41 Като изминаха две години Фараон сънува, че стоеше при Нил {Еврейски: реката.}.
2 И, ето, седем крави, хубави и тлъсти, излизаха из реката и пасяха в тръстиката.
3 А, ето, след тях излизаха из реката други седем крави, грозни и мършави, и стояха при <първите> крави на речния бряг.
4 И грозните, мършави крави изядоха седемте хубави и тлъсти крави. Тогава Фараон се пробуди.
5 А като заспа сънува втори път; и, ето, седем класа пълни и добри израснаха из едно стъбло.
6 А, ето, след тях израснаха <други> седем класа тънки и прегорели от източния вятър.
7 И тънките класове погълнаха седемте дебели и пълни класове. А като се събуди Фараон, ето, беше сън.

25 Тогава Иосиф каза на Фараона: Фараоновият сън е един; Бог е явил на Фараона това, което скоро ще направи.
26 Седемте добри крави са седем години; и седемте добри класове са седем години, сънят е един.
27 А седемте мършави и грозни крави, които излязоха след тях, са седем години, както и седемте празни класове, прегорели от източния вятър; те ще бъдат седем години на глад.

39 Тогава Фараон каза на Иосифа: Понеже Бог ти откри всичко това, няма никой толкова умен и мъдър, колкото си ти.
40 Ти ще бъдеш над дома ми, и всичките ми люде ще слушат твоите думи; само с престола аз ще бъда по-горен от тебе.

42 Тогава Фараон извади пръстена си от ръката си и го тури на Иосифовата ръка, облече го в дрехи от висон и окачи му златно огърлие на шията.

53 А като се изминаха седемте години на плодородие, които бяха <настанали> в Египетската земя
54 настъпиха седемте години на глад, според както Иосиф бе казал; и настана глад по всичките земи, а по цялата Египетска земя имаше хляб.
55 Защото, когато огладня цялата Египетска земя, и людете извикаха към Фараона за хляб, Фараон рече на всичките египтяни: Идете при Иосифа, и каквото ви каже, сторете.
56 (А гладът беше по цялото лице на земята). Иосиф, прочее, отвори всичките житници и продаваше на египтяните, защото гладът се усилваше по Египетската земя.
57 И <от> всички страни дохождаха в Египет при Иосифа да купят жито, понеже гладът се усилваше по цялата земя.

Los sueños de Faraón
41 Y aconteció que después de dos años[a], Faraón tuvo un sueño. Soñó que estaba de pie junto al Nilo. 2 Y de pronto[b], del Nilo subieron siete vacas de hermoso aspecto y gordas[c], y pacían en el carrizal(A). 3 Entonces otras siete vacas de mal aspecto y flacas[d] subieron del Nilo detrás de ellas, y se pararon junto a las otras vacas a la orilla del Nilo. 4 Y las vacas de mal aspecto y flacas[e] devoraron las siete vacas de hermoso aspecto y gordas. Entonces Faraón se despertó.
5 Se quedó dormido y soñó por segunda vez. Vio que siete espigas llenas y buenas crecían en una sola caña, 6 y que siete espigas, menudas y quemadas por el viento del este, brotaron después de aquellas. 7 Y las espigas menudas devoraron a las siete espigas gruesas y llenas. Entonces Faraón despertó, y resultó que era un sueño.
8 Y por la mañana su espíritu estaba turbado(B), y mandó llamar a todos los magos[f](C), y a todos sus sabios de Egipto(D). Faraón les contó sus sueños[g], pero no hubo quien se los pudiera interpretar a Faraón(E).
9 Entonces el jefe de los coperos habló a Faraón: «Quisiera hablar hoy de mis faltas[h](F). 10 Cuando Faraón se enojó con sus siervos y me puso bajo custodia en la casa del capitán de la guardia, a mí y al jefe de los panaderos(G), 11 él y yo tuvimos[i] un sueño en una misma noche. Cada uno de nosotros soñó según la interpretación de su propio sueño(H). 12 Y estaba allí con nosotros un joven hebreo, un siervo del capitán de la guardia(I). Y se los contamos, y él nos interpretó los sueños. A cada uno interpretó su[j] sueño(J). 13 Tal como nos lo había interpretado, así sucedió. A mí me restableció Faraón en mi puesto, pero al otro[k] lo ahorcó(K)».

