¹²Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, “You have appealed to Caesar? To Caesar you shall go!”

¹²After Festus had conferred with his council, he declared: “You have appealed to Caesar. To Caesar you will go!”

²⁵But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself hath appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.

²⁵But when I found that ^(A)he had committed nothing deserving of death, ^(B)and that he himself had appealed to Augustus, I decided to send him.

²⁵I found he had done nothing deserving of death,^(A) but because he made his appeal to the Emperor^(B) I decided to send him to Rome.
