²⁷ତେଣୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିମୂର୍ତ୍ତିରେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟକୁ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କଲେ।
ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ କରି ସୃଷ୍ଟି କଲେ।

²Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

²He created them ^(A)male and female, and ^(B)blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.

²ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ କରି ସୃଷ୍ଟି କଲେ ଏବଂ ସେହି ଦିନ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ କଲେ ଏବଂ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ନାମ “ମନୁଷ୍ୟ”^[a] ଦେଲେ।

ଆଦିପୁସ୍ତକ 5:2 ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଏହି ନାମର ଅର୍ଥ “ଆଦମ” କିମ୍ବା “ଲୋକମାନେ”। ଏହା ଶାଦ୍ଦିକ ଅର୍ଥ “ଭୂମି” କିମ୍ବା “ଲାଲ ମାଟି।”
