Los israelitas cruzan el Mar Rojo
14 El Señor habló con Moisés, y le dijo:
2 «Di a los hijos de Israel que den la vuelta y acampen junto al mar, frente a Pi Ajirot, entre Migdol y el mar hacia Baal Sefón. 3 El faraón va a pensar que ustedes los israelitas andan perdidos en esta región, rodeados por el desierto. 4 Pero yo voy a endurecer el corazón del faraón para que vaya tras ustedes, y seré glorificado en el faraón y en todo su ejército. Así sabrán los egipcios que yo soy el Señor.»
Y ellos lo hicieron así. 5 Y cuando el rey de Egipto recibió la noticia de que los israelitas huían, su corazón y el de sus siervos se volvió contra ellos, y dijeron: «¿Cómo hemos podido permitir esto de que Israel se vaya y deje de servirnos?» 6 Enseguida el faraón unció su carro y echó mano de su pueblo, 7 tomó seiscientos de sus mejores carros de combate, y todos los carros de Egipto con sus respectivos capitanes. 8 Y el Señor endureció el corazón del faraón, rey de Egipto, y lo hizo perseguir a los hijos de Israel; pero éstos habían salido con mano poderosa. 9 Los egipcios fueron tras ellos, con toda la caballería y los carros del faraón, y con su caballería y todo su ejército, y los alcanzaron a la orilla del mar, a un costado de Pi Ajirot y delante de Baal Sefón, donde estaban acampados.
10 Cuando los hijos de Israel levantaron la vista, vieron que el faraón se acercaba y que los egipcios venían tras ellos; esto les hizo tener mucho miedo, así que clamaron al Señor 11 y le dijeron a Moisés:
«¿Acaso no había sepulcros en Egipto, que nos has traído hasta el desierto para que muramos aquí? ¿Por qué nos has hecho esto? ¿Por qué nos sacaste de Egipto? 12 Esto es lo que te decíamos en Egipto, cuando te pedimos: “¡Déjanos servir a los egipcios! ¡Es mejor que sirvamos a los egipcios, y no que muramos en el desierto!”»
13 Pero Moisés le dijo al pueblo:
«No tengan miedo. Manténganse firmes, y vean la salvación que el Señor llevará hoy a cabo en favor de ustedes. Los egipcios que hoy han visto, nunca más volverán a verlos. 14 Quédense tranquilos, que el Señor peleará por ustedes.»
15 Pero el Señor le dijo a Moisés:
«¿Por qué me pides ayuda? ¡Ordena a los hijos de Israel que sigan su marcha! 16 Y tú, levanta tu vara, extiende tu mano sobre el mar, y divídelo, para que los hijos de Israel lo crucen en seco. 17 Yo, por mi parte, voy a endurecer el corazón de los egipcios para que los persigan, y me glorificaré en el faraón y en todo su ejército, y en sus carros de guerra y en su caballería. 18 Y cuando me haya glorificado en el faraón, y en su caballería y carros de guerra, los egipcios sabrán que yo soy el Señor.»
19 El ángel de Dios, que precedía al campamento de Israel, se apartó de ellos y se puso en la retaguardia. Así mismo, la columna de nube que los precedía se apartó y fue a ponerse a sus espaldas, 20 entre el ejército egipcio y el campamento de Israel. Para los egipcios, ésta era una nube tenebrosa, pero a Israel lo alumbraba de noche. En toda esa noche, no se acercaron los unos a los otros.
21 Entonces Moisés extendió su mano sobre el mar, y el Señor hizo que toda esa noche el mar se retirara por causa de un fuerte viento oriental; eso hizo que las aguas se dividieran y que el mar se quedara seco. 22 Así los hijos de Israel entraron en el mar(A) y lo cruzaron en seco, con un muro de agua a su derecha y otro a su izquierda. 23 Los egipcios los siguieron. Toda la caballería del faraón, más sus carros de guerra y su gente de a caballo, entraron tras ellos hasta la mitad del mar. 24 Pero en la madrugada del día siguiente el Señor miró el campamento de los egipcios desde la columna de fuego y de nube, y trastornó su campamento: 25 a sus carros les quitó las ruedas, y a ellos los dejó en una confusión tremenda. Entonces los egipcios dijeron:
«Huyamos de los israelitas, porque el Señor pelea en favor de ellos y contra nosotros.»
26 Pero el Señor le dijo a Moisés:
«Ahora extiende tu mano sobre el mar, para que las aguas se vuelvan contra los egipcios, y contra sus carros y caballería.»
27 Moisés extendió su mano sobre el mar, y al amanecer el mar se volvió con toda su fuerza contra los egipcios, que al huir se toparon con el mar. ¡Y el Señor derribó a los egipcios en medio del mar!
28 Al volverse las aguas, cubrieron por completo los carros y la caballería del faraón, y todo su ejército que había entrado en el mar para perseguir a los israelitas. ¡Ni uno de ellos quedó con vida! 29 En cambio, los israelitas cruzaron el mar en seco, con un muro de agua a su derecha y otro a su izquierda.
30 Aquel día el Señor salvó a los israelitas de manos de los egipcios, e Israel vio los cadáveres de los egipcios a la orilla del mar. 31 Y al ver el pueblo de Israel aquel gran hecho que el Señor llevó a cabo en contra de los egipcios, tuvo temor del Señor, y todos creyeron en el Señor y en su siervo Moisés.

Пусть они расположатся у моря, прямо перед Баал-Цефоном. 3 Фараон подумает: «Исраильтяне блуждают по этой земле в растерянности, окружённые пустыней». 4 Я сделаю сердце фараона упрямым, и он погонится за ними. И тогда, победив фараона с его войском, Я прославлюсь. Тогда египтяне узнают, что Я – Вечный.
