A Tenda Sagrada

26 —Faça a Tenda Sagrada com dez cortinas. As cortinas deverão ser feitas de linho fino trançado e de fios de tecido azul, roxo e vermelho, com querubins bordados nelas, uma obra de arte. 2 Todas as cortinas devem medir doze metros e meio de comprimento por um metro e oitenta de largura. 3 Costure as cortinas em dois grupos de cinco cortinas cada. 4 Utilize os fios de tecido azul para fazer laços ao longo da borda da última cortina de cada grupo. 5 Faça cinquenta laços em cada uma das cortinas no fim de cada grupo. Os laços deverão ser colocados de maneira que cada laço de uma das cortinas corresponda ao laço da outra cortina. 6 Depois faça cinquenta argolas de ouro para unir as duas cortinas pelos laços, e assim a Tenda Sagrada ficará unida.

7 —Faça também uma tenda de onze cortinas de pelo de cabra para cobrir a Tenda Sagrada. 8 Todas as onze cortinas deverão ser do mesmo tamanho, treze metros e meio de comprimento por dois metros de largura. 9 Costure cinco cortinas para formar um grupo e costure também as outras seis cortinas para formar outro grupo. Dobre em duas a sexta cortina na frente da tenda. 10 Faça também cinquenta laços no fim da última cortina de cada um dos grupos. 11 Faça depois cinquenta argolas de bronze e prenda-as nos laços para que toda a tenda fique unida. 12 Pendure metade da parte que sobrar do comprimento das cortinas na parte de trás da Tenda Sagrada. 13 As cortinas serão quarenta e cinco centímetros mais compridas de cada lado. O que sobrar do comprimento deverá ser pendurado nos dois lados da Tenda Sagrada para que esta fique toda coberta. 14 Faça duas coberturas para a Tenda Sagrada. Uma cobertura de peles de carneiro tingidas de vermelho e, por cima dela, uma cobertura de peles finas.

15 —Para segurar a Tenda Sagrada, faça armações verticais de madeira de acácia. 16 Cada armação terá quatro metros e meio de altura por setenta centímetros de largura. 17 E cada armação terá dois postes para unir as tábuas umas às outras. Todas as tábuas da Tenda Sagrada deverão ser unidas desta forma. 18 Faça vinte armações e coloque-as no lado sul da Tenda Sagrada. 19 E faça quarenta bases de prata para as armações. Cada armação deverá ser apoiada em duas bases, uma para cada poste. 20 Faça também vinte armações para o lado norte da Tenda Sagrada 21 e quarenta bases de prata, duas debaixo de cada armação. 22 Para a parte de trás da Tenda Sagrada, isto é, do lado oeste, faça seis armações. 23 E faça duas armações para as esquinas, na parte de trás, da Tenda Sagrada. 24 As armações das esquinas ficarão unidas em baixo. Em cima, elas serão unidas por uma argola. Faça o mesmo em ambas as esquinas. 25 Assim haverá oito armações e dezesseis bases; ou seja, duas bases debaixo de cada armação.

26 —Faça também travessas de madeira de acácia: cinco para as armações de um lado da Tenda Sagrada, 27 cinco para as armações do outro lado, e cinco para as armações da parte de trás da Tenda Sagrada, no lado oeste. 28 A travessa central irá de um lado ao outro, a meia altura das armações.

29 —Revista de ouro as armações e faça de ouro as argolas por onde irão passar as travessas que serão também revestidas de ouro. 30 Faça a Tenda Sagrada segundo o modelo que lhe foi mostrado no monte.

31 —Faça uma cortina de linho fino e de fios de tecido azul, roxo e vermelho, e mande bordar nela querubins. 32 Pendure a cortina com ganchos de ouro em quatro colunas de madeira de acácia, revestidas de ouro, e monte as colunas em quatro bases de prata. 33 Pendure a cortina nos ganchos de ouro e guarde a arca da aliança atrás da cortina. A cortina servirá para vocês separarem o Lugar Santo do Lugar Santíssimo. 34 Coloque a cobertura de purificação sobre a arca da aliança no Lugar Santíssimo.

35 —Coloque a mesa do lado de fora da cortina, no lado norte da Tenda Sagrada e o candelabro no lado sul, em frente da mesa.

36 —Para a entrada da tenda, faça outra cortina. A cortina será bordada e feita de linho fino trançado e de fios de tecido azul, roxo e vermelho. 37 Para essa cortina, faça cinco colunas de madeira de acácia, revestidas de ouro, com ganchos de ouro. Mande fundir cinco bases de bronze para as colunas.

