56 Yet they (A)tested and (B)rebelled against the Most High God
    and did not keep his testimonies,
57 but turned away and acted treacherously like their fathers;
    they twisted like (C)a deceitful bow.
58 For they (D)provoked him to anger with their (E)high places;
    they (F)moved him to jealousy with their (G)idols.
59 When God heard, he was full of (H)wrath,
    and he utterly rejected Israel.
60 He (I)forsook his dwelling at (J)Shiloh,
    the tent where he dwelt among mankind,
61 and delivered his (K)power to captivity,
    his (L)glory to the hand of the foe.
62 He (M)gave his people over to the sword
    and (N)vented his wrath on his heritage.
63 (O)Fire devoured their young men,
    and their young women had no (P)marriage song.
64 Their (Q)priests fell by the sword,
    and their (R)widows made no lamentation.

60 He abandoned the tabernacle of Shiloh,(I)
    the tent he had set up among humans.(J)
61 He sent the ark of his might(K) into captivity,(L)
    his splendor into the hands of the enemy.
62 He gave his people over to the sword;(M)
    he was furious with his inheritance.(N)
63 Fire consumed(O) their young men,
    and their young women had no wedding songs;(P)
64 their priests were put to the sword,(Q)
    and their widows could not weep.
