3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”(A)

4 Alors le Serpent dit à la femme : Mais pas du tout ! Vous ne mourrez pas ! 5 Seulement Dieu sait bien que le jour où vous en mangerez, vos yeux s’ouvriront et vous serez comme Dieu, décidant vous-mêmes ce qui est bien ou mal[a].
