Второзаконие 25

25 Если у людей возникнет тяжба, они должны представить дело в суд, и судьи будут рассматривать его, оправдывая невиновного и осуждая виновного. 2 Если виновный заслуживает побоев, то пусть судья велит положить его и бичевать в своём присутствии столько раз, сколько заслуживает его преступление, 3 но не больше сорока ударов. Если ты будешь бичевать его больше, твой брат будет опозорен на глазах у всех.
4 Не закрывай рта молотящему волу.
5 Если братья живут вместе и один из них умрёт, не оставив сына, то его вдова не должна выходить замуж за чужого человека. Пусть брат её умершего мужа возьмёт её, женится на ней и исполнит перед ней долг деверя. 6 Первый сын, которого она родит, унаследует имя умершего брата, чтобы его имя не исчезло в Исраиле.
7 Но если мужчина не захочет жениться на жене своего брата, то пусть она пойдёт к старейшинам у городских ворот и скажет: «Брат моего мужа отказывается восстановить имя своего брата в Исраиле. Он не хочет исполнить свой долг деверя». 8 Тогда старейшины города призовут его и поговорят с ним. Если он будет упорствовать, говоря: «Я не хочу жениться на ней», 9 то пусть вдова его брата подойдёт к нему в присутствии старейшин, снимет одну из его сандалий, плюнет ему в лицо и скажет: «Вот, как поступают с человеком, который не созидает дом своему брату». 10 Потомство этого человека будет известно в Исраиле как «семья разутого».
11 Если двое мужчин дерутся, а жена одного из них придёт, чтобы вступиться за своего мужа перед тем, кто его бьёт, протянет руку и схватит другого за половые органы, 12 то отсеки ей руку. Не жалей её.
13 Пусть не будет у тебя в сумке двух разных гирь – одной тяжёлой, для покупки, а другой лёгкой, для продажи. 14 Пусть не будет у тебя в доме разных мерок – одной большой, а другой маленькой. 15 Пусть твои гири и мерки будут точные и правильные, чтобы тебе долго жить на земле, которую Вечный, твой Бог, даёт тебе. 16 Ведь Вечному, твоему Богу, отвратителен всякий, кто делает такие дела, всякий, кто поступает нечестно.
17 Помни, что сделали тебе амаликитяне на пути, когда вы шли из Египта. 18 Когда ты был усталым и утомлённым, они встретили тебя на пути и перебили всех ослабевших, идущих за тобой; они не побоялись Всевышнего. 19 Когда Вечный, твой Бог, дарует тебе покой от всех врагов вокруг тебя в земле, которую Он отдаёт тебе во владение как наследие, сотри память об Амалике из-под небес. 25 «Если два человека вступили в спор, то пусть идут в суд, и пусть судьи рассудят, кто прав, а кто виноват. 2 И если судья решит, что кого-то следует бить кнутом, то пусть велит тому человеку лечь лицом вниз, и пусть виновного бьют кнутом, а судья наблюдает. Количество же ударов будет зависеть от провинности. 3 Но никогда не наноси никому более сорок ударов, потому что если нанесёшь человеку более сорок ударов, то это значит, что жизнь того человека не имеет для тебя значения.
4 Если ставишь вола молотить зерно, не закрывай ему рот, чтобы помешать ему есть.
5 Если два брата живут вместе и один умрёт, не имея сына, то жену умершего не выдавай замуж за члена другой семьи, пусть брат мужа возьмёт её в жёны и имеет с ней половые сношения,—это долг мужчины по отношению к жене умершего брата. 6 В этом случае первый ребёнок, который у неё родится, займёт место умершего брата того человека, чтобы имя умершего брата не исчезло в Израиле. 7 Если же кто не захочет взять жену брата, то пусть жена брата пойдёт на площадь к старейшинам города и пусть скажет старейшинам: „Брат моего мужа отказывается сохранить имя своего брата в Израиле, не хочет исполнять обязанности брата мужа моего и жениться на мне”. 8 Пусть тогда старейшины города позовут того человека и поговорят с ним. Если тот человек заупрямится и скажет: „Я не хочу брать её”, 9 пусть его невестка подойдёт к нему перед старейшинами, снимет у него с ноги сандалий, плюнет ему в лицо и скажет: „Так поступают с каждым, кто отказывается дать своему брату сына!” 10 И семья того человека будет тогда известна в Израиле как „семья разутого”.
11 Если подерутся двое и жена одного из них придёт на помощь мужу, пусть не хватает другого за половой орган, 12 а если она сделает так, то отруби ей руку и не жалей её.
13 Не пользуйся слишком тяжёлыми или слишком лёгкими гирями 14 и не имей у себя в доме слишком большую или слишком маленькую меру, 15 пользуйся только точными и правильными весами и мерами и тогда будешь долго жить на земле, которую Господь, Бог твой, даёт тебе. 16 Господу, Богу твоему, ненавистны обманщики, пользующиеся неправильными весами и мерами, Ему ненавистны поступающие неправедно».
Истребите амаликитян
17 «Помни, как поступил с тобой народ Амалика, когда ты шёл из Египта. 18 Амаликитяне не почитали Бога, они напали на тебя, когда ты был слаб и устал, и убили всех, кто шёл медленно и отстал. 19 Потому сотри память об амаликитянах с лица земли, когда войдёшь в землю, которую Господь, Бог твой, даёт тебе, там, где Он даст тебе отдых от всех врагов вокруг тебя. Не забудь истребить амаликитян!»

