Варнава и Шаул посланы на служение
13 В общине верующих Антиохии были пророки и учители: Варнава, Шимон, называемый Нигер[a], киренец Луций, Менахем, получивший воспитание вместе с правителем Иродом, и Шаул. 2 Однажды, когда они совершали служение Вечному Повелителю и постились, Святой Дух сказал:
– Отделите мне Варнаву и Шаула для дела, к которому Я их призвал.
3 И они после поста и молитвы возложили на них руки и отпустили их.
Служение на Кипре
4 Шаул и Варнава, посланные Святым Духом, пошли в Селевкию, а оттуда отплыли на Кипр. 5 Они прибыли в Саламин и там возвещали слово Всевышнего в иудейских молитвенных домах. Иохан тоже был с ними и помогал им. 6 Они прошли весь остров и пришли в Паф. Там они встретили одного иудея по имени Бар-Иешуа, который был колдуном и лжепророком. 7 Он был из окружения правителя Сергия Паула, человека большого ума. Правитель пригласил Варнаву и Шаула, желая услышать слово Всевышнего. 8 Но колдун, которого также звали Елима (что значит «чародей»), действовал против них и пытался отвратить правителя от веры. 9 Тогда Шаул, он же Паул, исполнившись Святого Духа, посмотрел прямо на Елиму 10 и сказал:
– Сын дьявола, враг всякой праведности, полный лжи и нечестия! Неужели ты никогда не перестанешь искривлять прямые пути[b] Вечного Повелителя? 11 Рука Повелителя обращена против тебя, ты будешь поражён слепотой и некоторое время не будешь видеть солнечного света.
И сразу же его окутали мрак и тьма, и он стал метаться из стороны в сторону, ища кого-либо, кто бы повёл его за руку. 12 Когда правитель увидел, что произошло, он уверовал, изумлённый учением о Повелителе.
Служение в Писидийской Антиохии
13 Отплыв из Пафа, Паул и его спутники прибыли в Пергию в Памфилии.[c] Там Иохан оставил их и возвратился в Иерусалим. 14 Из Пергии они пошли дальше, в Писидийскую Антиохию. В субботу они пришли в молитвенный дом иудеев и сели. 15 После чтения из Таурата и Книги Пророков начальники молитвенного дома передали им:
– Братья, если у вас есть что-либо сказать в назидание людям, то говорите.
16 Паул встал и, сделав жест рукой, сказал:
– Народ Исраила и все боящиеся Всевышнего, выслушайте меня! 17 Бог исраильского народа избрал наших отцов. Он возвысил народ во время пребывания его в Египте и могучей рукой вывел их оттуда.[d] 18 Сорок лет[e] Он терпел их[f] в пустыне. 19 Он истребил в Ханаане семь народов[g] и отдал их землю в наследие нашим предкам.
20 На это ушло около четырёхсот пятидесяти лет. Затем, до времени пророка Шемуила, Всевышний давал им судей[h]. 21 Потом народ попросил себе царя, и Всевышний дал им Шаула, сына Киша из рода Вениамина. Шаул правил лет сорок. 22 Потом, отстранив Шаула, Всевышний сделал царём Давуда. Он свидетельствовал о нём: «Я нашёл Давуда, сына Есея, человек этот Мне по сердцу, он исполнит все Мои желания»[i].
23 Из потомков Давуда Всевышний, согласно Своему обещанию, призвал Спасителя Исраилу – Ису. 24 Перед пришествием Исы Яхия призывал весь народ Исраила принять обряд погружения в воду[j] в знак покаяния. 25 Заканчивая своё служение, Яхия говорил: «За кого вы меня принимаете? За Масиха? Я не Он. Но за мной идёт Тот, у Кого я не достоин даже развязать ремни сандалий на ногах».[k]
26 Братья, дети рода Ибрахима, и все, кто боится Всевышнего! Эта весть спасения была послана к нам! 27 Жители Иерусалима и их начальники не узнали Масиха, они осудили Его и тем самым исполнили слова пророков, которые читаются каждую субботу. 28 Они не нашли в Нём никакой вины, за которую Он был бы достоин смерти, и всё-таки выпросили у Пилата разрешение казнить Его. 29 Когда они исполнили всё, что было о Нём написано, они сняли Его с дерева[l] и положили в могильную пещеру. 30 Но Всевышний воскресил Его из мёртвых, 31 и ещё много дней те, кто пришёл вместе с Ним из Галилеи в Иерусалим, видели Его. Они сейчас – Его свидетели перед народом.
32 Мы провозглашаем вам сейчас эту Радостную Весть: то, что Всевышний обещал нашим отцам, Он исполнил для нас, их детей, воскресив Ису. 33 Во второй песне из Забура написано:
«Ты Сын Мой (Избранный Мной Царь).
Я Отцом Твоим отныне буду назван»[m].
34 А о том, что Всевышний воскресил Его из мёртвых, так что тело Его уже никогда не увидит тления, Он сказал так:
«Я дам вам святые и неизменные благословения, обещанные Давуду»[n].
