7 Реч дође Јеремији од ГОСПОДА: 2 »Стани на капију Дома ГОСПОДЊЕГ и тамо објави ову реч: ‚Чујте реч ГОСПОДЊУ, сви ви Јудеји који улазите на ове капије да се поклоните ГОСПОДУ. 3 Овако каже ГОСПОД над војскама, Бог Израелов: Промените свој начин живота и своја дела, и ја ћу вам дати да и даље живите на овом месту. 4 Не уздајте се у преварне речи и не говорите: »Ово је Храм ГОСПОДЊИ! Ово је Храм ГОСПОДЊИ! Ово је Храм ГОСПОДЊИ!« 5 Ако уистину промените свој начин живота и своја дела и ако један другом будете чинили оно што је право, 6 ако не будете угњетавали дошљака, сироче или удовицу и проливали недужну крв на овом месту и ако не будете ишли за другим боговима на своју несрећу, 7 даћу вам да и даље живите на овом месту, у земљи коју сам довека дао вашим праоцима.
8 »‚Али ви се уздате у преварне речи, од којих нема користи. 9 Зар ћете красти, убијати, чинити прељубу, лажно се заклињати, палити кâд Ваалу и ићи за другим боговима за које раније нисте ни знали, 10 а онда доћи и стати пред мене у овом Дому, који носи моје Име, и мислити да можете некажњено да чините све те гнусобе? 11 Зар је овај Дом, који носи моје Име, за вас постао разбојничка јазбина? Али ја помно гледам‘«, говори ГОСПОД.
12 »‚Идите сада на оно место у Шилу где сам прво начинио боравиште за своје Име и погледајте шта сам урадио с њим због опакости мога народа Израела. 13 Док сте ви све то чинили‘«, говори ГОСПОД, »‚говорио сам вам наново и наново, али нисте слушали; звао сам вас, али нисте се одазивали. 14 Стога, оно што сам урадио са Шилом, сада ћу урадити са Домом који носи моје Име, Храмом у који се уздате, местом које сам дао вама и вашим праоцима. 15 Одбацићу вас од свога лица као што сам одбацио сву вашу сабраћу, Ефремово потомство.‘«

16 »Зато немој да се молиш за овај народ и не упућуј ми молбе и молитве за њих – не моли ме, јер те нећу услишити. 17 Зар не видиш шта раде по градовима Јуде и по улицама Јерусалима? 18 Деца скупљају дрва, очеви пале ватру, а жене месе тесто и пеку лепиње за Царицу неба. Изливају леванице другим боговима да ме разгневе. 19 Али они не разгневљују мене«, говори ГОСПОД, »него себи наносе штету на своју срамоту. 20 Стога овако каже Господ ГОСПОД: Мој гнев и срџба излиће се на ово место, на људе и стоку, на пољско дрвеће и плодове земље, и гореће и неће се угасити.