Исраильтяне так и сделали. 5 Когда царю Египта сказали, что народ Исраила убежал, фараон и его приближённые настроились против исраильтян и сказали:
– Что мы сделали? Мы отпустили исраильтян и лишились работников!
6 Фараон запряг колесницу и взял с собой войско. 7 Он взял шестьсот отборных колесниц и все остальные колесницы Египта с их начальниками. 8 Вечный наполнил сердце фараона, царя Египта, упрямством, и он погнался за исраильтянами, которые смело покидали Египет. 9 Войско египтян со всеми лошадьми фараона, колесницами и всадниками погналось за исраильтянами и настигло их, когда они расположились лагерем у моря, рядом с Пи-Хиротом, напротив Баал-Цефона.
10 Когда фараон приблизился, исраильтяне оглянулись и увидели, что египтяне преследуют их. Они очень испугались и стали взывать к Вечному. 11 Они сказали Мусе:
– Разве в Египте не было могил, что ты повёл нас умирать в пустыню? Что ты сделал с нами, выведя нас из Египта? 12 Разве мы не говорили тебе в Египте: «Оставь нас в покое. Дай нам служить египтянам?» Лучше бы нам оставаться рабами у египтян, чем умирать в пустыне!
13 Муса ответил народу:
– Не бойтесь. Стойте твёрдо, и вы увидите, как Вечный спасёт вас сегодня. Египтян, которых вы видите сейчас, вы не увидите больше никогда. 14 Будьте спокойны, Вечный будет сражаться за вас.
15 Вечный сказал Мусе:
– Зачем ты взываешь ко Мне? Вели исраильтянам идти вперёд. 16 Подними посох, простри руку над морем, и оно разделится. Тогда исраильтяне смогут пройти через море, как по суше. 17 А Я сделаю египтян упрямыми, и они пойдут за вами. Я прославлюсь, победив фараона и его войско, с его колесницами и всадниками. 18 Египтяне узнают, что Я – Вечный, когда Я прославлюсь, победив фараона с его колесницами и всадниками.
19 Ангел Всевышнего, Который шёл перед исраильским войском, пошёл позади него. Облачный столб тоже передвинулся со своего места и оказался позади них, 20 между войсками Египта и Исраила. Всю ночь облако давало тьму одной стороне и свет другой, и всю ночь свет и тьма не могли сойтись.
21 Муса простёр руку над морем, а Вечный всю ночь отгонял море сильным восточным ветром и превратил его в сушу. Воды разделились, 22 и исраильтяне прошли через море, как по суше: одна стена воды стояла у них справа, а другая – слева. 23 Египтяне погнались за ними. Лошади, колесницы с всадниками фараона ринулись в море за исраильтянами. 24 Перед самым рассветом Вечный посмотрел из огненного и облачного столба на египетское войско и поверг его в смятение. 25 Он застопорил[a] колёса их колесниц, и им стало трудно ехать.
Египтяне сказали:
– Бежим отсюда! Вечный сражается на стороне исраильтян против Египта.
26 Тогда Вечный сказал Мусе:
– Протяни руку над морем, чтобы воды хлынули назад, на египтян, на их колесницы и всадников. 27 Муса простёр руку над морем, и с рассветом воды сомкнулись. Египтяне бежали навстречу морю, и Вечный смёл их в воду. 28 Вода хлынула назад и накрыла колесницы и всадников – всё войско фараона, которое ринулось за исраильтянами в море. Не спасся никто.
29 Но исраильтяне перешли через море, как по суше: одна стена воды стояла у них справа, а другая – слева. 30 В тот день Вечный спас исраильтян от египтян, и исраильтяне увидели их мёртвыми на берегу. 31 Когда исраильтяне увидели великую силу Вечного, которой Он сразил египтян, то страх перед Вечным охватил их. Они поверили Вечному и Мусе, рабу Его.

14 Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, (A)that they turn and camp before (B)Pi Hahiroth, between (C)Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal Zephon; you shall camp before it by the sea. 3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, (D)‘They are bewildered by the land; the wilderness has closed them in.’ 4 Then (E)I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that he will pursue them; and I (F)will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, (G)that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.
5 Now it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled, and (H)the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people; and they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” 6 So he [a]made ready his chariot and took his people with him. 7 Also, he took (I)six hundred choice chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt with captains over every one of them. 8 And the Lord (J)hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; and (K)the children of Israel went out with boldness. 9 So the (L)Egyptians pursued them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi Hahiroth, before Baal Zephon.
10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel (M)cried out to the Lord. 11 (N)Then they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt? 12 (O)Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”
13 And Moses said to the people, (P)“Do not be afraid. (Q)Stand still, and see the (R)salvation[b] of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall (S)see again no more forever. 14 (T)The Lord will fight for you, and you shall (U)hold[c] your peace.”
15 And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. 16 But (V)lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. 17 And I indeed will (W)harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them. So I will (X)gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen. 18 Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gained honor for Myself over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”
19 And the Angel of God, (Y)who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. 20 So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.
21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and (Z)made the sea into dry land, and the waters were (AA)divided. 22 So (AB)the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were (AC)a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. 23 And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24 Now it came to pass, in the morning (AD)watch, that (AE)the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He [d]troubled the army of the Egyptians. 25 And He [e]took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord (AF)fights for them against the Egyptians.”
26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” 27 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea (AG)returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord (AH)overthrew[f] the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 28 Then (AI)the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained. 29 But (AJ)the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
30 So the Lord (AK)saved[g] Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel (AL)saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. 31 Thus Israel saw the great [h]work which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and (AM)believed the Lord and His servant Moses.
