О единственном месте для поклонения Всевышнему
12 Вот установления и законы, которым вы должны старательно следовать все дни, пока вы будете жить на земле, которую Вечный, Бог ваших предков, отдал вам во владение. 2 Полностью уничтожьте все места, где народы, которых вы выселяете, служат своим богам: на высоких горах, на холмах и под тенистыми деревьями. 3 Разрушьте их жертвенники, расколите священные камни и сожгите в огне столбы Ашеры. Разбейте истуканы их богов и сотрите в тех местах всякую память о них.
4 Вы не должны служить Вечному, вашему Богу так, как они служат своим богам. 5 Вы должны искать Вечного, вашего Бога, лишь на том месте, которое Он выберет среди всех ваших родов для поклонения Ему. Туда вы и должны приходить, 6 туда приносите всесожжения и жертвы, десятины и особые дары, посвящённые по обету, добровольные приношения и первородное ваших стад и отар. 7 Там, в присутствии Вечного, вашего Бога, вы и ваши семьи будете есть и радоваться всему, что сотворят ваши руки, потому что Вечный, ваш Бог, благословил вас.
8 Вы не должны поступать так, как мы поступаем сегодня, – каждый, как ему кажется верным, 9 потому что вы ещё не достигли мест покоя и наследия, которое Вечный, ваш Бог, даёт вам. 10 Но вы перейдёте Иордан и поселитесь в земле, которую Вечный, ваш Бог, отдаёт вам в наследие, и Он даст вам покой от всех врагов вокруг вас, чтобы вы жили в безопасности.
11 Тогда к месту, которое Вечный, ваш Бог, выберет для поклонения Ему, вы должны приносить всё, что я повелеваю вам: всесожжения и жертвы, десятины и особые дары, всё лучшее из имущества, что вы посвятили Вечному по обету. 12 Веселитесь там перед Вечным, вашим Богом, вы, ваши сыновья и дочери, слуги и служанки, левиты из ваших городов, у которых нет ни собственного надела, ни наследия. 13 Берегитесь, не приносите всесожжения там, где вам заблагорассудится. 14 Приносите жертвы только в том месте, которое Вечный выберет в одном из ваших родов, и там соблюдайте всё, что я повелеваю вам.
Об употреблении мяса
15 Впрочем, вы можете закалывать скот в любом из городов и есть столько мяса, сколько вам хочется по благословению, которое Вечный, ваш Бог, даёт вам, как если бы это было мясо газели или оленя. Все люди, ритуально нечистые и чистые, могут есть его. 16 Но вы не должны есть кровь. Выливайте её на землю, как воду. 17 Вы не должны есть у себя в городах десятины от зерна, молодого вина и масла, первородное ваших стад и отар, добровольные приношения, особые дары или всё то, что вы посвятили по обету. 18 Всё это вы должны есть в присутствии Вечного, вашего Бога, на том месте, которое Вечный, ваш Бог, укажет вам – все вы, ваши сыновья и дочери, слуги и служанки, левиты из ваших городов – есть и радоваться перед Вечным, вашим Богом, всему, что сделали ваши руки. 19 Смотрите, не пренебрегайте левитами, когда будете жить в своей земле.
20 Когда Вечный, ваш Бог, расширит границы ваших земель, как Он и обещал вам, и вы захотите мясного и скажете: «Съем-ка я мяса», то тогда можете есть столько, сколько захотите. 21 Если место, которое Вечный, твой Бог, выберет для поклонения Ему, будет слишком далеко от вас – можете закалывать скот из стад и отар, которые дал вам Вечный, и есть столько, сколько захотите у себя в городах, как я повелел вам. 22 Ешьте их, как если бы это были газель или олень. И нечистый, и чистый человек может есть их.
Запрет употреблять в пищу кровь
23 Но не ешьте кровь, потому что кровь – это жизнь, и вы не должны есть жизнь вместе с мясом. 24 Вы не должны есть кровь; выливайте её на землю, как воду. 25 Не ешьте её, и тогда с вами и с вашими детьми всё будет благополучно, потому что это будет правильно в глазах Вечного.
26 Берите посвящённые вещи и то, что вы обещали отдать по обету, и приходите туда, куда укажет Вечный. 27 Приносите свои всесожжения – и мясо, и кровь – на жертвенник Вечного, своего Бога. Кровь жертв вы должны выливать у жертвенника[a] Вечного, вашего Бога, а мясо можете съесть. 28 Смотрите, следуйте всем установлениям, которые я даю вам, и тогда с вами и с вашими детьми всегда всё будет благополучно, потому что это правильно в глазах Вечного, вашего Бога.
Предупреждение об идолослужении
29 Вечный, ваш Бог, искоренит перед вами народы, которые вы собираетесь завоёвывать и выселять. Но когда вы прогоните их и поселитесь на их земле, 30 когда все они будут истреблены, тогда будьте осторожны и не угодите в западню, не интересуйтесь их богами и не говорите: «Как эти народы служат своим богам? Я буду делать точно так же». 31 Вы не должны служить Вечному, вашему Богу, так, как они служат своим богам, потому что они творят всевозможные мерзости, которые Вечный ненавидит. Они даже сжигают своих сыновей и дочерей в огне как жертву своим богам.