21 »Овако каже ГОСПОД над војскама, Бог Израелов: ‚Само ви додајте своје паљенице другим кланим жртвама и сами поједите месо! 22 Јер, кад сам ваше праоце извео из Египта и говорио им, нисам им дао заповести за паљенице и клане жртве, 23 него сам им дао ову заповест: »Слушајте ме, и ја ћу бити ваш Бог, а ви ћете бити мој народ. Живите онако како вам заповедам, да би вам било добро.« 24 Али они нису ни слушали ни обраћали пажњу, него су пошли за саветом свог тврдокорног и злог срца и отишли назад, а не напред. 25 Од оног дана кад су ваши праоци изашли из Египта до дана данашњег слао сам вам своје слуге пророке из дана у дан, непрестано. 26 Али они ме нису слушали ни обраћали пажњу. Били су тврдоглави и учинили више зла него њихови праоци.‘
27 »Када им све ово кажеш, неће те послушати. Када их позовеш, неће ти се одазвати. 28 Зато им кажи: ‚Ово је народ који није послушао ГОСПОДА, свога Бога, ни прихватио његове опомене. Истина нестаде, ишчезну из њихових уста.‘«

7 Реч која је од Господа дошла Јеремији: 2 „Стани на врата Господњег Дома и тамо објави ову поруку. Реци им:
’Чујте реч Господњу, сви Јудејци, ви што улазите на ова врата да се поклоните Господу. 3 Овако каже Господ над војскама, Бог Израиљев: поправите своје путеве и своја дела, и ја ћу да те настаним на овом месту. 4 Не уздајте се у речи лажљиве, говорећи: Господњи Дом! Господњи Дом! Господњи Дом је ово! 5 Јер ако заиста поправите своје путеве и своја дела, и ако стварно радите по правди међу људима, међу ближњима; 6 и не будете тлачили дошљака, сироче и удовицу; ако не будете проливали на овом месту невину крв и не будете на штету своју следили друге богове – 7 ја ћу да вас настаним на овом месту, у земљи коју сам дао вашим прецима одвајкада па довека. 8 Ал’ гле, ви се уздајете у речи лажљиве и бескорисне.
9 Зар да крадете, убијате, чините прељубу, лажно се заклињете, кадите Валу, следите друге богове које не познајете; 10 а онда да дођете и станете пред мене, у овом Дому који је по мени назван?! Па још ћете да кажете – Избављени смо! – да радите све ове гадости?! 11 Зар је пећина хајдука вама постао овај Дом, по мени назван? То исто и ја са̂м видим – говори Господ.
12 Него, пођите на моје место, што је било у Силому, где сам прво настанио своје име. Гледајте шта сам му урадио због зла мога народа Израиља. 13 Зато што сте учинили сва ова дела – говори Господ – иако сам ти упорно говорио и говорио, али нисте слушали; звао вас али се нисте одазивали: 14 учинићу овом Дому – који је по мени назван, у који се уздате – и месту које сам дао вама и вашим прецима исто што сам учинио и Силому. 15 Одбацићу вас од себе као што сам одбацио сву вашу браћу, сво Јефремово потомство.

Зар не баш себе саме на срамоту свог образа?
20 Зато овако каже Господ Бог: мој гнев и срџба моја ће се распламтети против овог места – на људе и на животиње, на пољска стабла и на плодове земље – плануће и неће се угасити.
21 Овако каже Господ над војскама, Бог Израиљев: само ви гомилајте свеспалнице на остале ваше жртве и једите месо! 22 Јер ја нисам наложио вашим прецима, нисам им заповедио око свеспалница и осталих жртава, онда када сам их извео из Египта. 23 Али сам им ово заповедио и рекао: слушајте мој глас и ја ћу бити Бог ваш, а ви ћете бити народ мој. Ако будете следили све путеве за које сам вам заповедио, биће вам добро. 24 Али они нису слушали и нису пригнули своје ухо. Живели су по самовољи свог злог срца па су зато назадовали уместо да напредују. 25 Од дана када су ваши преци изашли из Египта, па до дана данашњег ја сам вам упорно, из дана у дан слао пророке, моје слуге. 26 Ипак ме нису послушали и нису пригнули своје ухо. Постали су тврдоглави и чинили су зло више од својих предака.’
27 Говорићеш им све ове речи али те они неће слушати. Зваћеш их али се они неће одазвати. 28 Зато им кажи: ’Ово је народ који није послушао глас Господа, свога Бога, и није прихватио карање. Верност је нестала, ишчупана је из њихових уста!
29 Исеци своју косу и баци је, па иди на оголеле висове са нарицаљком, јер је Господ одбацио и напустио овај нараштај на који се гневи.’