14 Entonces Faraón mandó llamar a José(L), y lo sacaron aprisa del calabozo[l]. Después de afeitarse y cambiarse sus vestidos, vino a Faraón(M). 15 Y Faraón dijo a José: «He tenido[m] un sueño y no hay quien lo interprete(N). Pero he oído decir de ti[n], que oyes un sueño y lo puedes interpretar[o](O)». 16 «No está en mí(P)», respondió José a Faraón. «Dios dará a Faraón una respuesta favorable[p](Q)».
17 Entonces Faraón dijo a José: «En mi sueño yo estaba de pie a la orilla del Nilo. 18 Y vi[q] siete vacas gordas[r] y de hermoso aspecto que salieron del Nilo. Pacían en el carrizal. 19 Pero sucedió que otras siete vacas subieron detrás de ellas, pobres, de muy mal aspecto y flacas[s], de tal fealdad[t] como yo nunca había visto en toda la tierra de Egipto. 20 Y las vacas flacas y feas[u] se comieron las primeras siete vacas gordas. 21 Pero cuando las habían devorado[v], no se podía notar[w] que las hubieran devorado[x]; pues[y] su aspecto era tan feo[z] como al principio. Entonces me desperté.
22 »En mi sueño también vi que siete espigas llenas y hermosas crecían en una sola caña; 23 y que siete espigas marchitas, menudas y quemadas por el viento del este, brotaron después de aquellas. 24 Las espigas menudas devoraron a las siete espigas hermosas. Se lo conté a los magos[aa], pero no hubo quien me lo pudiera explicar(R)».
25 Entonces José dijo a Faraón: «Los dos sueños de Faraón son[ab] uno. Dios ha anunciado a Faraón lo que Él va a hacer(S). 26 Las siete vacas hermosas son siete años, y las siete espigas hermosas son siete años. Los dos sueños son[ac] uno. 27 Y las siete vacas flacas y feas[ad] que subieron detrás de ellas son siete años, y las siete espigas quemadas por el viento del este serán siete años de hambre(T).
28 »Esto es lo que he dicho a Faraón: Dios ha mostrado a Faraón lo que va a hacer(U). 29 Van a venir siete años de gran abundancia en toda la tierra de Egipto(V); 30 y después de ellos vendrán[ae] siete años de hambre(W). Será olvidada toda la abundancia en la tierra de Egipto, y el hambre asolará[af] la tierra. 31 No se conocerá la abundancia en la tierra a causa del hambre que vendrá[ag], que será muy severa. 32 En cuanto a la repetición del sueño a Faraón dos veces, quiere decir que el asunto está determinado por Dios(X), y que Dios lo hará pronto.
33 »Ahora pues, busque Faraón un hombre prudente y sabio(Y), y póngalo sobre la tierra de Egipto. 34 Decida Faraón nombrar inspectores sobre el país y exija un quinto de la producción de la tierra de Egipto en los siete años de abundancia. 35 Que los inspectores recojan todos los víveres de esos años buenos que vienen, y almacenen en las ciudades(Z) el grano para alimento bajo la autoridad[ah] de Faraón, y que lo protejan. 36 Y que los víveres sean una reserva para el país durante los siete años de hambre que ocurrirán en la tierra de Egipto, a fin de que la gente del país no perezca por el hambre».