32 Смотрите, не делайте то, что я запрещаю вам. Не прибавляйте к этому ничего и ничего не убавляйте.

12 »Estos son los preceptos y las normas que tendréis cuidado de poner en práctica mientras viváis en la tierra que el Señor y Dios de vuestros antepasados os ha dado en posesión: 2 Destruiréis por completo todos los lugares donde adoran a sus dioses las naciones que vosotros vais a desposeer, es decir, en las montañas, en las colinas y debajo de todo árbol frondoso.
3 »Demoleréis sus altares, haréis pedazos sus piedras sagradas, les prenderéis fuego a sus imágenes de la diosa Aserá, derribaréis sus ídolos y borraréis de esos lugares los nombres de sus dioses.
4 »No haréis lo mismo con el Señor vuestro Dios, 5 sino que iréis y lo buscaréis en el lugar donde, de entre todas vuestras tribus, él decida habitar.[a] 6 Allí llevaréis vosotros vuestros holocaustos, sacrificios, diezmos, contribuciones, promesas, ofrendas voluntarias, y los primogénitos de vuestros ganados y rebaños. 7 Allí, en la presencia del Señor vuestro Dios, vosotros y vuestras familias comeréis y os regocijaréis por los logros de vuestro trabajo, porque el Señor vuestro Dios os habrá bendecido.
8 »Vosotros no haréis allí lo que ahora hacemos aquí, donde cada uno hace lo que mejor le parece, 9 pues todavía no habéis entrado en el reposo ni en la herencia que os da el Señor vuestro Dios. 10 Pero vosotros cruzaréis el río Jordán y viviréis en la tierra que el Señor vuestro Dios os da en herencia; él os librará de vuestros enemigos que os rodean, y viviréis seguros. 11 Y al lugar donde el Señor vuestro Dios decida habitar llevaréis todo lo que os he ordenado: holocaustos, sacrificios, diezmos, contribuciones, y las ofrendas más selectas que le hayáis prometido al Señor. 12 Y os regocijaréis en la presencia del Señor vuestro Dios, junto con vuestros hijos e hijas, con vuestros esclavos y esclavas, y con los levitas que vivan en vuestras ciudades, pues ellos no tendrán ninguna posesión ni herencia.
13 »Cuando ofrezcas holocaustos, cuídate de no hacerlo en el lugar que te plazca. 14 Los ofrecerás solo en el lugar que el Señor elija en una de tus tribus, y allí harás todo lo que yo te ordeno. 15 Sin embargo, siempre que lo desees podrás matar animales y comer su carne en cualquiera de tus ciudades, según el Señor tu Dios te haya bendecido. Podrás comerla, estés o no ritualmente puro, como si se tratara de carne de gacela o de ciervo. 16 Pero no deberás comer la sangre, sino que la derramarás en la tierra como si fuera agua.
17 »No podrás comer en tus ciudades el diezmo de tu trigo, de tu vino o de tu aceite, ni los primogénitos de tus ganados y de tus rebaños, ni lo que hayas prometido dar, ni tus ofrendas voluntarias ni tus contribuciones. 18 Disfrutarás de ellos en presencia del Señor tu Dios, en el lugar que él elija. Así también lo harán tu hijo y tu hija, tu esclavo y tu esclava, y los levitas que vivan en tus ciudades, y te alegrarás ante el Señor tu Dios por los logros de tu trabajo. 19 Cuídate de no abandonar al levita mientras vivas en tu tierra.
20 »Cuando el Señor tu Dios haya extendido tu territorio, según te lo ha prometido, y digas: “¡Cómo quisiera comer carne!”, podrás comer toda la carne que quieras. 21 Si queda demasiado lejos el lugar donde el Señor tu Dios decida habitar,[b] podrás sacrificar animales de tus ganados y rebaños, según mis instrucciones, y comer en tus pueblos todo lo que quieras. 22 Come de su carne como si fuera carne de gacela o de ciervo. Estés o no ritualmente puro, podrás comerla. 23 Pero asegúrate de no comer la sangre, porque la sangre es la vida. No debes comer la vida con la carne. 24 En lugar de comerla, derrámala en la tierra como si fuera agua. 25 No comas la sangre, para que te vaya bien a ti y a tu descendencia, pues estarás haciendo lo recto a los ojos del Señor.
26 »Las cosas que hayas consagrado, y las ofrendas que hayas prometido, prepáralas y llévalas al lugar que el Señor habrá de elegir. 27 Tanto la carne como la sangre de tus holocaustos las ofrecerás sobre el altar del Señor tu Dios. Derramarás la sangre sobre el altar, pero podrás comer la carne.
28 »Ten cuidado de obedecer todos estos mandamientos que yo te he dado, para que siempre te vaya bien, lo mismo que a tu descendencia. Así habrás hecho lo bueno y lo recto a los ojos del Señor tu Dios.