35 И в другом месте Он говорит:
«Ты не дашь Верному Твоему увидеть тление»[o].
36 Давуд, в своё время послужив воле Всевышнего, умер. Его похоронили с его отцами, и тело его истлело.[p] 37 Но Тот, Кого Всевышний воскресил, избежал тления!
38 – Поэтому, братья, я хочу, чтобы вы знали, что, благодаря Исе, вам сегодня возвещается прощение грехов. 39 Соблюдением Закона Мусы вы не могли оправдаться перед Всевышним, но каждый верующий в Ису получает оправдание в Нём. 40 Смотрите, чтобы не случилось с вами того, о чём сказано в Книге Пророков:
41 «Посмотрите, насмешники!
Изумитесь и погибните!
Я совершу в ваши дни такое,
чему бы вы никогда не поверили,
если бы вам рассказали об этом»[q].
42 Когда Паул и Варнава покидали молитвенный дом иудеев, их попросили говорить о том же в следующую субботу. 43 Собрание разошлось, но многие иудеи и люди, чтущие Всевышнего, обращённые из других народов, пошли за Паулом и Варнавой. Те говорили с ними и убеждали их и дальше жить, доверяясь благодати Всевышнего.
44 В следующую субботу почти весь город собрался, чтобы послушать слово о Повелителе Исе. 45 Когда отвергающие Ису иудеи увидели столько народа, они исполнились завистью и стали с оскорблениями возражать тому, что говорил Паул. 46 Тогда Паул и Варнава решительно сказали им:
– Слово Всевышнего в первую очередь должно было быть возвещено вам. Но так как вы отрицаете его и считаете себя недостойными вечной жизни, мы обращаемся теперь к другим народам, 47 как и повелел нам Вечный. Он сказал:
«Я сделал Тебя светом для других народов,
чтобы через Тебя спасение достигло концов земли»[r].
48 Когда люди из других народов слышали это, они радовались и славили Вечного за Его слово, и все предназначенные к вечной жизни уверовали.
49 Слово о Повелителе Исе распространилось по всей той области.
50 Но отвергающие Ису иудеи подговорили чтущих Всевышнего женщин из знатных семей и влиятельных людей города, и те возбудили преследование против Паула и Варнавы и выгнали их из своих пределов. 51 Тогда они отряхнули пыль со своих ног во свидетельство против своих гонителей[s] и пошли в Конию. 52 Ученики же исполнялись радости и Святого Духа.

13 ¶ Había entonces en la Iglesia que estaba en Antioquía, profetas y maestros: Bernabé, y Simón el que se llamaba Niger, y Lucio Cireneo, y Manaén, que había sido criado con Herodes el tetrarca, y Saulo.
2 Ministrando pues éstos al Señor, y ayunando, dijo el Espíritu Santo: Apartadme a Bernabé y a Saulo para la obra para la cual los he llamado.
3 Entonces habiendo ayunado y orado, y puesto las manos encima de ellos, los despidieron.
4 ¶ Y ellos, enviados por el Espíritu Santo, descendieron a Seleucia; y de allí navegaron a Chipre.
5 Y llegados a Salamina, anunciaban la palabra de Dios en las sinagogas de los judíos; y tenían también a Juan como asistente.
6 Y habiendo atravesado toda la isla hasta Pafos, hallaron un hombre sabio, falso profeta, judío, llamado Barjesús;
7 el cual estaba con el procónsul Sergio Paulo, varón prudente. Este, llamando a Bernabé y a Saulo, deseaba oír la Palabra de Dios.
8 Pero les resistía Elimas, el sabio (que así se interpreta su nombre), procurando apartar de la fe al procónsul.
9 Entonces Saulo, que también es Pablo, lleno del Espíritu Santo, poniendo en él los ojos,
10 dijo: Oh, lleno de todo engaño y de todo libertinaje, hijo del diablo, enemigo de toda justicia, ¿no cesarás de trastornar los caminos rectos del Señor?
11 Ahora pues, he aquí la mano del Señor está contra ti, y quedarás ciego, y no verás el sol por algún tiempo. Y luego cayeron en él oscuridad y tinieblas; y andando alrededor, buscaba quién le diera la mano.
12 Entonces el procónsul, viendo lo que había sido hecho, creyó, maravillado de la doctrina del Señor.
13 Y zarpados de Pafos, Pablo y sus compañeros arribaron a Perge de Panfilia; entonces Juan, apartándose de ellos, se volvió a Jerusalén.
14 ¶ Y ellos pasando de Perge, llegaron a Antioquía de Pisidia, y entrando en la sinagoga un día de sábado, se sentaron.
15 Y después de la lectura de la ley y de los profetas, los príncipes de la sinagoga enviaron a ellos, diciendo: Varones hermanos, si hay en vosotros alguna palabra de exhortación para el pueblo, hablad.
