²⁹ For those he foreknew he also predestined^(A) to be conformed to the image of his Son,^(B) so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.^{(C) 30} And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified;^(D) and those he justified, he also glorified.^(E)

¹⁵ But as the one who called you^(A) is holy,^(B) you also are to be holy in all your conduct;

Freedom of the Christian

5 For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm,^(A) then, and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.^(B)

¹⁵ And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called^(A) in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful.

Unity and Diversity in the Body of Christ

4 Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord,^(A) urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, ² with all humility^(B) and gentleness, with patience,^(C) bearing^(D) with one another in love,^(E)

²¹ For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered^(A) for you, leaving you an example,^(B) that you should follow^(C) in his steps.

¹⁴ I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly^[a] call in Christ Jesus.^(A)