Долина страдања
30 Јер је Јудин народ починио зло на моје очи – говори Господ. Поставили су своје гадости у Дому који је по мени назван, да би га онечистили. 31 Још су саградили тофетске узвишице, што су у долини Вен-Еном, да спаљују своје синове и ћерке у ватри. А ја то нисам заповедио и на то нисам ни помислио. 32 И ево, зато долазе дани – говори Господ – када их више неће звати ’Тофет’ и ’долина Вен-Еном’, него ’Долина клања’. Јер у Тофету ће се људи сахрањивати док више не буде места. 33 Лешеви овог народа ће бити храна птицама небеским и зверима земаљским, а неће бити никог да их уплаши. 34 Ја ћу да ућуткам звук весеља, цику радовања и повик младожење и невесте из Јудиних градова и са јерусалимских улица! Јер ће земља постати пустош.

7 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, 2 (B)“Stand in the gate of the Lord’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, all you of Judah who enter in at these gates to worship the Lord!’ ” 3 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: (C)“Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. 4 (D)Do not trust in these lying words, saying, ‘The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are these.’
5 “For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly (E)execute [a]judgment between a man and his neighbor, 6 if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, (F)or walk after other gods to your hurt, 7 (G)then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in (H)the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.
8 “Behold, you trust in (I)lying words that cannot profit. 9 (J)Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and (K)walk after other gods whom you do not know, 10 (L)and then come and stand before Me in this house (M)which is called by My name, and say, ‘We are delivered to do all these abominations’? 11 Has (N)this house, which is called by My name, become a (O)den of thieves in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it,” says the Lord.
12 “But go now to (P)My place which was in Shiloh, (Q)where I set My name at the first, and see (R)what I did to it because of the wickedness of My people Israel. 13 And now, because you have done all these works,” says the Lord, “and I spoke to you, (S)rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I (T)called you, but you did not answer, 14 therefore I will do to the house which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to this place which I gave to you and your fathers, as I have done to (U)Shiloh. 15 And I will cast you out of My sight, (V)as I have cast out all your brethren—(W)the whole posterity of Ephraim.
16 “Therefore (X)do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; (Y)for I will not hear you. 17 Do you not see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 (Z)The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they (AA)pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger. 19 (AB)Do they provoke Me to anger?” says the Lord. “Do they not provoke themselves, to the shame of their own faces?”
20 Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Behold, My anger and My fury will be poured out on this place—on man and on beast, on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground. And it will burn and not be quenched.”
21 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: (AC)“Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat meat. 22 (AD)For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices. 23 But this is what I commanded them, saying, (AE)‘Obey My voice, and (AF)I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’ 24 (AG)Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but (AH)followed[b] the counsels and the [c]dictates of their evil hearts, and (AI)went[d] backward and not forward. 25 Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even (AJ)sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them. 26 (AK)Yet they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but (AL)stiffened their neck. (AM)They did worse than their fathers.
27 “Therefore (AN)you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not obey you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.
Judgment on Obscene Religion
28 “So you shall say to them, ‘This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord their God (AO)nor receive correction. (AP)Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth. 29 (AQ)Cut off your hair and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the desolate heights; for the Lord has rejected and forsaken the generation of His wrath.’ 30 For the children of Judah have done evil in My sight,” says the Lord. (AR)“They have set their abominations in the house which is called by My name, to [e]pollute it. 31 And they have built the (AS)high places of Tophet, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to (AT)burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, (AU)which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart.
32 “Therefore behold, (AV)the days are coming,” says the Lord, “when it will no more be called Tophet, or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter; (AW)for they will bury in Tophet until there is no room. 33 The (AX)corpses of this people will be food for the birds of the heaven and for the beasts of the earth. And no one will frighten them away. 34 Then I will cause to (AY)cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. For (AZ)the land shall be desolate.

7 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Stand(A) at the gate of the Lord’s house and there proclaim this message:
“‘Hear the word of the Lord, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to worship the Lord. 3 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways(B) and your actions, and I will let you live(C) in this place. 4 Do not trust(D) in deceptive(E) words and say, “This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord!” 5 If you really change(F) your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly,(G) 6 if you do not oppress(H) the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood(I) in this place, and if you do not follow other gods(J) to your own harm, 7 then I will let you live in this place, in the land(K) I gave your ancestors(L) for ever and ever. 8 But look, you are trusting(M) in deceptive(N) words that are worthless.
