Раждането на Исаак
21 А Господ, както беше обещал, си спомни за Сарра; и Господ изпълни обещанието Си към нея. 2 (A)Сарра зачена и роди син на Авраам в старините му, в определеното от Бога време. 3 Авраам нарече с името Исаак сина си, който му се роди от Сарра. 4 (B)На осмия ден Авраам обряза сина си Исаак, както Бог му беше заповядал. 5 Авраам беше на сто години, когато му се роди неговият син Исаак.
6 А Сарра каза: „Смях породи у мене Бог. Който чуе за мене, ще се разсмее.“ 7 И добави: „Кой би могъл да каже на Авраам: ‘Сарра ще кърми деца’? Защото родих син в старините му.“ 8 (C)Детето порасна и го отбиха. Авраам даде голяма гощавка в деня, когато отбиха Исаак.
Агар и нейният син Измаил
9 Сарра видя, че синът на египтянката Агар, когото тя беше родила на Авраам, се присмива[a]. 10 (D)Затова тя каза на Авраам: „Прогони тази робиня и сина ѝ. Синът на тази робиня не трябва да получи наследство заедно с моя син Исаак.“
11 Авраам изживя това много болезнено заради сина си Измаил. 12 (E)Но Бог каза на Авраам: „Не се огорчавай за момчето и робинята си. Постъпи така, както ти каже Сарра, защото твоят род ще продължи чрез Исаак. 13 Но Аз ще направя сина на робинята родоначалник на цял народ, защото той също е твое дете.“
14 Авраам стана рано сутринта, взе хляб и мех с вода. Той ги даде на Агар, като ги сложи на рамото ѝ. След това ѝ даде и момчето и я изпрати. Тя тръгна, но се заблуди в пустинята Вирсавия. 15 Водата в меха обаче свърши. Агар остави детето под един храст. 16 След това се отдалечи колкото един хвърлей на стрела, защото си каза: „Не искам да видя как детето умира.“ И като седна насреща, тя заплака с висок глас. 17 Но Бог чу как плаче детето и Божий ангел извика от небето на Агар: „Какво ти е, Агар? Не бой се, защото Бог чу гласа на момчето от мястото, където е то. 18 Стани, вдигни момчето и го хвани за ръка, защото Аз ще направя от него родоначалник на голям народ.“
19 Тогава Бог ѝ отвори очите и тя видя кладенец с вода. Отиде, напълни меха с вода и даде на момчето да пие. 20 Оттогава Бог не изостави момчето. То порасна, засели се в пустинята и стана стрелец с лък. 21 Засели се в пустинята Фаран и майка му му доведе съпруга от Египет.
Авраам в спор с Авимелех
22 (F)В същото това време Авимелех, съпроводен от военачалника си Фихол, каза на Авраам: „Бог е с тебе във всичко, каквото вършиш. 23 А сега закълни ми се тук пред Бога, че няма да постъпиш коварно нито с мене, нито с моя син, нито с внука. Както аз постъпвах добре с тебе, така и ти ще постъпваш с мене и със земята, която те е приютила като пришълец.“
24 Авраам отговори: „Заклевам се.“ 25 Тогава Авраам се оплака на Авимелех за водния кладенец, който му бяха отнели Авимелеховите роби. 26 Но Авимелех обясни: „Не зная кой е сторил това, а и ти нищо не си ми казал – чувам за това едва днес.“ 27 Тогава Авраам взе дребен и едър добитък и ги подари на Авимелех. Така двамата сключиха съюз. 28 Авраам отдели седем женски агнета от стадото на дребния добитък. 29 Авимелех запита Авраам: „За какво са тук тези седем женски агнета, които ти си отделил?“ 30 Авраам отговори: „Вземи от ръката ми тези седем женски агнета като знак на това, че аз съм изкопал този кладенец.“ 31 Затова Авраам нарече това място Вирсавия[b], понеже там се заклеха и двамата. 32 След като сключиха съюз във Вирсавия, Авимелех заедно с военачалника си Фихол се завърна във филистимската земя. 33 Авраам насади във Вирсавия свещена дъбрава и призова там името на Господ, Вечния Бог. 34 И живя Авраам във филистимската земя като странник дълго време.