16 Entonces Pablo, levantándose, hecha señal de silencio con la mano, dice: Varones israelitas, y los que teméis a Dios, oíd:
17 El Dios de este pueblo de Israel escogió a nuestros padres, y ensalzó al pueblo, siendo ellos extranjeros en la tierra de Egipto, y con brazo levantado los sacó de ella.
18 Y por tiempo como de cuarenta años soportó sus costumbres en el desierto;
19 y destruyendo las siete naciones en la tierra de Canaán, les repartió por suerte la tierra de ellas.
20 Y después, como por cuatrocientos cincuenta años, les dio jueces hasta el profeta Samuel.
21 Y entonces demandaron rey; y Dios les dio a Saúl, hijo de Cis, varón de la tribu de Benjamín, por cuarenta años.
22 Y quitado aquel, les levantó por rey a David, del que dio también testimonio, diciendo: He hallado a David, hijo de Jessé, varón conforme a mi corazón, el cual hará todo lo que yo quiero.
23 De la simiente de éste, Dios, conforme a la promesa, levantó a Jesús por Salvador a Israel;
24 predicando Juan delante de la faz de su venida el bautismo de arrepentimiento a todo el pueblo de Israel.
25 Mas cuando Juan cumpliera su carrera, dijo: ¿Quién pensáis que soy? No soy yo él; mas he aquí, viene tras mí uno, cuyo calzado de los pies no soy digno de desatar.
26 Varones hermanos, hijos del linaje de Abraham, y los que entre vosotros temen a Dios, a vosotros es enviada esta Palabra de salud.
27 Porque los que habitaban en Jerusalén, y sus príncipes, no conociendo a éste, y las voces de los profetas que se leen todos los sábados, condenándolo, las cumplieron.
28 Y sin hallar en él causa de muerte, pidieron a Pilato que le matara.
29 Y habiendo cumplido todas las cosas que de él estaban escritas, quitándolo del madero, lo pusieron en el sepulcro.
30 Mas Dios le levantó de los muertos.
31 Y él fue visto por muchos días de los que habían subido juntamente con él de Galilea a Jerusalén, los cuales hasta ahora son sus testigos al pueblo.
32 Y nosotros también os anunciamos el Evangelio de aquella promesa que fue hecha a los padres,
33 la cual Dios ha cumplido a los hijos de ellos, a nosotros, resucitando a Jesús; como también en el salmo segundo está escrito: Mi hijo eres tú, yo te engendré hoy.
34 Y que le levantó de los muertos para nunca más volver a corrupción, así lo dijo: Os daré las misericordias fieles prometidas a David.
35 Por eso dice también en otro lugar: No permitirás que tu Santo vea corrupción.
36 Porque a la verdad David, habiendo servido en su generación a la voluntad de Dios, durmió, y fue juntado con sus padres, y vio corrupción.
37 Mas aquel a quien Dios levantó, no vio corrupción.
38 Os sea pues notorio, varones hermanos, que por éste os es anunciada remisión de pecados,
39 y de todo lo que por la ley de Moisés no pudisteis ser justificados, en éste es justificado todo aquel que creyere.
40 Mirad, pues, que no venga sobre vosotros lo que está dicho en los profetas:
41 Mirad, oh menospreciadores, y entonteceos, y desvaneceos; porque yo hago una obra en vuestros días, obra que no creeréis, si alguien os la contare.
42 ¶ Y saliendo ellos de la sinagoga de los judíos, los gentiles les rogaron que el sábado siguiente les hablaran estas palabras.
43 Y despedida la sinagoga, muchos de los judíos y de los religiosos prosélitos siguieron a Pablo y a Bernabé; los cuales hablándoles, les persuadían que permanecieran en la gracia de Dios.
44 Y el sábado siguiente se juntó casi toda la ciudad a oír la Palabra de Dios.
45 Pero los judíos, vista la multitud, se llenaron de celo, y se oponían a lo que Pablo decía, contradiciendo y blasfemando.
46 Entonces Pablo y Bernabé, usando de libertad, dijeron: A vosotros a la verdad era necesario que se os hablara la palabra de Dios; pero como la desecháis, y os juzgáis indignos de la vida eterna, he aquí, nos volvemos a los gentiles.
47 Porque así nos mandó el Señor, diciendo: Te he puesto para luz de los gentiles, para que seas por salud hasta lo postrero de la tierra.
48 Y los gentiles oyendo esto, se fueron gozosos, y glorificaban la palabra del Señor; y creyeron todos los que estaban ordenados para vida eterna.
49 Y la palabra del Señor era esparcida por toda aquella provincia.
50 Mas los judíos incitaron a mujeres pías y honestas, y a los principales de la ciudad, y levantaron persecución contra Pablo y Bernabé, y los echaron de sus términos.
51 Entonces sacudiendo en ellos el polvo de sus pies, vinieron a Iconio.
52 Y los discípulos estaban llenos de gozo, y del Espíritu Santo.

13 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:
7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him.
10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
13 Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
16 Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
17 The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
18 And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
19 And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
20 And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
21 And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
24 When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30 But God raised him from the dead:
31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
49 And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
51 But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
