Then Abram fell on his face; and God said to him, “Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be Abram,[a] but your name shall be Abraham;[b] for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come forth from you. And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. And I will give to you, and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

And God said to Abraham, “As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.

Abram fell facedown,(A) and God said to him, “As for me, this is my covenant with you:(B) You will be the father of many nations.(C) No longer will you be called Abram[a]; your name will be Abraham,[b](D) for I have made you a father of many nations.(E) I will make you very fruitful;(F) I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.(G) I will establish my covenant(H) as an everlasting covenant(I) between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God(J) and the God of your descendants after you.(K) The whole land of Canaan,(L) where you now reside as a foreigner,(M) I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you;(N) and I will be their God.(O)

Then God said to Abraham, “As for you, you must keep my covenant,(P) you and your descendants after you for the generations to come.(Q)
