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks became believers. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. 3 So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who testified to the word of his grace by granting signs and wonders to be done through them. 4 But the residents of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, and some with the apostles. 5 And when an attempt was made by both Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to maltreat them and to stone them, 6 the apostles[b] learned of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding country; 7 and there they continued proclaiming the good news.

8 In Lystra there was a man sitting who could not use his feet and had never walked, for he had been crippled from birth. 9 He listened to Paul as he was speaking. And Paul, looking at him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, 10 said in a loud voice, ‘Stand upright on your feet.’ And the man[c] sprang up and began to walk. 11 When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, ‘The gods have come down to us in human form!’ 12 Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. 13 The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city,[d] brought oxen and garlands to the gates; he and the crowds wanted to offer sacrifice. 14 When the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting, 15 ‘Friends,[e] why are you doing this? We are mortals just like you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them. 16 In past generations he allowed all the nations to follow their own ways; 17 yet he has not left himself without a witness in doing good—giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, and filling you with food and your hearts with joy.’ 18 Even with these words, they scarcely restrained the crowds from offering sacrifice to them.
19 But Jews came there from Antioch and Iconium and won over the crowds. Then they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead. 20 But when the disciples surrounded him, he got up and went into the city. The next day he went on with Barnabas to Derbe.
The Return to Antioch in Syria
21 After they had proclaimed the good news to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, then on to Iconium and Antioch. 22 There they strengthened the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying, ‘It is through many persecutions that we must enter the kingdom of God.’ 23 And after they had appointed elders for them in each church, with prayer and fasting they entrusted them to the Lord in whom they had come to believe.
24 Then they passed through Pisidia and came to Pamphylia. 25 When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia. 26 From there they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work[f] that they had completed. 27 When they arrived, they called the church together and related all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith for the Gentiles. 28 And they stayed there with the disciples for some time.