Nacimiento de Isaac
21 Visitó Jehová a Sara, como había dicho, e hizo Jehová con Sara como había hablado. 2 Y Sara concibió(A) y dio a Abraham un hijo en su vejez, en el tiempo que Dios le había dicho. 3 Y llamó Abraham el nombre de su hijo que le nació, que le dio a luz Sara, Isaac. 4 Y circuncidó Abraham a su hijo Isaac(B) de ocho días, como Dios le había mandado. 5 Y era Abraham de cien años cuando nació Isaac su hijo.
6 Entonces dijo Sara: Dios me ha hecho reír, y cualquiera que lo oyere, se reirá conmigo. 7 Y añadió: ¿Quién dijera a Abraham que Sara habría de dar de mamar a hijos? Pues le he dado un hijo en su vejez.
Agar e Ismael son echados de la casa de Abraham
8 Y creció el niño, y fue destetado; e hizo Abraham gran banquete el día que fue destetado Isaac. 9 Y vio Sara que el hijo de Agar la egipcia, el cual esta le había dado a luz a Abraham, se burlaba de su hijo Isaac. 10 Por tanto, dijo a Abraham: Echa a esta sierva y a su hijo, porque el hijo de esta sierva no ha de heredar con Isaac mi hijo.(C) 11 Este dicho pareció grave en gran manera a Abraham a causa de su hijo. 12 Entonces dijo Dios a Abraham: No te parezca grave a causa del muchacho y de tu sierva; en todo lo que te dijere Sara, oye su voz, porque en Isaac te será llamada descendencia.(D) 13 Y también del hijo de la sierva haré una nación, porque es tu descendiente. 14 Entonces Abraham se levantó muy de mañana, y tomó pan, y un odre de agua, y lo dio a Agar, poniéndolo sobre su hombro, y le entregó el muchacho, y la despidió. Y ella salió y anduvo errante por el desierto de Beerseba.
15 Y le faltó el agua del odre, y echó al muchacho debajo de un arbusto, 16 y se fue y se sentó enfrente, a distancia de un tiro de arco; porque decía: No veré cuando el muchacho muera. Y cuando ella se sentó enfrente, el muchacho alzó su voz y lloró. 17 Y oyó Dios la voz del muchacho; y el ángel de Dios llamó a Agar desde el cielo, y le dijo: ¿Qué tienes, Agar? No temas; porque Dios ha oído la voz del muchacho en donde está. 18 Levántate, alza al muchacho, y sostenlo con tu mano, porque yo haré de él una gran nación. 19 Entonces Dios le abrió los ojos, y vio una fuente de agua; y fue y llenó el odre de agua, y dio de beber al muchacho. 20 Y Dios estaba con el muchacho; y creció, y habitó en el desierto, y fue tirador de arco. 21 Y habitó en el desierto de Parán; y su madre le tomó mujer de la tierra de Egipto.
Pacto entre Abraham y Abimelec
22 Aconteció en aquel mismo tiempo que habló Abimelec,(E) y Ficol príncipe de su ejército, a Abraham, diciendo: Dios está contigo en todo cuanto haces. 23 Ahora, pues, júrame aquí por Dios, que no faltarás a mí, ni a mi hijo ni a mi nieto, sino que conforme a la bondad que yo hice contigo, harás tú conmigo, y con la tierra en donde has morado. 24 Y respondió Abraham: Yo juraré. 25 Y Abraham reconvino a Abimelec a causa de un pozo de agua, que los siervos de Abimelec le habían quitado. 26 Y respondió Abimelec: No sé quién haya hecho esto, ni tampoco tú me lo hiciste saber, ni yo lo he oído hasta hoy. 27 Y tomó Abraham ovejas y vacas, y dio a Abimelec; e hicieron ambos pacto. 28 Entonces puso Abraham siete corderas del rebaño aparte. 29 Y dijo Abimelec a Abraham: ¿Qué significan esas siete corderas que has puesto aparte? 30 Y él respondió: Que estas siete corderas tomarás de mi mano, para que me sirvan de testimonio de que yo cavé este pozo. 31 Por esto llamó a aquel lugar Beerseba;[a] porque allí juraron ambos. 32 Así hicieron pacto en Beerseba; y se levantó Abimelec, y Ficol príncipe de su ejército, y volvieron a tierra de los filisteos.