25 “If there is a (A)dispute between men and they come into court and the judges decide between them, (B)acquitting the innocent and condemning the guilty, 2 then if the guilty man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall cause him to lie down and be beaten in his presence with a number of stripes in proportion to his offense. 3 (C)Forty stripes may be given him, but not more, lest, if one should go on to beat him with more stripes than these, your brother be degraded in your sight.
4 (D)“You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain.
Laws Concerning Levirate Marriage
5 (E)“If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead man shall not be married outside the family to a stranger. Her (F)husband's brother shall go in to her and take her as his wife and perform the duty of a husband's brother to her. 6 And the first son whom she bears shall succeed to the name of his dead brother, that (G)his name may not be blotted out of Israel. 7 And if the man does not wish to take his brother's wife, then his brother's wife shall (H)go up to the gate to the elders and say, ‘My husband's brother refuses to perpetuate his brother's name in Israel; he will not perform the duty of a husband's brother to me.’ 8 Then the elders of his city shall call him and speak to him, and if he persists, saying, (I)‘I do not wish to take her,’ 9 then his brother's wife shall go up to him in the presence of the elders and (J)pull his sandal off his foot and (K)spit in his face. And she shall answer and say, ‘So shall it be done to the man who does not (L)build up his brother's house.’ 10 And the name of his house[a] shall be called in Israel, ‘The house of him who had his sandal pulled off.’

11 “When men fight with one another and the wife of the one draws near to rescue her husband from the hand of him who is beating him and puts out her hand and seizes him by the private parts, 12 then you shall cut off her hand. (M)Your eye shall have no pity.
13 “You (N)shall not have in your bag two kinds of weights, a large and a small. 14 You shall not have in your house two kinds of measures, a large and a small. 15 A full and fair[b] weight you shall have, a full and fair measure you shall have, (O)that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. 16 For (P)all who do such things, all who act dishonestly, (Q)are an abomination to the Lord your God.
17 (R)“Remember what Amalek did to you (S)on the way as you came out of Egypt, 18 how he attacked you on the way when you were faint and weary, and (T)cut off your tail, those who were lagging behind you, and he did not fear God. 19 Therefore (U)when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies around you, in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance to possess, you shall (V)blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget.

25 If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
2 And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
3 Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee.
4 Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.
5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.
6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
7 And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.
8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;
9 Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house.
10 And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.
11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:
12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.
13 Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.
14 Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small.
15 But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the Lord thy God.
17 Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.
19 Therefore it shall be, when the Lord thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