9 “‘Will you steal(O) and murder,(P) commit adultery(Q) and perjury,[a](R) burn incense to Baal(S) and follow other gods(T) you have not known, 10 and then come and stand(U) before me in this house,(V) which bears my Name, and say, “We are safe”—safe to do all these detestable things?(W) 11 Has this house,(X) which bears my Name, become a den of robbers(Y) to you? But I have been watching!(Z) declares the Lord.
12 “‘Go now to the place in Shiloh(AA) where I first made a dwelling(AB) for my Name,(AC) and see what I did(AD) to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel. 13 While you were doing all these things, declares the Lord, I spoke(AE) to you again and again,(AF) but you did not listen;(AG) I called(AH) you, but you did not answer.(AI) 14 Therefore, what I did to Shiloh(AJ) I will now do to the house that bears my Name,(AK) the temple(AL) you trust in, the place I gave to you and your ancestors. 15 I will thrust you from my presence,(AM) just as I did all your fellow Israelites, the people of Ephraim.’(AN)
16 “So do not pray for this people nor offer any plea(AO) or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I will not listen(AP) to you. 17 Do you not see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes to offer to the Queen of Heaven.(AQ) They pour out drink offerings(AR) to other gods to arouse(AS) my anger. 19 But am I the one they are provoking?(AT) declares the Lord. Are they not rather harming themselves, to their own shame?(AU)
20 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign(AV) Lord says: My anger(AW) and my wrath will be poured(AX) out on this place—on man and beast, on the trees of the field and on the crops of your land—and it will burn and not be quenched.(AY)
21 “‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Go ahead, add your burnt offerings to your other sacrifices(AZ) and eat(BA) the meat yourselves! 22 For when I brought your ancestors out of Egypt and spoke to them, I did not just give them commands(BB) about burnt offerings and sacrifices,(BC) 23 but I gave them this command:(BD) Obey(BE) me, and I will be your God and you will be my people.(BF) Walk in obedience to all(BG) I command you, that it may go well(BH) with you. 24 But they did not listen(BI) or pay attention;(BJ) instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts.(BK) They went backward(BL) and not forward. 25 From the time your ancestors left Egypt until now, day after day, again and again(BM) I sent you my servants(BN) the prophets.(BO) 26 But they did not listen to me or pay attention.(BP) They were stiff-necked(BQ) and did more evil than their ancestors.’(BR)
27 “When you tell(BS) them all this, they will not listen(BT) to you; when you call to them, they will not answer.(BU) 28 Therefore say to them, ‘This is the nation that has not obeyed the Lord its God or responded to correction.(BV) Truth(BW) has perished; it has vanished from their lips.
29 “‘Cut off(BX) your hair and throw it away; take up a lament(BY) on the barren heights, for the Lord has rejected and abandoned(BZ) this generation that is under his wrath.
The Valley of Slaughter
30 “‘The people of Judah have done evil(CA) in my eyes, declares the Lord. They have set up their detestable idols(CB) in the house that bears my Name and have defiled(CC) it. 31 They have built the high places of Topheth(CD) in the Valley of Ben Hinnom(CE) to burn their sons and daughters(CF) in the fire—something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.(CG) 32 So beware, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when people will no longer call it Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter,(CH) for they will bury(CI) the dead in Topheth until there is no more room. 33 Then the carcasses(CJ) of this people will become food(CK) for the birds and the wild animals, and there will be no one to frighten them away.(CL) 34 I will bring an end to the sounds(CM) of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride and bridegroom(CN) in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem,(CO) for the land will become desolate.(CP)

16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the Lord: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?
20 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
21 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:
26 Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
27 Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.
28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
29 Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the Lord hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
30 For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the Lord: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
31 And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.
33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.