The Tabernacle

26 ‘You(A) are to construct the tabernacle itself with ten curtains. You must make them of finely spun linen, and blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, with a design of cherubim worked into them. 2 Each curtain should be 12.5 metres[a] long and 1.8 metres[b] wide; all the curtains are to have the same measurements. 3 Five of the curtains should be joined together, and the other five curtains joined together. 4 Make loops of blue yarn on the edge of the last curtain in the first set, and do the same on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set. 5 Make fifty loops on the one curtain and make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain in the second set, so that the loops line up together. 6 Also make fifty gold clasps and join the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle may be a single unit.

7 ‘You are to make curtains of goat hair for a tent over the tabernacle; make eleven of these curtains. 8 Each curtain should be 13.5 metres[c] long and 1.8 metres wide. All eleven curtains are to have the same measurements. 9 Join five of the curtains by themselves, and the other six curtains by themselves. Then fold the sixth curtain double at the front of the tent. 10 Make fifty loops on the edge of one curtain, the outermost in the first set, and make fifty loops on the edge of the corresponding curtain of the second set. 11 Make fifty bronze clasps; put the clasps through the loops and join the tent together so that it is a single unit. 12 As for the flap that remains from the tent curtains, the leftover half curtain is to hang over the back of the tabernacle. 13 What remains along the length of the tent curtains – 45 centimetres[d] on one side and 45 centimetres on the other side – should hang over the sides of the tabernacle on either side to cover it. 14 Make a covering for the tent from ram skins dyed red(B) and a covering of fine leather[e] on top of that.

15 ‘You are to make upright supports[f] of acacia wood(C) for the tabernacle. 16 Each support is to be four and a half metres[g] long and seventy[h] centimetres wide. 17 Each support will have two tenons for joining. Do the same for all the supports of the tabernacle. 18 Make the supports for the tabernacle as follows: twenty supports for the south side, 19 and make forty silver bases under the twenty supports, two bases under the first support for its two tenons, and two bases under the next support for its two tenons; 20 twenty supports for the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, 21 along with their forty silver bases, two bases under the first support and two bases under each support; 22 and make six supports for the west side of the tabernacle. 23 Make two additional supports for the two back corners of the tabernacle. 24 They are to be paired at the bottom, and joined together[i] at the top in a single ring. So it should be for both of them; they will serve as the two corners. 25 There are to be eight supports with their silver bases: sixteen bases; two bases under the first support and two bases under each support.

26 ‘You are to make five crossbars of acacia wood for the supports on one side of the tabernacle, 27 five crossbars for the supports on the other side of the tabernacle, and five crossbars for the supports on the back side of the tabernacle on the west. 28 The central crossbar is to run through the middle of the supports from one end to the other. 29 Then overlay the supports with gold, and make their rings of gold as the holders for the crossbars. Also overlay the crossbars with gold. 30 You are to set up the tabernacle according to the plan for it that you have been shown on the mountain.(D)

31 ‘You are to make a curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen with a design of cherubim worked into it.(E) 32 Hang it on four gold-plated pillars of acacia wood that have gold hooks and that stand on four silver bases. 33 Hang the curtain under the clasps[j] and bring the ark of the testimony there behind the curtain, so the curtain will make a separation for you between the holy place(F) and the most holy place. 34 Put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.(G) 35 Place the table outside the curtain and the lampstand on the south side of the tabernacle, opposite the table; put the table on the north side.(H)

36 ‘For the entrance to the tent you are to make a screen embroidered[k] with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen. 37 Make five pillars of acacia wood for the screen and overlay them with gold; their hooks are to be gold, and you are to cast five bronze bases for them.

26 Moreover, you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twined linen, and blue and purple and scarlet [stuff], with cherubim skillfully embroidered shall you make them.

2 The length of one curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits and the breadth of one curtain four cubits; each of the curtains shall measure the same.

3 The five curtains shall be coupled to one another, and the other five curtains shall be coupled to one another.

4 And you shall make loops of blue on the edge of the last curtain in the first set, and likewise in the second set.

5 Fifty loops you shall make on the one curtain and fifty loops on the edge of the last curtain that is in the second coupling or set, so that the loops on one correspond to the loops on the other.

6 And you shall make fifty clasps of gold and fasten the curtains together with the clasps; then the tabernacle shall be one whole.

7 And make curtains of goats’ hair to be a [second] covering over the tabernacle; eleven curtains shall you make.

8 One curtain shall be thirty cubits long and four cubits wide; and the eleven curtains shall all measure the same.

9 You shall join together five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves, and shall double over the sixth curtain in the front of the tabernacle [to make a closed door].

10 And make fifty loops on the edge of the outmost curtain in the one set and fifty loops on the edge of the outmost curtain in the second set.

11 You shall make fifty clasps of bronze and put the clasps into the loops and couple the tent together, that it may be one whole.

12 The surplus that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the tabernacle.

13 And the cubit on the one side and the cubit on the other side of what remains in the length of the curtains of the tent shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle, on this side and that side, to cover it.