29 »Ante tus propios ojos, el Señor tu Dios exterminará a las naciones que vas a invadir y desposeer. Cuando las hayas expulsado y te hayas establecido en su tierra, 30 después de haberlas destruido cuídate de no seguir su ejemplo y caer en la trampa de inquirir acerca de sus dioses. No preguntes: “¿Cómo adoraban estas naciones a sus dioses, para que yo pueda hacer lo mismo?” 31 No adorarás de esa manera al Señor tu Dios, porque al Señor le resulta abominable todo lo que ellos hacen para honrar a sus dioses. ¡Hasta quemaban a sus hijos e hijas en el fuego como sacrificios a sus dioses!
32 »Cuídate de poner en práctica todo lo que te ordeno, sin añadir ni quitar nada.

The One Place of Worship
12 These are the decrees(A) and laws you must be careful to follow in the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you to possess—as long as you live in the land.(B) 2 Destroy completely all the places on the high mountains,(C) on the hills and under every spreading tree,(D) where the nations you are dispossessing worship their gods. 3 Break down their altars, smash(E) their sacred stones and burn(F) their Asherah(G) poles in the fire; cut down the idols of their gods and wipe out their names(H) from those places.
4 You must not worship the Lord your God in their way.(I) 5 But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name(J) there for his dwelling.(K) To that place you must go; 6 there bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes(L) and special gifts, what you have vowed(M) to give and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks.(N) 7 There, in the presence(O) of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice(P) in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you.
8 You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit,(Q) 9 since you have not yet reached the resting place(R) and the inheritance(S) the Lord your God is giving you. 10 But you will cross the Jordan and settle in the land the Lord your God is giving(T) you as an inheritance, and he will give you rest(U) from all your enemies around you so that you will live in safety. 11 Then to the place the Lord your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name(V)—there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, and all the choice possessions you have vowed to the Lord.(W) 12 And there rejoice(X) before the Lord your God—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites(Y) from your towns who have no allotment or inheritance(Z) of their own. 13 Be careful not to sacrifice your burnt offerings anywhere you please.(AA) 14 Offer them only at the place the Lord will choose(AB) in one of your tribes, and there observe everything I command you.
15 Nevertheless, you may slaughter your animals in any of your towns and eat as much of the meat as you want, as if it were gazelle or deer,(AC) according to the blessing the Lord your God gives you. Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat it. 16 But you must not eat the blood;(AD) pour(AE) it out on the ground like water.(AF) 17 You must not eat in your own towns the tithe(AG) of your grain and new wine and olive oil,(AH) or the firstborn of your herds and flocks, or whatever you have vowed to give,(AI) or your freewill offerings or special gifts.(AJ) 18 Instead, you are to eat(AK) them in the presence of the Lord your God at the place the Lord your God will choose(AL)—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites from your towns—and you are to rejoice(AM) before the Lord your God in everything you put your hand to. 19 Be careful not to neglect the Levites(AN) as long as you live in your land.(AO)
20 When the Lord your God has enlarged your territory(AP) as he promised(AQ) you, and you crave meat(AR) and say, “I would like some meat,” then you may eat as much of it as you want. 21 If the place where the Lord your God chooses to put his Name(AS) is too far away from you, you may slaughter animals from the herds and flocks the Lord has given you, as I have commanded you, and in your own towns you may eat as much of them as you want.(AT) 22 Eat them as you would gazelle or deer.(AU) Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat. 23 But be sure you do not eat the blood,(AV) because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat.(AW) 24 You must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water.(AX) 25 Do not eat it, so that it may go well(AY) with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is right(AZ) in the eyes of the Lord.
26 But take your consecrated things and whatever you have vowed to give,(BA) and go to the place the Lord will choose. 27 Present your burnt offerings(BB) on the altar of the Lord your God, both the meat and the blood. The blood of your sacrifices must be poured beside the altar of the Lord your God, but you may eat(BC) the meat. 28 Be careful to obey all these regulations I am giving you, so that it may always go well(BD) with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord your God.
29 The Lord your God will cut off(BE) before you the nations you are about to invade and dispossess. But when you have driven them out and settled in their land,(BF) 30 and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared(BG) by inquiring about their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same.”(BH) 31 You must not worship the Lord your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the Lord hates.(BI) They even burn their sons(BJ) and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.(BK)
32 See that you do all I command you; do not add(BL) to it or take away from it.[a]

12 These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the Lord God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.
2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
3 And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.
4 Ye shall not do so unto the Lord your God.
5 But unto the place which the Lord your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
6 And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:
7 And there ye shall eat before the Lord your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the Lord thy God hath blessed thee.
8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
9 For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God giveth you.
10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the Lord your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
11 Then there shall be a place which the Lord your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the Lord:
12 And ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.
13 Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:
14 But in the place which the Lord shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.
15 Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.
16 Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.
17 Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand:
18 But thou must eat them before the Lord thy God in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.
19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.
20 When the Lord thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
21 If the place which the Lord thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the Lord hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
22 Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike.
23 Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.
24 Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.
25 Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.
26 Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which the Lord shall choose:
27 And thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the Lord thy God: and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the Lord thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh.
28 Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the Lord thy God.
29 When the Lord thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;
30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
31 Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every abomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
