¹⁰ The ax is already at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.^(A)

⁸ But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is worthless and about to be cursed, and at the end will be burned.^(A)

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are obvious:^[a] sexual immorality,^(A) moral impurity,^(B) promiscuity,^{(C) 20} idolatry,^(D) sorcery,^(E) hatreds,^(F) strife,^(G) jealousy,^(H) outbursts of anger,^(I) selfish ambitions,^(J) dissensions,^(K) factions,^{(L) 21} envy,^[b](M) drunkenness, carousing,^(N) and anything similar. I am warning you about these things—as I warned you before—that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.^(O)