37 La idea[ai] pareció bien a[aj] Faraón y a[ak] todos sus siervos. 38 Entonces Faraón dijo a sus siervos: «¿Podemos hallar un hombre como este, en quien esté el espíritu de Dios(AA)?». 39 Y Faraón dijo a José: «Puesto que Dios te ha hecho saber todo esto, no hay nadie tan prudente ni tan sabio como tú(AB). 40 Tú estarás sobre mi casa, y todo mi pueblo obedecerá tus órdenes[al]. Solamente en el trono yo seré mayor que tú(AC)». 41 Faraón dijo también a José: «Mira, te he puesto sobre toda la tierra de Egipto(AD)».
42 Y Faraón se quitó el anillo de sellar de su mano(AE) y lo puso en la mano de José. Lo vistió con vestiduras de lino fino y puso un collar de oro en su cuello(AF). 43 Lo hizo montar en su segundo carro[am], y proclamaron delante de él: «¡Doblen la rodilla[an]!». Y lo puso sobre toda la tierra de Egipto.
44 Entonces Faraón dijo a José: «Aunque yo soy Faraón, sin embargo, nadie levantará su mano ni su pie sin tu permiso[ao](AG) en toda la tierra de Egipto». 45 Y Faraón llamó a José por el nombre de Zafnat Panea[ap], y le dio por mujer a Asenat, hija de Potifera, sacerdote de On[aq](AH). Y salió José para ver[ar] la tierra de Egipto.
46 José tenía treinta años(AI) cuando se presentó ante[as] Faraón, rey de Egipto. Y salió José de la presencia de Faraón y recorrió toda la tierra de Egipto. 47 La tierra produjo a manos llenas durante los siete años de abundancia. 48 José recogió todo el fruto[at] de estos siete años de abundancia[au] que hubo en la tierra de Egipto, y guardó[av] el alimento en las ciudades. En cada ciudad guardó el fruto de sus campos circunvecinos. 49 Así José almacenó grano en gran abundancia, como la arena del mar, hasta que dejó de medirlo[aw] porque no se podía medir[ax].
50 Antes de que llegaran los años[ay] de hambre, le nacieron a José dos hijos(AJ), los que le dio Asenat, hija de Potifera, sacerdote de On[az]. 51 Al primogénito José le puso el nombre de Manasés[ba], porque dijo: «Dios me ha hecho olvidar todo mi trabajo y toda la casa de mi padre». 52 Y al segundo le puso el nombre de Efraín[bb], porque dijo: «Dios me ha hecho fecundo(AK) en la tierra de mi aflicción».
Los siete años de hambre
53 Cuando pasaron los siete años de abundancia que había habido en la tierra de Egipto, 54 comenzaron a venir los siete años de hambre(AL), tal como José había dicho. Entonces hubo hambre en todas las tierras, pero en toda la tierra de Egipto había alimento. 55 Cuando se sintió el hambre en toda la tierra de Egipto, el pueblo clamó a Faraón por alimento. Faraón dijo a todos los egipcios: «Vayan a José, y hagan lo que él les diga(AM)».
56 El hambre también se extendió[bc] sobre toda la superficie de la tierra. Entonces José abrió todos los graneros[bd] y vendió a los egipcios, pues el hambre era severa en la tierra de Egipto. 57 Y de todos los países venían a Egipto para comprar grano a José, porque el hambre era severa en toda la tierra(AN).

41 And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.
2 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.
3 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river.
4 And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.
5 And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.
6 And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.
7 And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.
8 And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.
9 Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:
10 Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard's house, both me and the chief baker:
11 And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.
12 And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.
13 And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.
14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.
15 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.
17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:
18 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:
19 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:
20 And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:
21 And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.
22 And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:
23 And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:
24 And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.
25 And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.
26 The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.
27 And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.
28 This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh.
29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:
30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;
31 And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.
32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.
33 Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.
34 Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.
35 And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.
36 And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.
37 And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.
38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.
41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;
43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.
44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.
45 And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.
46 And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.
47 And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.
48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.
49 And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.
50 And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.
51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.
52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.
53 And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.
54 And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
55 And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.
56 And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.
57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.
