5 (A)И тъй, отстоявайте свободата, която Христос ни дари, и не се подлагайте отново под робско иго. 2 Ето аз, Павел, ви казвам: ако се обрежете, Христос с нищо няма да ви бъде полезен. 3 (B)И пак напомням на всеки човек, който се обреже: той е длъжен да изпълни целия закон. 4 Вие, които искате да се оправдаете чрез закона, се отметнахте от Христос, отпаднахте от благодатта, 5 а ние се надяваме и очакваме чрез Духа оправдаване заради вярата си. 6 (C)Защото за последователите на Иисус Христос нито обрязването има сила, нито необрязването, а вярата, която действа чрез любов.
7 Вие бяхте на прав път. Кой ви накара да не се покорявате на истината? 8 Този, който ви разубеждава, не е Онзи, Който ви призовава. 9 (D)Малко квас заквасва цялото тесто. 10 (E)Аз имам вяра във вас чрез Господа, че няма да се подведете. И онзи, който ви смущава – който и да е той, – ще понесе присъда. 11 (F)А за какво още ме преследват, братя, ако аз и сега проповядвам обрязване? Тогава би отпаднало негодуванието[a] заради кръста. 12 Да бяха се скопили онези, които ви заблуждават!
Плодът на Духа и делата на плътта
13 (G)Към свобода сте призовани вие, братя. Само че свободата да не става повод за угода на плътта, а с любов служете един на друг. 14 (H)Защото целият закон се изпълнява в едно изречение: „Обичай ближния си като самия себе си.“ 15 Ако пък един друг се хапете и се ядете, пазете се да не би един друг да се изтребите.
16 (I)Затова казвам: живейте според изискванията на Духа и няма да изпълнявате прищевките на плътта. 17 (J)Защото плътта желае противното на Духа, а Духът – противното на плътта. Те се противят един на друг, за да не правите онова, което бихте пожелали. 18 Ако живеете според Духа, вие не сте под закона. 19 (K)Делата на плътта са известни. Те са: прелюбодейство[b], блудство, нечистота, разпътство, 20 идолослужение, магии, вражди, свади, ревност, гняв, разпри, разногласия, разцепления, 21 завист, убийства[c], пиянство, оргии и други подобни. Казвал съм ви и пак ви казвам: които вършат това, няма да наследят Божието царство. 22 (L)А плодът на Духа е: любов, радост, мир, дълготърпение, благост, милосърдие, вяра, 23 (M)кротост, въздържание. Против такива няма закон. 24 (N)Онези, които са Христови последователи, са разпънали плътта си заедно с нейните страсти и похоти. 25 (O)Ако живеем според Духа, според Духа сме длъжни и да постъпваме. 26 Да не се стремим към преходна слава, да не се дразним един друг и да не си завиждаме.

16 Казвам ви: нека Духът ви направлява и тогава няма да следвате желанията на грешната си природа. 17 Защото това, което грешната ни природа желае, е против Духа и това, което Духът желае, е против грешната ни природа. Това са две напълно противоположни неща, следователно не може да правите каквото си поискате. 18 Но ако ви направлява Духът, вие не сте подчинени на закона.
19 Делата на нашата грешна природа са добре известни. Това са блудство, нечистота, похотливост, 20 идолопоклонство, магьосничество, омраза, свади, ревност, гняв, разпри, разногласия, разцепления, 21 завист, пиянство, оргии и други подобни. Freedom in Christ
5 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.(A) Stand firm,(B) then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.(C)
2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised,(D) Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.(E) 4 You who are trying to be justified by the law(F) have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.(G) 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.(H) 6 For in Christ Jesus(I) neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value.(J) The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.(K)
7 You were running a good race.(L) Who cut in on you(M) to keep you from obeying the truth? 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.(N) 9 “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.”(O) 10 I am confident(P) in the Lord that you will take no other view.(Q) The one who is throwing you into confusion,(R) whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty. 11 Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted?(S) In that case the offense(T) of the cross has been abolished. 12 As for those agitators,(U) I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!
Life by the Spirit
13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.(V) But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a];(W) rather, serve one another(X) humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b](Y) 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit,(Z) and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.(AA) 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh.(AB) They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want.(AC) 18 But if you are led by the Spirit,(AD) you are not under the law.(AE)
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality,(AF) impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.(AG) I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.(AH)
22 But the fruit(AI) of the Spirit is love,(AJ) joy, peace,(AK) forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.(AL) Against such things there is no law.(AM) 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh(AN) with its passions and desires.(AO) 25 Since we live by the Spirit,(AP) let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited,(AQ) provoking and envying each other.

5 Till denna frihet har Kristus gjort oss fria. Stå därför fasta och låt er inte på nytt tvingas in under slavoket. 2 Se, jag Paulus säger er att om ni låter omskära er, kommer Kristus inte att vara till någon hjälp för er.[a] 3 Jag försäkrar er än en gång: var och en som låter omskära sig är skyldig att hålla hela lagen. 4 Ni har kommit bort ifrån Kristus, ni som försöker bli rättfärdiga genom lagen. Ni har fallit ur nåden. 5 Vi däremot väntar i Anden genom tron på den rättfärdighet som är vårt hopp. 6 Ty i Kristus Jesus beror det inte på om vi är omskurna eller oomskurna, utan om vi har en tro som är verksam i kärlek.
7 Ni började bra. Vem har nu hindrat er, så att ni inte längre lyder sanningen? 8 Till det har ni inte blivit övertalade av honom som kallade er. 9 Lite surdeg syrar hela degen. 10 Jag för min del litar i Herren på att ni inte skall vara av annan mening. Men den som skapar förvirring bland er skall få sin dom, vem han än är. 11 Bröder, om jag fortfarande predikade omskärelse, varför skulle jag då bli förföljd? Då vore korsets anstöt borta. 12 De som uppviglar er borde gå och stympa sig.
13 Ni är kallade till frihet, bröder. Använd bara inte friheten så att den onda naturen får något tillfälle, utan tjäna varandra i kärlek. 14 Ty hela lagen är uppfylld i detta enda budord: Du skall älska din nästa som dig själv. [b] 15 Men om ni biter och sliter i varandra, se då till att ni inte blir uppslukade av varandra.
Köttets gärningar och Andens frukt
16 Vad jag vill säga är detta: vandra i Anden, så kommer ni inte att göra vad köttet begär. 17 Ty köttet söker det som är emot Anden och Anden söker det som är emot köttet. De två strider mot varandra för att hindra er att göra det ni vill. 18 Men om ni leds av Anden, står ni inte under lagen. 19 Köttets gärningar är uppenbara: de är otukt, orenhet, lösaktighet, 20 avgudadyrkan, svartkonst, fiendskap, kiv, avund, vredesutbrott, gräl, splittringar, villoläror, 21 illvilja, fylleri, utsvävningar och annat sådant. Jag säger er i förväg vad jag redan har sagt: de som lever så skall inte ärva Guds rike.
22 Andens frukt däremot är kärlek, glädje, frid, tålamod, vänlighet, godhet, 23 trohet, mildhet och självbehärskning. Sådant är lagen inte emot.[c] 24 De som tillhör Kristus Jesus har korsfäst sitt kött med dess lidelser och begär. 25 Om vi har liv genom Anden, låt oss då även följa Anden. 26 Låt oss inte söka tom ära, inte utmana varandra och inte avundas varandra.

2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