33 Y plantó Abraham un árbol tamarisco en Beerseba, e invocó allí el nombre de Jehová Dios eterno. 34 Y moró Abraham en tierra de los filisteos muchos días.

The Birth of Isaac
21 Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah(A) as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised.(B) 2 Sarah became pregnant and bore a son(C) to Abraham in his old age,(D) at the very time God had promised him.(E) 3 Abraham gave the name Isaac[a](F) to the son Sarah bore him. 4 When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him,(G) as God commanded him. 5 Abraham was a hundred years old(H) when his son Isaac was born to him.
6 Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter,(I) and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” 7 And she added, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”(J)
Hagar and Ishmael Sent Away
8 The child grew and was weaned,(K) and on the day Isaac was weaned Abraham held a great feast. 9 But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham(L) was mocking,(M) 10 and she said to Abraham, “Get rid of that slave woman(N) and her son, for that woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac.”(O)
11 The matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son.(P) 12 But God said to him, “Do not be so distressed about the boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring[b] will be reckoned.(Q) 13 I will make the son of the slave into a nation(R) also, because he is your offspring.”
14 Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar.(S) He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went on her way and wandered in the Desert of Beersheba.(T)
15 When the water in the skin was gone, she put the boy under one of the bushes. 16 Then she went off and sat down about a bowshot away, for she thought, “I cannot watch the boy die.” And as she sat there, she[c] began to sob.(U)
17 God heard the boy crying,(V) and the angel of God(W) called to Hagar from heaven(X) and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid;(Y) God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. 18 Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.(Z)”
19 Then God opened her eyes(AA) and she saw a well of water.(AB) So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.
20 God was with the boy(AC) as he grew up. He lived in the desert and became an archer. 21 While he was living in the Desert of Paran,(AD) his mother got a wife for him(AE) from Egypt.
The Treaty at Beersheba
22 At that time Abimelek(AF) and Phicol the commander of his forces(AG) said to Abraham, “God is with you in everything you do.(AH) 23 Now swear(AI) to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or my descendants.(AJ) Show to me and the country where you now reside as a foreigner the same kindness I have shown to you.”(AK)
24 Abraham said, “I swear it.”
25 Then Abraham complained to Abimelek about a well of water that Abimelek’s servants had seized.(AL) 26 But Abimelek said, “I don’t know who has done this. You did not tell me, and I heard about it only today.”
27 So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelek, and the two men made a treaty.(AM) 28 Abraham set apart seven ewe lambs from the flock, 29 and Abimelek asked Abraham, “What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs you have set apart by themselves?”
30 He replied, “Accept these seven lambs from my hand as a witness(AN) that I dug this well.(AO)”
31 So that place was called Beersheba,[d](AP) because the two men swore an oath(AQ) there.
32 After the treaty(AR) had been made at Beersheba,(AS) Abimelek and Phicol the commander of his forces(AT) returned to the land of the Philistines.(AU) 33 Abraham planted a tamarisk tree(AV) in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord,(AW) the Eternal God.(AX) 34 And Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines(AY) for a long time.

21 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
18 Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
19 And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
20 And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
22 And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:
23 Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
24 And Abraham said, I will swear.
25 And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
26 And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing; neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
27 And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.
28 And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
29 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?
30 And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.
31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.
32 Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
33 And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the Lord, the everlasting God.
34 And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.
