12 Господь сказал Авраму:
– Оставь свою страну, свой народ и отцовский дом и иди в землю, которую Я тебе укажу.
2 Я произведу от тебя великий народ
и благословлю тебя;
Я возвеличу твое имя,
и ты будешь благословением.
3 Я благословлю тех, кто благословляет тебя,
и прокляну того, кто проклинает тебя;
и через тебя получат благословение
все народы на земле.
4 И Аврам отправился в путь, как сказал ему Бог, и Лот пошел вместе с ним. Авраму было семьдесят пять лет, когда он ушел из Харрана. 5 Он взял с собой жену Сару, племянника Лота, все имущество, которое они нажили, и людей, которых они приобрели в Харране. 10 На земле был голод, и Аврам направился жить в Египет, потому что голод был очень силен. 11 Когда они подходили к Египту, он сказал жене Саре:
– Я знаю, что ты красивая женщина. 12 Когда египтяне увидят тебя, они скажут: «Это его жена» – и убьют меня, а тебя оставят в живых. 13 Скажи, что ты моя сестра, чтобы ради тебя меня приняли хорошо и, благодаря тебе, я остался бы жив.
14 Когда Аврам пришел в Египет, египтяне увидели, что Сара очень красива, 15 а когда ее увидели придворные фараона, они расхвалили ее фараону, и Сару взяли к нему во дворец. 16 Он хорошо принял Аврама ради нее, и Аврам приобрел мелкий и крупный скот, ослов и ослиц, слуг и служанок, и верблюдов.
17 Но Господь поразил фараона и весь его дом тяжелыми болезнями из-за Аврамовой жены Сары. 18 Тогда фараон призвал Аврама и спросил:
– Что ты сделал со мной? Почему ты не сказал мне, что она – твоя жена? 19 Зачем ты сказал: «Она моя сестра»? Только из-за этого я взял ее себе в жены. Вот твоя жена. Забирай ее и уходи!
20 Фараон распорядился, и его люди отправили Аврама в дорогу вместе с женой и всем, что у него было.

12 Un día el Señor le dijo a Abram: «Deja tu tierra, tus parientes y la casa de tu padre, para ir a la tierra que yo te voy a mostrar. 2 Con tus descendientes voy a formar una gran nación; voy a bendecirte y hacerte famoso, y serás una bendición para otros. 3 Bendeciré a los que te bendigan y maldeciré a los que te maldigan; por medio de ti bendeciré a todas las familias del mundo.»
4 Abram salió de Harán tal como el Señor se lo había ordenado. Tenía setenta y cinco años cuando salió de allá para ir a la tierra de Canaán. 5 Con él se llevó a su esposa Sarai y a su sobrino Lot, y también todas las cosas que tenían y la gente que habían adquirido en Harán. Cuando llegaron a Canaán, 6 Abram atravesó toda esa región hasta llegar a Siquem, donde está la encina sagrada de Moré. Los cananeos vivían entonces en aquella región. 7 Allí el Señor se le apareció y le dijo: «Esta tierra se la voy a dar a tu descendencia.»
Entonces Abram construyó un altar en honor del Señor, porque allí se le había aparecido. 8 Luego se fue a la región montañosa que está al este de la ciudad de Betel, y allí puso su campamento. Betel quedaba al oeste de donde él había acampado, y la ciudad de Ai al este. En ese lugar Abram construyó otro altar e invocó el nombre del Señor. 9 Después siguió su camino, poco a poco, hacia la región del Négueb.
Abram en Egipto
10 Por aquel entonces hubo una gran escasez de alimentos en toda aquella región, y Abram se fue a vivir a Egipto durante algún tiempo, pues no había nada de comer en el lugar donde vivía. 11 Cuando ya estaba llegando a Egipto, Abram le dijo a su esposa Sarai: «Mira, yo sé bien que tú eres una mujer hermosa, 12 y que cuando los egipcios te vean, van a decir: “Esta mujer es la esposa de ese hombre.” Entonces a mí me matarán, y a ti te dejarán con vida para quedarse contigo. 13 Por eso, para que me vaya bien y no me maten por causa tuya, diles por favor que eres mi hermana.»
14 Cuando Abram llegó a Egipto, los egipcios vieron que Sarai era muy hermosa. 15 También la vieron los funcionarios del faraón, rey de Egipto, y le fueron a decir que aquella mujer era muy hermosa. Entonces la llevaron al palacio del faraón.
16 Por causa de Sarai, el faraón trató muy bien a Abram. Le regaló ovejas, vacas, esclavos, esclavas, asnos y camellos. 17 Pero también por causa de Sarai, el Señor castigó al faraón y a su familia con grandes plagas. 18 Por eso el faraón mandó llamar a Abram, y le dijo: «¿Por qué me has hecho esto? ¿Por qué no me dijiste que esta mujer es tu esposa? 19 Tú dijiste que era tu hermana, y yo pude haberla tomado por esposa. Anda, aquí la tienes. ¡Tómala y vete!» 20 Entonces el faraón ordenó a sus hombres que hicieran salir de Egipto a Abram, junto con su esposa y con todo lo que tenía.

12 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.
6 And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
7 And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.
8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord.
9 And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.
10 And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.
11 And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:
12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.
13 Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.
14 And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.
15 The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
16 And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.
17 And the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.
18 And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?
19 Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.
20 And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.