14 You shall make a [third] covering for the tent of rams’ skins tanned red, and a [fourth] covering above that of dolphin or porpoise skins.

15 And you shall make the upright frame for the tabernacle of boards of acacia wood.

16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.

17 Make two tenons in each board for dovetailing and fitting together; so shall you do for all the tabernacle boards.

18 And make the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side;

19 And you shall make forty silver sockets under the twenty boards, two sockets under each board for its two tenons.

20 And for the north side of the tabernacle there shall be twenty boards

21 And their forty silver sockets, two sockets under each board.

22 For the back or west side of the tabernacle you shall make six boards.

23 Make two boards for the corners of the tabernacle in the rear on both sides.

24 They shall be coupled down below and coupled together on top with one ring. Thus shall it be for both of them; they shall form the two corners.

25 And that will be eight boards and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets, two sockets under each board.

26 And you shall make bars of acacia wood: five for the boards of one side,

27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the rear end of the tabernacle, for the back wall to the west.

28 And the middle bar halfway up the boards shall pass through from end to end.

29 You shall overlay the boards with gold and make their rings of gold to hold the bars and overlay the bars with gold.

30 You shall erect the tabernacle after the plan of it shown you on the mountain.

31 And make a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff] and fine twined linen, skillfully worked with cherubim on it.

32 You shall hang it on four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold, with gold hooks, on four sockets of silver.

33 And you shall hang the veil from the clasps and bring the ark of the Testimony into place within the veil; and the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.

34 And you shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place.

35 And you shall set the table [for the showbread] outside the veil [in the Holy Place] on the north side and the lampstand opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle.

36 You shall make a hanging [to form a screen] for the door of the tent of blue, purple, and scarlet [stuff] and fine twined linen, embroidered.(A)

37 You shall make five pillars of acacia wood to support the hanging curtain and overlay them with gold; their hooks shall be of gold, and you shall cast five [base] sockets of bronze for them.

The Tabernacle(A)

26 “Make the tabernacle(B) with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim(C) woven into them by a skilled worker. 2 All the curtains are to be the same size(D)—twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide.[a] 3 Join five of the curtains together, and do the same with the other five. 4 Make loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in one set, and do the same with the end curtain in the other set. 5 Make fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the other set, with the loops opposite each other. 6 Then make fifty gold clasps and use them to fasten the curtains together so that the tabernacle is a unit.(E)

7 “Make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven altogether. 8 All eleven curtains are to be the same size(F)—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.[b] 9 Join five of the curtains together into one set and the other six into another set. Fold the sixth curtain double at the front of the tent. 10 Make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in one set and also along the edge of the end curtain in the other set. 11 Then make fifty bronze clasps and put them in the loops to fasten the tent together as a unit.(G) 12 As for the additional length of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over is to hang down at the rear of the tabernacle. 13 The tent curtains will be a cubit[c] longer on both sides; what is left will hang over the sides of the tabernacle so as to cover it. 14 Make for the tent a covering(H) of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of the other durable leather.[d](I)

15 “Make upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle. 16 Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide,[e] 17 with two projections set parallel to each other. Make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way. 18 Make twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle 19 and make forty silver bases(J) to go under them—two bases for each frame, one under each projection. 20 For the other side, the north side of the tabernacle, make twenty frames 21 and forty silver bases(K)—two under each frame. 22 Make six frames for the far end, that is, the west end of the tabernacle, 23 and make two frames for the corners at the far end. 24 At these two corners they must be double from the bottom all the way to the top and fitted into a single ring; both shall be like that. 25 So there will be eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.

26 “Also make crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle, 27 five for those on the other side, and five for the frames on the west, at the far end of the tabernacle. 28 The center crossbar is to extend from end to end at the middle of the frames. 29 Overlay the frames with gold and make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Also overlay the crossbars with gold.

30 “Set up the tabernacle(L) according to the plan(M) shown you on the mountain.

31 “Make a curtain(N) of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, with cherubim(O) woven into it by a skilled worker. 32 Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases.(P) 33 Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the covenant law behind the curtain.(Q) The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.(R) 34 Put the atonement cover(S) on the ark of the covenant law in the Most Holy Place. 35 Place the table(T) outside the curtain on the north side of the tabernacle and put the lampstand(U) opposite it on the south side.

36 “For the entrance to the tent make a curtain(V) of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer.(W) 37 Make gold hooks for this curtain and five posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold. And cast five bronze bases for them.

4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.

5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.

6 And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.

7 And thou shalt make curtains of goats' hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.

13 And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers' skins.

15 And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood standing up.

16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.

17 Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.

19 And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.

20 And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards:

21 And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

22 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.

23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.

24 And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

25 And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

26 And thou shalt make bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.

28 And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.

29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.

30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount.

31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver.

33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

36 And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.

37 And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.
